HAWKS WIN! HAWKS WIN THE STANLEY CUP!!
I think the Carcillo move really backfired on Philly and actually got the Hawks to be more physical early. Niemi again won that game. Was not a fan of sitting back in the third as the Flyers really took it to the Hawks. Hossa is having a really good series as is Dave Bolland. The funny thing was Sopel ran the PP for vancouer when they were in the Finals, I am not sure where that abiiliy went to. He did get beat on the boiuncing puck once but the guy gives up his body like none other. Kane being benched for Eager and Eager scoring was the talk on the radio this morning.....

June Catch All White Sox Thread
The thing that gives me hope is they are.500 against New York, Toronto and Tampa three of the better teams in baseball. Although they can not beat s*** teams so they stay at .500 since the first two weeks of the season.....

QUOTE (scenario @ May 30, 2010 -> 02:39 PM) Exactly. What the HELL was the thinking there? The pitcher is digging himself a hole and we bail him out? Geezus. Single makes it even worse...Ramirez is 2-4 in stolen base attempts

QUOTE (BigSqwert @ May 30, 2010 -> 02:36 PM) AND THAT IS WHY PEOPLE WERE COMPLAINING ABOUT NIX SITTING ON THE BENCH WHILE OMAR WAS GETTING MORE PLAYING TIME! Nix can't play short or third.......now if you are saying if Beckham stays cold should he move to second and Beckham AAA to work on things......

QUOTE (fathom @ May 30, 2010 -> 02:31 PM) Nix has to stay back here and look up the middle. Not a good match-up with his pull habit. Exactly right on both counts...

QUOTE (JohnCangelosi @ May 30, 2010 -> 02:23 PM) Watch Ozzie leave him in there for the 6th. If he does, he should be fired. It's clear the guy has NOTHING in the tank and virtually every ball was hit hard that inning, including two of the hardest being outs. Should go Santos, Putz, Thorton Jenks... If Rios can't drive in a couple it won't matter the bottom 6 in the line up are 0-10 with Teahen having 2 hits. THis team will be incredibly rested for the college football season that is for sure......maybe the air is out in the dome.

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ May 30, 2010 -> 02:15 PM) This is out of hand? Peavy's struggling but he's given up 3 runs through 5. It will be with the way Peavy is pitching. A 3-1 lead will be 5-3 deficit quickly. Did you see yesterday's game. The Sox really need a long man.

With the off day tomorrow one of Santos, Putz, Thorton or Jenks should be in already. Guillen is letting games get out of hand.

HAWKS WIN! HAWKS WIN THE STANLEY CUP!!
Kopecky has had a great playoff (when he has played) The refs were brutal tonight and I thought the Hawks seemed to outplay the Flyers. Kane was nonexistant. Great game.

QUOTE (SoxFan562004 @ May 28, 2010 -> 03:50 PM) Flyout, K, K, Motte cleaned it up I love being wrong. On the Zambrano thing he threw a simulated game on Monday......they could have used his bat in the lineup as well for at least one at bat.

QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ May 28, 2010 -> 03:44 PM) True. And now the only player in Chicago more disappointing than CQ and Beckham has a great chance to finally make some noise. Scratch that, fly out for A-Ram. Soriano and/or byrd will come through with something though. cub pen 8 Ip 3 hits 4 K's

2010 Cubs Thread
QUOTE (fathom @ May 28, 2010 -> 03:40 PM) Well, Cardinals haven't scored any runs against the Cubs mop-up relievers in 8 innings, and Cubs are creeping back into the game. cubs will end up winning this game agasint good bullpen pitchers actually. Why did they not bring in Zamabrano to stretch him out as this would have been perfect. Something is off with that situation.

A Cold Weather Super Bowl!
QUOTE (JuiceCruz16 @ May 28, 2010 -> 02:16 PM) I remember the Chargers vs. Bengals in Cincinatti for the AFC championship game. -50 wind chill or something like that. Totally frozen field. It was a farce of a game with the frozen field, who would fumble the frozen ball first, slip and make the big mistake first, etc. San Diego had nobody to blame but theirself for not having a better record then Cincy and having to play in those conditions though. Now if that was the Super Bowl where the NFL chose Cincinatti as the venue then that would have been pure stupidity and totally unfair. The weather was THE most important factor in the game, as it eliminated most of the skills each team used all year to get to that game. Your point is even more exemplified by the game that was played the week before when Kellen Winslow was carried off the field with heat exhaustion. Almost a 150 degree temperature difference between the two games. I just do not see the point of having it in NY.

Pods
QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ May 28, 2010 -> 01:06 PM) Exactly. You can't bargain hunt when it comes to your starters. We waited on DH and look how that ended up. They are going with exactly what they wanted.

2010 Cubs Thread
QUOTE (JoeCoolMan24 @ May 28, 2010 -> 03:05 PM) It's weird how badly they view Wells, but he was their best starter last year, and was doing well this year, yet it seems he is always the odd man out. I think he was a converted position player and they did not expect that much out of him. He made his name in their minor league bullpen and they might think his arm has a limited number of innings in it....... Also I do not study the cubs numbers but it seemed like a week ago the entire team except for Lee and Ramirez were well over .300 like a bunch of guys in the .330 range and now while there are still a couple in the .300 range there are bunch that are now back down to earth.

Wasn't Wells slated for the pen anyway? He was as good as anyone in that rotation and young. He could not have been too excited about the move.

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ May 28, 2010 -> 12:46 PM) time runs a little differently down there... Don't tell him we already beat the Sharks. Please use spolier tags I am only up to last Saturday with my DVR......can't wait to get to Lost sometime over the weekend.

LOST!!!!
QUOTE (CrimsonWeltall @ May 27, 2010 -> 09:19 AM) Jacob planned to kill MIB? If the only way that is possible is with a EM-immune person like Desmond, how did he expect Dharma to do anything? Any why would the Others KILL the Dharma people? MIB corrupted Ben? How? Ben only ever took orders from Jacob via Richard. Remember when Ben thought he was summoning the smoke monster well he tells us that it was how the smoke monster actually summoned him. MIB was a stronger soul than Jacob was and better for the island same as Hurley compared to Locke. Locke would have been the better choice but it did not work out that way. That write up really made sense. My personal explanation as to the healing powers of the island and child birth has to due with the level of electromagnetic radition that surrounds the island it kills the baby but helps with the healing. As for time travel, Tunsia and disappearing that was a nice way to fill 6 seasons I guess.

May Catch All White Sox Thread
QUOTE (SoxAce @ May 28, 2010 -> 11:44 AM) Dodgers are paying for half of Pierre's contract FYI. 2 years at $4M each after Dodger money which is why they had to give up Ely. That is the MO that I most dislike about KW. He gives up prospects in exchaange for cash he did this in the Thome deal and all of those 04/05 Everett and Alomar deals. Also Ritchie was a Schueler deal I believe....I know KW was the GM but I thought Schuler pushed it through. I love how the Sox GM never gets credit for a win but certainly gets blasted for a loss.

Pods
QUOTE (BearSox @ May 28, 2010 -> 10:39 AM) KW, IMO, rushed into things. Instead of waiting to see how the market played out with Pods, he goes and makes a trade for Pierre. However, if he waited a little longer, the Royals would have emerged as the only contender for Pods, and it would have been an easy sign. Maybe a little more expensive than the 2 million he is making this year, but certainly a lot cheaper than the 10 million we owe Pierre for the next year and a half. or KW could have waited lost both Pierre and Pods and have Beckham lead off.
