  1. The baseball IQ of this team is zero.........outfielders drop fly balls and hitters give away at bats at an alarming rate.
  2. AJ really is bad at driving in runs
  3. QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 4, 2010 -> 09:01 PM) It would be nice to see someone held accountable for an absolute abortion of a season. Why start now it is all the players fault the manager need not put guys in position to succeed. Guillen should be fired because he is stupid enough to think that Mark Kotsay is better than Jim Thome.
  4. Same with Buerhle the other night he accomplished nothing by letting the starter try and get out of it. Now it just makes Santos have to work harder. He really is becoming a terrrible manager.
  5. Why is he hell bent on saving the bullpen????? Same thing with making sure everyone is rested. 3 of 4 years under .500 show me he is not all that great of a manager...I know the players need to perform. This is the second time this week he is allowing the starter to get his ass handed to him.
  6. He had 87 pitches through 5 innings. Until he learns to control his pitch count he will have these starts that look good but in reality are not at all helpful
  7. Sad when the tv guys can't even find the penalty this is not even fun to watch
  8. Danks averaging 5 pitches per batter
  9. s*** hockey and baseball on.
  10. QUOTE (SoxAce @ Jun 4, 2010 -> 03:37 PM) Fun stat of the day. The sox are 7-0 when Andruw Jones homers in a game. (according to Hawk since they were 6-0 before yesterday's win) Which is why it is important to have a DH/number 5 hitter that can actually hit.
  11. Yet White Sox starters are getting beat like drums......
  12. QUOTE (whitesoxfan101 @ Jun 3, 2010 -> 06:01 PM) I'm surprised they aren't more expensive honestly (although you're right, they've skyrockted pricewise). That's the one part of the place that's always full, even when the rest of the park isn't. People will pay anything for "the bleacher experience". Can folks from other parts of the park sit in the blechers? I think I heard they have had 1 sell out and are sold to 93% of capacity but are only getting about 75% through the turnstyles.
  13. No reason for Kotsay to bat 5th and Konerko to sit. The L/R thing does not work if one of the options sucks (see Williams, Randy or Kotsay, Mark). Guillen really believes this works and it does not. The platooning is getting really tiresome.
  14. I was talking about this to a friend of mine nad he pointed out that Scotty Bowman probably made a call or two as well as Q and Bowman looking to adjust the game plan. I forgot all about him.....my mind is at ease. I am sure you all are happy. Not many better duos that those two around.
  15. QUOTE (whitesoxfan101 @ Jun 3, 2010 -> 05:47 PM) I'm not sure I get the conspiracy theories I'm seeing. Overall, it could be argued the Flyers outplayed the Hawks in all 3 games, and the Hawks are fortunate to be up 2-1. The main reason they lost last night was special teams, Philly was 2 for 3 on the PP and the Hawks were 0 for 3 IIRC. I just think the officiating in this series has been generally poor, tons of penalties have been missed both ways. Perhaps a few more missed against Philly since they just commit more of them, but not enough to affect the outcomes. Hawks should be ok in game 4. The one thing I've seen that is concerning the last two games is it looks like the Flyers effort level has been higher than the Hawks. I can't imagine that'll be an issue again tomorrow though. I only say that because the unpenalized style of play is making the Hawks change their game. I could be wrong but it just appears to be that way.
  16. Let me throw some conspiracy theories out there. Pronger should have spent a good amount of time in the box and there were three other elbows by other Flyers to the head of various Hawk players that were not called. I really think this is throwing the Hawks off of their game and the Buff line change may be a result of it and that will then have the Hawks making adjustments as a result of non-hockey activity. How the Flyers have gotten more PP's than the Hawks is an absolute joke. I find it odd how Comcast owns Versus, NBC and the Flyers...... The Flyers made crisp passes and have controlled the series after the second period of game two. I think the physical style is now having an impact and I am curious to see where it goes from here. The Hawks defense was atrocious yesterday by the way. Maybe the Flyers are better than I thought.
  17. This team seems to love the terms platoon and protecting a bullpen. When I heard Lillibridge was coming up because he can platoon and pinch run I just shook my head. Bring up Morel and see what he can do or bring up Viciedo and let him DH. You do this every day until Teahen comes back......nope we will get the Omar/Nix/Lillibridge platoon...ugh. I would have liked to see Retehrford I know he is having a terrible season but a change in venue could help we have seen Lillibridge, there is nothing there. I agree 100% on Lucy. Tyler Colvin was not a highly rated guy
  18. The Hawks have not played as well as they are capable of while I am not certain the Flyers can play better as I have only seen three of their games this year and they have not impressed me. Half way through the second period Monday the Hawks had won 70% of the face offs for the series. The Flyers dominated that game after that and made it close but at that point, I thought that was an impressive stat. Kane needs to find a way to show America He Has Talent tonight.
  19. QUOTE (MHizzle85 @ Jun 1, 2010 -> 10:32 PM) So, taking the game puck is that big of a deal in hockey? Eager cared that much to get in his face about it? Eager was sent to get in his face at the end of the 2nd period and he did. I am sure if Eager wanted the puck he would have gotten it from him. This makes Pronger just look like a big douche that's all. Him and Carcillo are a classy duo.
  20. QUOTE (SoxFan562004 @ Jun 2, 2010 -> 08:52 AM) exactly, they'll do fine, around the same numbers once the buses full of slack jawed yokels from Iowa start rolling in. The weather hasn't been spectacular every night, a lot of colder nights and rain, so that probably stops the walk ups for the standing room. Yokels from Iowa are not going to be paying the prices the Rickettes family needs to sell them for. Interesting blurb on the radio about the number of rooftops that are going under that the Ricketts are buying.
  21. Just walked in from the game. For the weather that was one of the worst attended games I can remember. My thoughts and I have not read this thread; Santos should have faced the two RHH both batting below .210 in the 6th There is no reason for Mark Kotsay to be on this team. Randy Williams is not a MLB pitcher. Alexi Ramirez could be one of the dumbest players I have ever seen. Other than that, a great game. KW needs to start moving players
  22. My $.02 Pierre defensively has been better than I thought he would be and his arm while not a cannon is ok.....for a LF he is fine. Teahen and Quentin suck and Rios is fantastic. The rest of them are doing their job for the most part. The defense is better than last year but it still needs to be better. A 1B with better range would be good but Konerko is in my mind above average as he can pick the s***ty throws from the left side of the infield and he is good at the pick off throw to second which is essential with Danks and Buerhle as well as the 3-6-3.
  23. QUOTE (Kalapse @ Jun 1, 2010 -> 02:01 PM) Career vs Harden: Pierre 1/2 Pierz 1/12 w/ BB, 4K (.083) Rios 3/14 (.214) Konerko 1/17 2BB, 5K (.059) Kotsay 1/6 Quentin 2/5 w/ HR, BB, K Ramirez 1/3 w/ BB Vizquel 2/10 w/ 3BB, 4K Beckham 0 PA Looks like an easy night for Harden based on these numbers.
  24. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Jun 1, 2010 -> 10:42 AM) Burish. He said it was the first good hit he had all season. Apparently Philly thought they could out muscle the Hawks with one goon who isnt even very big. I love how he was the talk of the pregame and intermission reports yet the only damage he did was to his own player. Ben Eager is pretty underrated. I actually wonder how good he and Versteeg would be if they played along side some more offensively minded talent.
  25. Why can't Beckham be moved to third and Nix second? I know it is psyche thing but Beckham and Nix are comparable at second and Beckham is better at third.
