  1. QUOTE (JoeCoolMan24 @ Mar 12, 2010 -> 11:57 AM) Which again, is why you would buy a netbook for 1/3 the price, or a laptop for the same price, but can do a LOT more things. I mean, not being able to multi-task is such a killer. I wouldn't have bought it anyway, but once I found out is has no multi-tasking, it immediately became irrelevant. They are probably saving that for their iPad 2nd generation, so people will flip out about it and get excited again. Well, I doubt that, as the iPhone and iTouch still does not do multi-tasking. My other issue is I would never buy a netbook. I don't know if I will ever buy another windows-based machine. So my other option is a 13-inch Macbook, which comes in around $1199. And while the Macbook would be able to handle a lot more, I just don't know how much else I would use other than what the iPad does. And the Macbook does not have 3G service, which is a key feature from my perspective.
  2. The thing that pisses me off is that I can't use the reader function while listening to music in iTunes. It would be nice to not have to carry around 47 devices just to be comfortable on an airplane.
  3. Anyone going to pre-order? I am considering taking the plunge.

QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Mar 11, 2010 -> 08:45 AM) If it's anything like one of the Bourne movies than I'd doubt that. Hurt Locker was not like any of those. I read that it will have the same feel as a Bourne movie.
  5. I'm really surprised he even got this far...

QUOTE (The Gooch @ Mar 11, 2010 -> 10:09 PM) Hope your back is ok. You probably won't be able to tell until the morning. So is that twice this week you have done plyo? Because if it is, you are a champ. On my end, I think I'm about done with yoga. I am going to start replacing it with something at the gym, although I'm not sure what yet. Its just so repetitive and boring. After about 20-25 minutes of doing the same moves I get bored and have to stop. I think I could get much more out of this with some extended stretching and then some cardio. No, just once. The rest week schedules you to do Yoga/Core/Kenpo/Stretch/Core/Yoga/Stretch I just subbed out the stretch with the plyo. As for yoga, I basically just do the first 45 minutes. You don't find that challenging, especially the last few moves of the vinyasas? If you really can't stand it, I think Rock may have some suggestions for you. Or you can go to beachbody.com and look at the message boards for alternatives. Of course, you could also sub out yoga for cardioX or Core...

Woo! How about a little plyo on your stretch day! Although I learned to not try too hard to do Dominick's crazy superjumps....i think I may have tweaked something in my back....it went away in the middle of the workout, but we'll see how it feels when I cool down a bit. Regardless, love the way I feel after plyo!
  8. I know this isn't anything new, but I finally picked up Backspacer....as a long-time PJ fan, this is easily their best effort since Yield.

QUOTE (The Gooch @ Mar 10, 2010 -> 11:18 PM) I just started but this is happening to me this weekend. I will be gone for 2 days, and I am planning to just pick up where I left off. So, since I am scheduled for Kenpo on Sunday, I will do it on Monday instead, and start chest and back up again on Tuesday. Essentially I am just moving my rest day up (and taking two of them probably) and picking it back up on Monday where I left off. Sometimes it is unavoidable, but I am not going to try and make a habit out of doing this, as I have already notice progress from week 1 to week 2 and I want to keep it going. BTW, did ab ripper X again today, and yeah Adam is a jerk lol. I also don't like how the guy with the prosthetic leg can out perform me on plyo. Hah, yeah, just do the best you can, guys. Sometimes life gets in the way. The key is to keep hitting it on as regular a basis as possible. Don't worry, you're not going to melt or crumble or something if you take two days off and then resume. As for the prosthetic leg guy....if you watch him closely, he loafs it a bit. Don't let him psyche you out!
  10. QUOTE (kapkomet @ Mar 10, 2010 -> 07:54 PM) See Youngstown, OH. They did the same thing. Yeah, they are actually referenced in the article.
  11. QUOTE (chw42 @ Mar 10, 2010 -> 03:52 PM) I wrote that in a hurry, but the general meaning was... Had we played that game 163 in Minnesota and had the Sox lost the game, you wouldn't have heard much from our side because we lost the season series to begin with. There's no leverage there to back up a valid argument from our side. However, at that time, the decision of where the game is played was based on a coin toss and that's been the case since forever. In fact, in 1951, the Dodgers won the coin toss for a 3 game playoff and deferred home field to the Giants. So obviously, this wasn't a real issue until Joe Nathan made it one. Here are the winners and the site of the most recent tie-breaker games in the new playoff format. These are the results of the season series of those games and where it was played. Winners with *. 1995: Mariners* vs. Angels (King Dome, Seattle lost season series 7-5) 1998: Giants vs. Cubs* (Wrigley, Cubs won season series 6-2) 1999: Mets* vs. Reds (Cinergy, Mets lost season series 5-4) 2007: Padres vs. Rockies* (Coors, Rockies won season series 10-8) For the most part, this system had it right. The very first of these tie-breakers in the new playoff format actually had the Angels, who had won the season series, on the road. Apparently, none of the Angels players were all that bitter, at least not bitter enough to go out and try to change the rule. So this is something that has been in baseball for a while, just like the coin toss to determine who gets the ball in overtime for the NFL. Not a perfect rule by any means, but one nobody really cared for until Joe Nathan decided to voice his opinion because his team lost. I commend Nathan for being active and trying to make the most sense of the situation, but the fact of the matter is, had the Twins won the game, he wouldn't have said a word. I call that being a sore loser and not really being the professional that some of you proclaim him to be. You are making huge leaps with this logic. Secondly, the fact that you equate him complaining about a coin toss to being unprofessional is pretty ridiculous IMO. I've watched the guy pitch for 7-8 years, met him in person, seen him in all variety and manner of situations, and he has always been very professional in his behavior. But if you want to make your argument that he is not, hey, go for it.

QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Mar 10, 2010 -> 12:42 PM) Why on earth would you choose those two movies to watch the last two days Haha. Because I am stubborn. I have a Blockbuster mail account and my queue got a little thin and these two just happened to arrive in the mail together. In order to get my money's worth, I make certain to watch ALL of the movies that arrive in my mailbox.
  13. QUOTE (chw42 @ Mar 10, 2010 -> 04:11 PM) Hardly, we lost the season series. We shouldn't have gotten home field for that game in that perspective. However, since it was based on luck, and we had luck on our side, what can you do? A coin toss decides who gets the ball in the NFL for overtime. There's no NFL players complaining about that rule out loud. Umm....yeah
  14. QUOTE (lostfan @ Mar 10, 2010 -> 03:46 PM) I kind of don't really care, tbh, and I don't know anything besides that anyway. I mean since she was 15 and he was 16 wouldn't that make her a sex offender too? We were just asking this question in our office.
  15. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Mar 10, 2010 -> 03:35 PM) No, it was incest with his 15 year old sister. I dont consider that to be much better Considering what some of these guys are, does that bother you in regards to his play between the sidelines?
  16. It's disgusting, but from a player standpoint, it wouldn't bother me. Dude is weird, but not evil or a risk or anything.
  17. QUOTE (chw42 @ Mar 10, 2010 -> 12:45 PM) If he was professional, he would have done the same thing regardless of the Twins winning or losing the game. But as you admitted, he probably wouldn't have had they won. Had we had to play in Minnesota that final game, I have a hard time believing we wouldn't have heard some complaining done from our side.
  18. QUOTE (chw42 @ Mar 10, 2010 -> 12:34 PM) If the Twins would have won, I doubt he would have said anything. Of course not, there would have been no need. They play 162 games. Home field advantage is a huge factor in a ballgame. That factor, for the deciding game, is determined by flipping a freaking coin. Finding that such a ridiculous manner in which to determine such a vital factor leaves a bit to be desired hardly makes him unprofessional. But hey, whatever floats your boat.
  19. QUOTE (sircaffey @ Mar 10, 2010 -> 11:14 AM) I did last year. Heading back to grad school now (DePaul). What did you do for them?

The last two nights I have watched Transformers 2 and Jennifer's Body. I am shocked that neither were nominated for Best Picture...
  22. QUOTE (sircaffey @ Mar 10, 2010 -> 12:05 PM) I was their everyday last year. Unfortunately, the night life around the stadium sucks. Soho is a bar that most frequent after the game. It's kiddy corner to the stadium. That's the bar you're most likely to see the coaches and players at. I would sit anywhere down the 3B line. Between home and 3B is best as it gives you the best city backdrop. You get a good view of the field from any seat. You work for them, Caffey?
  23. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Mar 10, 2010 -> 10:42 AM) I know it is depressing, but for some reason, I have been totally addicted to natural disaster stuff as long as I can remember. What is Apocalypse Man? I haven't heard of that one. How the Earth was made and The Universe are very solid programs on History right now. For the most part I am totally down on that network as they have gone reality on me. I watch more History International than anything. I could live without Ax Men, Pawn Stars, American Pickers, etc. Apocalypse Man is a show about how to survive in the event of an apocalyptic event. There is some former Special Forces guy that hosts it and shows you how one might survive if he was one of a few humans left in the US or on Earth for that matter. A lot of it is filmed in the abandoned areas of New Orleans. I like the reality shows they have created. Not so much Ax Men or Ice Road Truckers, but I love Pawn Stars and American Pickers. Haven't really seen much of Madhouse yet. I also like their specials. The one about the Templars in the US was especially interesting.
  24. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Mar 10, 2010 -> 11:33 AM) I am totally addicted to that show. I like it too, but I find it a bit depressing. I think I like How the Earth Was Made better. Apocalypse Man is something you'd probably like if you dig Life After People.
  25. QUOTE (Y2HH @ Mar 10, 2010 -> 08:25 AM) They could just knock those buildings down and evacuate the area -- in 20 years the Earth will have done the job for us, for free. Look at Chernobyl. They use Chernobyl for the show "Life After People" on the History Channel a few times. You're absolutely correct, it wouldn't take long. You are even seeing nature starting to take some of the abandoned areas of New Orleans back after just a few years...
