QUOTE(whitesoxjr27 @ May 27, 2005 -> 09:47 PM) not being rude here. just wanna make a point. against the cubs bmac was great and tonight the young 21 year old pitcher making his second start should go away and eat s***. amazing stuff. Don't you know you're only as good as your next start?

Way to crush my hopes, DJ. :banghead

I think it might be time to bring back the "Are you IN or OUT thread from 2004".

QUOTE(ReinsdorfSucks @ May 27, 2005 -> 09:02 PM) you're the one that typed it s***head. learn to put a sentence together. Wow, I didn't know this was hard to read: BTW, it wasn't edited.

QUOTE(ReinsdorfSucks @ May 27, 2005 -> 08:59 PM) 4-2 in three starts huh? WOW. pretty amazing Well, seeing how that would defy the law of numbers (or averages, physics, whatnot), ya might want to re-read the post. :rolly

QUOTE(JimH @ May 27, 2005 -> 08:58 PM) Stop, you're confusing things with logic and facts. What the hell was I thinking?

QUOTE(ReinsdorfSucks @ May 27, 2005 -> 08:55 PM) the worst thing about all this is that the sox are getting shut down by these no name pitchers. it's one thing if you go down good pitching. it's another to embarrass yourselves Does it matter that this guy is 4-2, and has had a 1.69 ERA in his last 3 starts? I mean, that is bad pitching, right?

QUOTE(ReinsdorfSucks @ May 27, 2005 -> 08:50 PM) we're so pathetic now it makes ya wanna puke doesn't it? how could THIS team have the best record in baseball? :headshake

Now the comeback begins!

QUOTE(Jabroni @ May 27, 2005 -> 08:42 PM) Missing your spot 4 times for 4 homers and 6 runs is not a good outing. Did I call it a good outing? I said he didn't too badly. I'm quite aware 4 homers surrendered isn't a good thing, but I also don't think he was completely overematched either. He missed a few spots, and paid for it.
-
QUOTE(Jabroni @ May 27, 2005 -> 08:38 PM) With the exception of those 4 homeruns he gave up, he didn't pitch that badly? LOL. All of his earned runs came on those 4 homers. But it wasn't like a performance that Garland has had for the past couple of years, where he would fall victim to "the big inning". He ran into a Texas team that's red-hot and he missed some spots. Outside of that, I thought he pitched okay.
-
With the exception of the home runs, he didn't pitch that badly. He got behind the count a little more than expected, but at least he was around the plate.
-
Dear Lord, that looked painful as hell. I hope he's okay. Seriously, putting my Cubbie hate aside, that looked really bad.

Sox's No. 1 amateur draft deterrent: Agent Boras By Mark Gonzales Tribune staff reporter May 26, 2005, 11:01 PM CDT ANAHEIM -- The White Sox have narrowed their list of first-round candidates for the June 7 amateur draft down to about five players. But there's virtually no chance they will select a player advised by agent Scott Boras. "In my past 15 years of doing this, we haven't had much success with Scott Boras," said Duane Shaffer, the Sox's senior director of player personnel. General manager Ken Williams, who last winter declined to pursue free agents Boras represents, also said Boras would have an impact on whom the Sox would choose with the 15th overall selection. "I'd be lying if I told you it wasn't a consideration," Williams said earlier this week. According to Baseball America, Boras is serving as a family adviser to at least five players who could be taken in the first 20 picks. That doesn't include pitcher Jered Weaver and shortstop Stephen Drew, who will go back into the draft if they don't sign with the teams that drafted them in the first round of the 2004 draft before Wednesday. In past years, the Sox have failed to sign Bobby Seay (1996), Jeff Weaver (1997) and Bobby Hill (1999)—all high draft picks who hired Boras as their family adviser. Shaffer will scout players this weekend at the Southeastern Conference and Atlantic Coast Conference tournaments. He and his top scouts will meet Wednesday in Chicago to review reports and film of their top candidates. "We're not specific at this point, whether it's high school or college, pitcher or position player," Shaffer said. "I can't tell you who it will be. We have all these categories in the mix." The Boras factor also could influence the 14 teams picking ahead of the Sox. Shaffer acknowledged the Sox's farm system is well stocked with outfielders and pitchers, but that might not discourage them from taking a player in the first round at that position. The Sox won't pick again until the third round with the 97th overall selection. Extra innings The Sox signed two left-handed pitchers from the 2004 draft—Logan Williamson of Pensacola (Fla.) Junior College and Nick Walters of Mountain Ridge High in Glendale, Ariz. Williamson, a 27th rounder, has reported to extended spring training in Tucson, Ariz. Walters, a 31st-round pick, will pitch for the Sox's Rookie level affiliate in Bristol, Va.. … Williams will accompany the team to Texas but might leave to see a potential first-round pick if rain reaches the Dallas-Fort Worth area. QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ May 23, 2005 -> 11:39 PM) You like Crede and Viz? Crede, yes. Vizcaino, not particulary. The mere fact that you said that if the Sox don't make the playoffs should cost KW his job is what had me :shakehead It's May 23, not Sept 23. The season hasn't even reached the 3rd month yet. Let's hold off the playoff talk until they actually get there.

I was initially after this loss. However, after reading some of these responses, I can say I'm now The loss was tough, no doubt. Some of you though, goodness. :rolly

QUOTE(qwerty @ May 23, 2005 -> 11:26 PM) Weird concept. I thought they were all ''s*** bags''? :headshake Trying to find the lighter side of a bad loss. Garland wasn't at his best, but he also didn't pitch like Jon Garland from 2000-2004. Santana had good stuff tonight.
-
QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ May 23, 2005 -> 11:24 PM) I hope you're paying attention, KW. If you don't make the playoffs, you don't have a job. Today showed some big changes you have to make. Get rid of Crede. Get rid of Vizcaino. :headshake

QUOTE(shagar69 @ May 23, 2005 -> 11:19 PM) f***ing santana got killed against a f***in s***ty ass Tribe lineup last week and now hes gonna throw a CG SHO against us I remember Wilson Alvarez getting shelled in his MLB debut. His 2nd start: No-hitter. Same thing for Kerry Wood. Got hammered in his 1st start, struck out 20 in his 2nd. Just because a player gets drilled in their 1st start doesn't mean they don't have a chance to dominate the next time around.
