  1. Though it does give me a moment to flash back to a classic thread: Link Ahh, memories. I don't think I've seen any of the OUT posters on the board over the last couple of months, with the exception of Wong & Owens.
  2. QUOTE(EvilJester99 @ May 29, 2005 -> 05:20 PM) I thought Herges apologized to AJ for all that stuff in ST.... He did. It was Brett Tomko who didn't.
  3. QUOTE(JimH @ May 29, 2005 -> 05:02 PM) Ok, mine was an attempt at a rational discussion. Forget it. Rational discussion? What the hell do you think this is, ESPN?
  4. QUOTE(doUrememberwhen @ May 29, 2005 -> 04:57 PM) Let's give Jenks a shot!!! That's not even funny in green! Let Razor Shines & Dotson continue to screw that kid's head on straight in Birmingham. That's our future closer there.
  5. QUOTE(Wedge @ May 29, 2005 -> 04:52 PM) Well, at least we don't have to hear the theme from "The Natural" again for a while. That, with the combo of Hell's Bells.
  6. It gets no easier tomorrow, but I am comforted by the fact that Buehrle will be on the hill, & some guy who used to play 1st base is supposed to join the lineup tomorrow.
  7. QUOTE(Tony82087 @ May 29, 2005 -> 04:29 PM) Thank God you are here today. Don't get me wrong. I'm still p'oed over the loss, but it's like some people are expecting 162-0. Acting like Texas as an also-ran is crazy. The past 2 weeks, the Sox have played 4 of 5 teams either in 1st place or battling for 1st place, with the Cubs being the only exception. Essentially, they broke even. They split with the O's and Angels, took 2/3 from Texas at the Cell, and lost 2 in Arlington. If they're doing this in August when they get the next wave of 1st/2nd place teams like the Yankees/Red Sox/Twins, then I'll start to panic. Until then, they have to remain steady.
  8. QUOTE(I-HATE-CREDE @ May 29, 2005 -> 04:23 PM) After the last three games what is your attitude toward the Sox? Seashells and sunshine? It's called a slump. Even the '27 Yankees had one of those. Will the Sox return to the mashing team they were over the last couple of years. Doubtful. Will they hit better as the year goes on. Probable. You weather the storm when the team struggles like this. The pitching wasn't going to be Cy Young quality the entire season. The hitting won't be Mendoza line quality either.
  9. QUOTE(I-HATE-CREDE @ May 29, 2005 -> 04:17 PM) I suppose you'd rather vote these two guys onto the all star team. People like you stick up for Sox players at all cost. Putz. You come in with a dumb screen-name, and then you attack posters because they don't have your doom-and-gloom philosophy. Yep, your stay should be long and fruitful. :rolly
  10. QUOTE(I-HATE-CREDE @ May 29, 2005 -> 04:14 PM) s*** HEAD I'm crushed beyond words. Really, I am.
  11. QUOTE(BobDylan @ May 29, 2005 -> 04:08 PM) We split with Anaheim, which we should have. We were just swept by Texas, which we should not have been. Texas can mash the ball, but their pitching is weak and we went in their with a bunch of broken tree trunks. Young came into the game with a 4-2 record and over his last 3 starts had an ERA of 1.69. But I gotta be careful with what I post. The last time I posted that, I got called a s***head.
  12. QUOTE(I-HATE-CREDE @ May 29, 2005 -> 04:07 PM) How much would it cost to have Crede or Everett's legs broken. Someone should suffer the way they've made us suffer. :headshake Nice knowin' ya.
  13. QUOTE(Tony82087 @ May 29, 2005 -> 04:04 PM) You would think we just played the Royals and D-Rays this last road trip. The Halos are always competitive, and Texas is just stacked. Texas can't be stacked. A-Rod is no longer with them.
  14. QUOTE(fathom @ May 29, 2005 -> 03:59 PM) Not to be an asshole, but did I miss the games where we hit the ball hard? I've seen more weak pop ups than anything else. Even a lot of the Rangers outs were hit hard the past few games. Not just the 3 games, the entire West Coast trip. Everett and Konerko were hitting some hard shots, but right at a fielder. Plus, Texas (and Anaheim) played some good defense this week.
  15. Another horrible ass West Coast trip is complete. :puke
  16. I do love the fact that the Sox have smoked the ball hard in all 3 games only for them to be caught. Meanwhile, the Rangers in between those homeruns, have duck-snorted the Sox to death.
  17. This is like taking a shaker of salt and throwing it in a gaping wound.
  18. QUOTE(maggsmaggs @ May 29, 2005 -> 03:35 PM) A little home cooking will be nice, I've got to admit I have been over-reacting, but that's what you do when you are die-hard. 18 of the next 24, with games against the Tribe, Colorado and the rest of the bad NL West should get us rolling again. Can't call the NL West bad. The Sox get 1st place Arizona & 3rd place LA Dodgers at home, and get 2nd place San Diego and cellar dwellar Colorado on the road.
  19. QUOTE(Tony82087 @ May 29, 2005 -> 03:30 PM) What I seem to not understand is about 2 weeks ago everyone was saying how we have been playing SOOO well, and we all can't expect them to play at a .750 clip the rest of the season. I can't count how many times I saw if the Sox play .500 the rest of the way, we will have ___ this many wins. My question is how did you expect the Sox to lose? Was there going to be a good way this team was going to lose? While the O has obviously been struggling badly, Almost, if not every hitter in the lineup is hitting WELL below there career average. This team is in a funk right now, no getting around it, but was it not expect to happen some point this season??? Which is why today's player of the game is none other than.......Roy Halladay. At least they'll still be 3.5 in front.
  20. I'd say Iguchi is a definite exception.
  21. Listening to their 10:40 update, George Offman is saying the Sox are about to recall Frank. Didn't say when, but should be pretty soon.
  22. I know he imrpoved his stock value during the tournament, but all the way to top 3 status? Link
