Best advice is to find something you can dive into. You need to redirect your focus somehow. To anything productive your mind will let you. Work out. Dive into a new video game. Read the Lord of the Rings or something. That is the best way I know how to get through something like this....

QUOTE (chunk23 @ Jan 29, 2010 -> 10:41 AM) Yeah, there are guys who will vastly outperform expectations and guys who underperform. That's just gonna happen I don't want to derail the conversation too far, but I think it all matters on how they go about the DH situation. If they go with Kotsay/Jones, then yes, colossal mistake. If they go with Branyan, it's probably not a problem that they passed on Thome. Why are you going to sign Branyon though when you just told Jim Thome there are no at bats for him?

QUOTE (scenario @ Jan 29, 2010 -> 11:34 AM) Unless a few players step up and have substantially better than average years we could easily have one of the worst offenses in the league. And this from a fan (me) who usually is accused of wearing rose-colored glasses. Yeah, that is surprising from you... I think they will though... Think back to past years and what predictions have been prior to the season. Let's face it, there are several guys on this team who are going to perform completely differently than what we will predict them to. I think they will be ok, but I also think we will pay for the mistake we just made in bypassing Thome.

QUOTE (CryptviLL @ Jan 29, 2010 -> 09:55 AM) Real nice pictures, would love to get me one with Ozzie Fixed.

Did Legs & Back before work this morning. Started right out of bed at 3:30. I really will try to avoid this in the future...I think I almost vomited afterwards...but I have plans to go out right after work and didn't want to try and do it late tonight. Dedication, baby!

Hey Rock...you have an iphone? I am really concerned about getting enough calories, so I was looking for a calorie counter app. Livestrong has an awesome counter that keeps track of everything, down to the exact brand and type of everything you eat. $2.99 at the app store. Just an awesome tool for this workout plan. I have been totally calorie deficient and I am a bit concerned about my metabolism slowing way the hell down. So this will help.

I'm sorry to hear that, Jeremy. I am sure he will be up in the dog park in the sky, enjoying himself.

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jan 28, 2010 -> 09:11 PM) With the usual process of getting players to the US, he won't be able to be in a big league camp until 2011 if he is just now defecting. He still has to establish citizenship in central America somewhere before he can sign. He defected to Mexico in September. Dunno how far he is along in the process of establishing citizenship though.

Woo, yoga kicked my ass today. That plough thing is just ridiculous.

QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Jan 28, 2010 -> 05:53 PM) Yeah I also concur.

QUOTE (ptatc @ Jan 28, 2010 -> 01:37 PM) I disagree with this a little. How many managers would have allowed the starting pitchers to pitch that deep into games that often? Managers today like to pull them far too early to play the "safe matchup game." While I frequently disagree with Ozzie's managing or over managing to play the national league type games in the AL, I think his trust in the pitchers and letting them go was a great example of having doing what you think is right and not following normal convention. I agree with you in regards to the starting pitching. If Ozzie has a great strength other than keeping guys loose, it's his handling of the starting pitching. Since his first year on the job, he's had an uncanny sense of how to handle a starting staff extremely well.

Isn't Chase a fairly good hitters' park, actually?

QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Jan 28, 2010 -> 08:26 AM) I'm still trying to figure out what purpose or need this device is trying to fulfill. It's not enough for any business use and its not enough for social use. What is their target market here? How is this better than a netbook? Well, for one, I explained why someone like myself would use it, and bmags has explained why it is better than a s***ty netbook. But if you want to keep on ignoring the pure genius in this thread, than so be it...

QUOTE (Sox72 @ Jan 27, 2010 -> 11:12 PM) i'm in law school. can you give me a job. please? Hah, did you notice I said I'm not a lawyer? I went to law school, am currently paying for it now, and I work for the utility company in Las Vegas trading electricity for a living. See the lengths I had to go? Good luck, my friend. Law school truly is an amazing, wonderful experience. I would not trade it for the world, even though I don't know that I will ever actually practice.

I'm not a lawyer, but I did stay at a Hollywood Inn Express (went to law school). When posting info verbatim from another website, always link to the source. It is indeed not a good idea to post verbatim information that is "premium" content. You can link it, so the users who pay for the content can read it if you'd like. If you'd like to discuss some of the premium content, please, just put it into a synopsis of your own words for the other posters.

I live here guys, and I can tell you, it will work. People out here are getting their asses kicked. If you help them out, they will do their best to help you out.

QUOTE (CrimsonWeltall @ Jan 27, 2010 -> 06:44 PM) Wouldn't the alternative be a $300 netbook and not a $1500-2000 Macbook? I would not buy a $300 netbook if I planned to do anything important on it. Which is why, if I needed a true laptop, I would buy a quality laptop, like a Macbook. But I don't need a laptop. I need/want a bigger multimedia player with internet connectivity, works as a digital reader, and has basic word processing capabilities. Why would I buy a netbook if I wanted those things?

QUOTE (RockRaines @ Jan 27, 2010 -> 08:30 PM) Shoulders and Arms and ARX today. Made it through about 12 min of ARX before I had to quit. 12 minutes is good....I usually make it about 8 minutes. Ugh, Yoga tomorrow....
-
Knocked out Shoulders & Arms today. Did much better at the chair dips than last week. Making good progress. Received the real P90X dvd's and literature today. No more watching in front of the computer for me. 50-inch screen, here I come baby.

Well I don't have a laptop. And I am sure not going to read an entire book on my iPhone. Most travelers don't need a full-blown laptop. They need more of a media and internet device, which is what this is. And to think if I could have had this in law school, where I could have had law texts on it instead of a 25 pound book. I think this device really has a lot of value for people who want a portable device, but don't want to shell out $1,500-2,000 for a Macbook, or wouldn't use most of its functionality.

QUOTE (Athomeboy_2000 @ Jan 27, 2010 -> 02:27 PM) If this event doesnt end with "iPhone is coming to version" i just wasted 2 hours of my life. oh, you mean Verizon? I was staring at that for like 3 minutes trying to figure out what you meant.

QUOTE (Athomeboy_2000 @ Jan 27, 2010 -> 02:26 PM) The only "usable" model is the 32GB with 3G Why not the 64 GB?
