I like Jim Thome but I think his Hawk nickname should be the Garbage Man. -

Konerko will at least change things up and adjust his swing to what is needed for the AB. Thome just rears back and swings ala Sammy Sosa and when you get older you swe what happens to each. I understand Sosa is a jag on steroids but they are very similar hitters. -

QUOTE (scenario @ Jun 17, 2008 -> 04:13 PM) It's not unusual they're starting Wise. This year he's hitting .298 against lefties. And Snell seems to have more control problems when he faces left-handed hitters. (26 walks and 25 K's vs. lefties; 13 walks and 37 K's vs. righties.) Well there you have it. Ozzie stopped managing by the seat of his pants and he read a scouting report. -

Dewayne Wise is up Paul Konerko to the DL

Of the four Wise, Uribe, Ramirez and IANderson I bet Anderson gets the least at-bats ofthe four while Konerko is out. Unless KW trades Uribe he will play over Anderson as will Ramirez. -
Your first place Chicago White Sox!

QUOTE (greg775 @ Jun 16, 2008 -> 11:01 PM) Detroit finally got beat. Good job Giants ... for once. Fernando - ABBA 1977 -
Did he spearhead the Matt Thorton for Joe Borchard gem? The Jason Varitek trade although not him was as monumentally bad as a trade can be.

QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Jun 17, 2008 -> 07:20 AM) And Ozzie led the Sox to getting swept in Detroit and losing 2 out of 3 to the Rockies. Don't blame the manager on 3 freaking games. How is it Manuel's fault that Thomas and Konerko didn't get a hit the entire series? Chad Bradford Lou Pinella -

Damaso v. Thome Should be fun to see that one. -
Loaiza can serve the 15 days on the DL and then rehab. I do not think these starts are part of the rehab assignment. I also believe he can spend more than 15 days on the DL.

Tiger Woods needs to finish in the Top Ten of every major until 2019 to tie Jack Nicklaus for the most top ten finishes in a major in a career.

I despise greatness.

That's the ballgame. Rocco needed some backspin.

Is this best of the three holes or one hole at a time?

QUOTE (shipps @ Jun 16, 2008 -> 02:50 PM) I love you. Pretty sweet isn't it.

If Martinez is gone more than the 15 days hte Indians may be mailing it in very soon. With Wang out at least 6 weeks look for the Yanks to either go after CC hard or they can mail it in. The AL is getting easier and if the Sox could figure how to hit the wild card is there as much as the division.

I just realized that the Celtics won that game. I am not a basketball fan but watched until the lakers got the 24 point lead. After the miracle on waveland and the sweep sports was unwatch/listenable all morning.

Sox 1990 draft produced most all-stars ever with four

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jun 13, 2008 -> 07:17 AM) It also tempers your expectations of what you are going to get out of a draft... That draft is why I wish the GM (was it Larry Himes) is such an enigma man he could judge talent. -
QUOTE (Cerbaho-WG @ Jun 13, 2008 -> 09:30 AM) He's a converted starter who throws in the mid 90s and has an absolutely terrible slider. He also drops down his arm slot ala Contreras. Terrible as in meh or terrible as in filthy good? Not a real impressive scounting report there unless the fastball moves like a knuckleball. Does he have any secondary pitch?
-
QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Jun 13, 2008 -> 09:01 AM) I really really like Russell's arm. I like this guy a lot and I think he's going to play some good baseball with the Sox. I don't know if he makes an immediate impact but long term he's going to be valuable piece of the Sox pen (maybe even this year, but definately in future years). What's his story?

QUOTE (whitesoxbrian @ Jun 11, 2008 -> 09:44 PM) http://chicago.cubs.mlb.com/schedule/sorta...c&year=2008 Start in the box without a pitcher. Zambrano is #2. Count up from 1-2-3-4-5, and you'll see that Zambrano will pitch on Thursday, and we'll see their 4, 5, and 1. The cubs skip their 4 and 5 and Z pitches every 5 days regardless of the rotation. Sortable scheduels and hyperbole do not work for this. Unless they buck this thinking which they may if he gets hit his next start he will pitch this Tuesday then face the Sox on Sunday than pitch Friday against the Sox. cubs will be on a 10 game home winning streak when they face the Sox
