NV>FO3 eta FO3 really just tore apart a lot of the history/background/lore from FO1 and FO2. Storyline for NV was more complex, and the game mechanics were improved. Both games are tons of fun though

I'll just point to that incredibly low turnout number again. When so few people bother to vote, the "true believers" get to control the elections. It'll be pretty terrible for half a million Kentuckians if Bevin goes through with his promise to destroy programs that a majority of Kentuckians support and which have cut the uninsured rate in the state by half.

Surprise win last night for the Tea Party Republican who campaigned on eliminating Kynect and rolling back the Kentucky Medicaid expansion: But the opposite happened. Bevin campaigned on shutting down KYnect and transferring those on it to the federal exchange, as well as reversing the state’s expansion of Medicaid under the Affordable Care Act. The impact on health care in the Bluegrass State would be significant if both programs are reversed. About 400,000 Kentuckians qualified under the ACA’s Medicaid expansion, according to the Huffington Post, and another 100,000 received health insurance through KYnect. http://www.theatlantic.com/politics/archiv...e-bevin/414055/ Turnout for the race was around 25%.

Has the country (or the world) really gone this far off the rails?
StrangeSox replied to Big Hurtin's topic in The Filibuster
It is literally worse than Syria. Milwaukee is facing a huge refugee crisis from people fleeing this war zone. -
Mostly how their efforts to stop this in the financial world are getting blocked!

I am at a loss for how someone could support Kasich, Rubio and Sanders.

Something else to consider, by forcing older people to work longer, you're making sure they don't leave the workforce which makes it that much harder for younger workers to find jobs.

I am 100%certain that people in the 1930's were aware of both inflation and life expectancy increases because they lived through both. Social Security was also modified in the 1980's to account for baby boomers. And damn all those lazy 70 year Olds, just sitting around and collecting their big government checks! They should get to work!

Ss has lifted millions out of elderly poverty. It is by no means a lavish living, but many would be much, much worse off if it didn't exist. People in the 1930's were aware of both inflation and increasing life expectancy, though life expectancy at retirement hdon' increased as much as life expectancy at birth. I don't see how living past your sixties with some basic needs guaranteed goes against the "American dream"

Officer Fields was really Donald Trump in disguise!

QUOTE (iamshack @ Nov 1, 2015 -> 03:24 PM) I thought I saw that as well, but I went back and watched it again and it appeared he stayed in bounds. These last two games have been disappointing, but for the best in the long run. Absolutely. Want them to be competitive and entertaining, but at the end of the day in okay with them showing some real progress but still losing and getting a better draft pick.

QUOTE (Tex @ Oct 31, 2015 -> 09:38 AM) I haven't seen anything that talks about what all the teacher had done previously. Where did you find that? I'd like to know how many previous problems the teacher had with this student and her cell phone. The girl is new to this school because her mother recently died and she's now an orphan in foster care. Other students said she's quiet and keeps to herself.

The cop is totally to blame for his own actions. She is a student, no scare quotes needed. She is a victim because she was violently attacked by a grown man. Stop making excuses for the adults 'failures.

QUOTE (Tex @ Oct 30, 2015 -> 05:00 PM) The least disruptive is following the classroom procedures, putting away the phone, and participating in class. Wow, get an education. But the student isn't wrong here. The next least disruptive is following the teacher's directions. Wow, get an education. But the student isn't wrong here. The next least disruptive (long term) is following the administrator's directions. Wow, get an education. But the student isn't wrong here. The fourth least disruptive is following the directives from the cop. Wow, get an education. But the student isn't wrong here. But we can't expect a student to follow rules. How dare anyone enforce any rules on kids? Talk after class? And she continues to sit there and use her phone ignoring the lessons? You will eventually lose that classroom and have zero respect from your students. If she doesn't have to follow the rules why should anyone else? What I did in that same situation when the student said, and I am quoting directly, "f*** you, you can't take my phone" (during a test). I let him sit in class. Then the next day I placed all the students into assigned seats, I made them put away all their ear buds, all their hats, and any other infraction I found. After a couple days I went back to my relaxed ways. But the peer pressure is working. But if he does the same thing a couple more times, I'll be writing him up regularly. If he continues to escalate do you really expect me to say "we'll talk after class?" What do you think he will say to me? I'm sorry? LOL Read the actual story, tex. She had already put the phone away.

Speaking of websites being shutdown, this article on how something being digital doesn't mean it's going to be preserved forever. With something like Grantland, who knows how long ESPN will keep those servers up and running for it's legacy material? http://www.theatlantic.com/technology/arch...ost-web/409210/

QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Oct 30, 2015 -> 01:42 PM) Is Greg Ken M.? He has to be, right? he's our own low-rent version but there's too much underlying negativity

man, those comments. Apparently the girl who was attacked is now a violent criminal who should be charged? So many excuses authority figures asserting their will violently.
-
ken m is incredible, he's been at it for a long time

Another vote for violent assault on a teenager, I guess. The teenaged girl who was violently attacked by a grown man suffered multiple injuries. She had also just recently been orphaned when her mom died. Tex, what would be more disruptive to your classroom? Asking her to hand over her phone and then saying "we'll talk after class" when she refuses, or stopping instruction to make a huge scene out of it, eventually calling down administration and then the police?

Gotta agree with LDF, debates really are just theater.

QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Oct 29, 2015 -> 07:30 AM) Maybe they meant just on his fastball... yeah sorry not sure where that stat came from that's what I get for not double-checking (was only half-watching the game last night)

QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Oct 29, 2015 -> 07:17 AM) That was the fewest swings and misses of his career. The lack of strikeouts has also exposed the Mets sub-par defense. It's funny though, if Familia doesn't make the one bad pitch, the series is tied 1-1 and the Mets are in great shape despite getting dominated yesterday. That's baseball though. KC had the fewest strikeouts in the regular season at 973. The difference between them and the next team, Atlanta with 1107, is the same as the difference between Atlanta and the #18 team.

Not sure if it's been mentioned here, but that was the first time in degrom's career that he didn't get a single saying and miss.
