The mantra of the A's, Red Sox and Yankees is to make a pitcher work and look for a certain pitch and then simply make contact on a 2 strike pitch. The mantra of the White Sox is to jump after he first pitch close.

With a 3 run lead there is no reason to give away outs in the 2nd inning. Oh and the last 3 seconds of that Phelps race are probably going to be shown for the remainder of my lifetime among Olympic highlites. I am 37.

Ok so somebody needs to pitch next Tuesday and it can't be Broadway as he can't return until the 25th. So it is Richard because he is left handed and I suppose the Mariners do not hit lefties all that well and Broadway gets hit pretty good by lefties. I thought Broadway did a nice job and should be given another start. Not sure I agree with this line of thinking but I was not a big Broadway fan coming into yesterday. Who knows.
