  1. I keep pointing to he fact that history cannot be the gauge as to what the future will hold. Looking back over he history of baseball there were times when the playoffs consisted of 2 teams, now it is 12. There were schedules that were more weighted to divisional foes now that is reduced. This impacts travel and knowing the pitcher and opponent much less then in the past. I can only judge by what I am seeing. The bullpen is shaky but has gotten better and the bats seem to be better as Moncada and Burger are back and the third string catcher is not the DH. All that being said, they did lose 3 of 4 in KC last week....but KC just beat the Padres so who knows lies ahead. I do think the order needs to be reconfigured.
  2. Moncada, Burger, Vaughn, Sheets, Eloy and Benentendi. 6 guys for 5 spots. They all play 5 out of 6 days and see what happens.
  3. Burger gets lumped in with Sheets and Vaughn as being unathletic. I am not certain that is the case. He is a much better athlete then both of them. Because of the injuries people forget he was a high first round pick which for the White Sox draft history doesn't mean much but his success should not be surprising.
  4. The inability to have any first inning success is maddening. Anderson and Benentendi need to bat 7th and 9th or something, I don't know. It ain't working
  5. History is no indicator in that playoffs expanded from 2 teams to 12 over time. Also this new schedule will lead to a team winning a division with a below .500 record at some point. This would happen often in football if 35% of the games were not inside the division.
  6. It's a rehab outing, spring training and missed off season conditioning.
  7. That inning showed what he could do both good and bad That was a really good game. A lot of opportunities early to get to Bieber that they didn't capitalize on. The Guardians lineup is really bad.
  8. $5 frat house beer and ILL Night is making fir a scene. In a good way
  9. Anderson clueless at the plate right now.....and in the field
  10. Unclutch singles hitters galore
  11. Lineup construction seems a bit of an issue this evening
  12. We will hear more and more how a sprained knee takes 12 weeks to heal.
  13. Water not considered a coke product. The beer is 16 Oz. Its fine but takes a bit of work to find. I may have hit wrong stands though
  14. Yo yo just not feeling like swinging today. Cuban was good but the $5 thing is kind of bullshit
  15. He has hit he ball to the left side and cleared the infield on a fly three times this season. https://baseballsavant.mlb.com/savant-player/tim-anderson-641313?stats=career-r-visuals-mlb
  16. I'm not certain any person has ever said any of the guys you have on your list other than Keuchel were are a cancer. How you included Thomas and Dick Allen renders whatever you were trying to proof as nonsense. Only two people that wanted Thomas out of town were KW and Guillen. Benentendi is punchline and has been since he signed his contract.
  17. The guy is losing tens of millions of dollars each month he is not the TA of pre-Field of Dreams Days. His long term deal killed him and while it could have been used as a trade chip that's decreasing as well. He seems to always have some issue or another that is the rationale for stagnating as a player. Death of a friend, IG models, ejections, suspensions, lack of focus, injuries. As I have stated previously, 4 years ago the guy could have been the biggest star in this city now I am not sure what he is. This is probably the saddest aspect of this team for me as I really liked the guy and hoped for the best. Now he is anchored at lead off which is probably the worst sport for him in the lineup. He cannot adjust his approach at the plate at all.
  18. Hes the only veteran presence and there are zero options.
  19. There is a s%*# ton of 3/4/5 starters out there every year that they are too cheap to sign. Look at the cubs.
  20. To me it is aparent that post COVID they are investing less in baseball ops and other teams more. There is literally no player development.
  21. He has not progressed one bit since he was traded and regressed due to injury. The TJ, covid and mental health issues pretty much stagnated his career. Why he isnt being used as the 2 inning reliever when he had success..... well.....its the White Sox That being said f*** this offense and as long as Anderson is trotted out to bat lead off the are not improving.
  22. This is where shitty Chicago media comes in to play. We as fans only know what we read in the media and they all loved him. We needed a Cowley article that did some real work on it. Not just....well George Brett liked.
