QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jan 24, 2010 -> 05:50 PM) Yeah. We're good on backup OF's. If anything, the only other position available is backup IF. It's why I come back to either Blalock or Hudson as worthy thoughts if we decide not to go with Thome. They can hit Left Handed (Hudson is switch), Hudson is really good with the glove and could take up serious IF time, Blalock could at least be an emergency situation backup IF. The issue with backup infielders is we really don't need another CI in my opinion. It's the MI that worries me. Hudson would not fit here, IMHO. I'll take my chances with Thome, keep Nix, and go with 6 in the bullpen.

QUOTE (CryptviLL @ Jan 24, 2010 -> 07:01 PM) Awesome, can't wait to get myself the P90X I have a digital copy I got for free from a co-worker. I love it so much I ordered the real deal from beachbody.com. I felt that for something that I am this pumped about, the developers deserve my money for it. It's a great program.

I honestly have always respected and admired Favre. Even when he was hooked on Vicodin so he could kick our asses on a severely sprained ankle. But for Bradshaw to claim he is the best he's ever seen, well that's just a clear case of a smart commentator having his mind ruled by emotion rather than reason. Favre is among the greatest ever, but that guy who played in the early game today has my vote, no contest.

Did Cardio X on my off day today. I am totally hooked, and the Cardio program is pretty tame by P90X standards, so I think I'll make a habit of this, if time permits.

QUOTE (Ranger @ Jan 24, 2010 -> 03:54 PM) I'm somewhat confused by this, as well. During the season, almost every bit of feedback I'd get on Thome was that fans were sick of his HR-or-nothing game and that they needed to trade/release/bench him. And now that he may not be coming back, people think the Sox need to sign him? There are plenty of people that don't want him to return. The camps are split fairly evenly.

QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Jan 24, 2010 -> 04:11 PM) Come on Jets!!! They're done. A valiant effort, but it's over.

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jan 24, 2010 -> 04:04 PM) What was the score mid-3rd-quarter of the last matchup when the Colts threw in the towel? I feel like we're almost just restarting at that point. 15-10 Colts

QUOTE (Soxy @ Jan 24, 2010 -> 04:47 PM) Oh honey, just walk away from the dead horse. I thought it was dead, too. Then I see that response. -

QUOTE (Tex @ Jan 24, 2010 -> 10:10 AM) If he set the message to music and played it at half time, would that be a problem? The Who may perform a song about dying young, are they just using being a famous musical group to influence your decision? Tebow's message is choose life, the Who will offer the balance, "I hope I die Before I Get Old . . . " When Joe Walsh performs One Day at a Time, a song about his alcoholism, is that wrong? I just want to listen to some music, why should I be exposed to that? Are they using their fame to influence? What's the need? When the NBA started their Stay in School campaign, wasn't that to use their player's fame? How about Reagan and "Just Say No", wasn't that using the office of the President to influence? To me, using an athlete's fame to sell cigars, alcohol, etc. should be far more upsetting to people than this. Yet, having children watch famous athletes promoting an alcohol product they may or may not have ever tasted, doesn't cause any outrage, but Tebow telling his personal, factual story, is upsetting? And by seeing through the message, are you saying that every person really should choose death? Why is a message about abortion so easy to support, but choosing life so upsetting to people? Tex, I think you are missing my point. If Tebow came out and said, "Choose Life" and was forward about that message, I honestly would have no problem with it. That is not (apparently) the message the Tebow's are promoting, however. They are arguing for something far more complex, don't you agree? They are saying (apparently) in cases of significant health risks to the pregnant mother, forge ahead and bring the pregnancy to term and have the child. I did, and my son is now a famous amateur football star. You honestly don't see the distinction? -
QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jan 24, 2010 -> 04:25 PM) I really haven't felt like the Jets have looked that good. The Colts secondary has been burned 2x that they shouldn't have, and I'm really not certain WTF was with the QB sneak from the 1 by the Colts. Manning figuring out the Jets D eventually, as expected. This is what he does. It's why he is the best. Colts D gave up some uncharacteristic big plays in the 2nd quarter, but I expect them to take the upper hand in the 2nd half as they so often do. 30-24 Colts.

QUOTE (G&T @ Jan 24, 2010 -> 07:16 AM) I'm excited that Apple is coming out with something new because it always cool. But I'll reserve judgment until we find out what this thing does. Yeah, their products are always so beautifully designed and intuitive to use, that they rarely don't wow everyone as soon as they are launched. But no one really has any idea what this thing is going to be capable of.

When you try to sleep, does your mind just run and run and run endlessly?

QUOTE (qwerty @ Jan 24, 2010 -> 04:58 AM) Movies, read, write... they are the three things i am generally always doing. I watch three to four movies a day on average. I'm actually watching empire records at the moment. I generally don't get to sleep until around eleven or noon... and then i get up roughly at one or two. But really when i sleep is nothing more than a crapshoot. I cannot remember something that was even close to resembling a normal sleep pattern in my entire life. I have not slept for more than four hours a day since early on in grade school. It's a terrible life style, but i'm far past the stage of it bothering me even remotely. My sleep was one of the reasons (one of many) why i dropped out and went the route of getting homeschooled. A common complaint is that there are not enough hours in a day, and i fully agree. But, i have actually grown to love the hours i sleep (and the amount), in my eyes i get to make the most out of life, because you can never learn/witness enough things. How on earth do you manage to function on such little sleep?

QUOTE (qwerty @ Jan 24, 2010 -> 04:33 AM) Pole. The man just lights one up after another. I truly think he is a lost cause at this point. Btw, it's pretty active for this time. Usually is just myself and one other random person around now. ... and another edit. I think i need to start a thread in which i update daily all the wacky threads from the past that the guests browse at this time of night. The s*** they look at sometimes i tell you... What do you do that you're around at this time of the morning?

QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Jan 24, 2010 -> 01:21 AM) Don't get it twisted. I want JT back. I guess I don't like as a fan feeling like we're at the mercy of a 40-year old DH. Ahh, I was just playing...

QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Jan 24, 2010 -> 12:09 AM) Wait, what? lol. Let me guess. Bill James, right? That's fine. We don't even know if Nix is going to make the team. Like I said, without CQ, Rios and Ramirez improving, and in Rios' case drastically improving, their production from 2009, this offense is still going to be below average. Jim Thome be damned. How dare you!

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jan 23, 2010 -> 04:17 PM) Some of us may have actually gone for tryouts for that show. They're not looking for people who might actually win it. Ok, spill it Balta. What happened?
