  1. QUOTE (Thunderbolt @ Jan 23, 2010 -> 12:10 PM) They just need a pen, their young pitching is phenomenal. Their young pitching is promising, I wouldn't say yet phenomenal. Tillman and Matusz are probably going to be solid young pitchers, but they are not their yet. More like where Danksy was a few years ago, IMO.

Finished Kenpo today. Not as easy as I thought it would be, but not brutal either. I actually found it fairly enjoyable. Tried ab ripper for the first time after Kenpo. Still pretty brutal for me. Could only get through the freaking phifer scissors before I was just wasted. Am too retarded to do reverse bicycles for some reason too... Anyways, I took a few pictures afterwards, since I basically finished week 1 today. Going to keep a "pictorial journal" or whatever of my progress as I go. Will post if people would like, but I am not going to plaster then up here without being solicited because I don't want to make anyone's breakfast come up in the morning. But if anyone is interested in seeing if they really do work, especially on a guy that spends a lot of time sitting at a computer every day (and you guys know I do), I will post them.
  3. QUOTE (CryptviLL @ Jan 23, 2010 -> 05:52 PM) Ok I want to add a Chicken Fajita Recipe to my diet. I've always loved chicken fajitas, and used the Taco-Bell package before. I kinda want to avoid using the pre-packaged meal this time so here's what I'm thinking: Get my own Salsa / Sour cream / Cheese / Chicken Breasts / Bell Peppers / Onions / Maybe mushrooms / Tortillas All sold separately. Cut the Chicken breasts into small slices, cook them over the skillet thing, eventually add in vegetables, and walouh, chicken fajitas. The question is: How do I spice these things? How do I cook them in the skillet thing (with lid over oven). Any info!? What I used to do was add some water and the pre-packadged spices and mix before in certain time intervals. Best thing to do is go to foodnetwork.com and search a recipe for chicken fajitas. They are bound to be a ton on there. My guess is that Tyler Florence's and Paula Dean's will be the most unhealthy. Otherwise, try googling "healthy chicken fajitas" or something like that. Of course you can get away with eating what you want. Your body will shred anything you put in it right now. Although substituting avocado for sour cream may not be a bad idea.
  4. QUOTE (bmags @ Jan 23, 2010 -> 01:46 PM) It's 5:30, i'm about to begin. http://www.maria-brazil.org/brazilian_strogonoff.htm http://www.cookbrazil.com/vinaigrette.htm + 2 bottles of wine, in case the food sucks (but it wont!) I don't have nutmeg, nor peppers, but f-all, i'm gonna make a champion. You'll do wonderful. Just follow the directions, have confidence, and stay focused.
  5. Received my two tubs of protein powder today. The cookies n' cream Muscle Milk Light came as chocolate. Oh well, I am too lazy to send it back and wait for the correct flavor, so I'll just go with this. Threw 2 scoops in a blender with some water, blended it up, then added about 4-5 ice cubes to try and thicken the texture a bit more like a shake. I must say, not too bad. A little bit much chocolate for my taste, but then again, that's why I didn't intentionally order the chocolate. Going to have one of these for breakfast and then possibly in between a meal or something and see how it works in conjunction with the workout program. Also bought the 100% whey protein, which I will use as a recovery drink. Will keep everyone posted about that too.
  6. QUOTE (Jenks Heat @ Jan 22, 2010 -> 10:37 PM) Didn't the Angels have 9 guys hitting .300 last year Sox need to find 9 new guys in their lineup to do this. Sounds like a theory destined to fail. Well Wite said it best....leave it to the White Sox to try and emulate something the Angels have NOT done well over the past few years...
  7. Ordered some cookies n' cream flavored Muscle Milk Light as a maintenance drink (I am in my first week of a workout program and want to make sure I start building muscle, as opposed to just taking off weight), and also ordered the cookies n' cream flavored Optimum 100 Whey Protein as a recovery drink. Going to have the Muscle Milk in the morning and the evening, with the whey after my daily workout. I will keep you guys posted with my experience with each product.
  8. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Jan 22, 2010 -> 10:51 PM) Thanks for the critique. I'm just curious why the responsibility has changed. I'm hoping its all BS because they really need another hitter. DA, I'm not trying to be condscending, but that sort of thing wears on everyone. You've made your point. But you've also stretched it to the point where it's neither accurate or fair as an analogy any longer.
  9. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Jan 22, 2010 -> 10:37 PM) I wonder if the Sox would have this supposed change of heart if it were any other team but the Twins rumored to be close to signing him. That's 18 games a year and the only team you can look at right now in the division and say they could be better than the Sox. If Thome helped them win and Jones and Kotsay don't play all that well, it would be something not quite as bad as the White Flag Trade, but pretty close, especially if we are talking a contract for peanuts. I do agree with you here though. I think him signing with the Twins is enough for Kenny to just say, I've had enough Ozzie, I can't standby and let the Twins sign him.
  10. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Jan 22, 2010 -> 10:40 PM) He also asked them in 2007. JD got some input too. I guess they thought Andy Gonzalez was enough. Wasn't 2006 the year Soriano was rumored to be coming to the White Sox? Dick, you make some very good points at times. I generally like you as a poster. But as J4L stated, you beat s*** into the ground so much it makes people crazy. We read you the first 157 times you typed that.

QUOTE (RockRaines @ Jan 22, 2010 -> 08:24 PM) Nice, keep pushing play. Did you take before pictures? You'll be surprised how much difference the first 30 days makes. I did. Took a few. Maybe I'll post my progress as I go. We'll see...I'm not much into vanity.
  12. It sounds to me like Ozzie has been saying he wants this sort of a team for a while now, and they have not been giving it to him. Now that we have not seem great results with Kenny's vision, Ozzie is saying give me a chance at this. It also sounds like Jimmy going to Minnesota is too much to handle for Kenny though, and he's saying "look Ozzie, even Minnesota, the team you're trying to emulate, wants to sign JT."
  13. QUOTE (knightni @ Jan 22, 2010 -> 09:15 PM) ESPN Desportes reports that Jose Contreras signed a 1 year deal with the Phillies, terms undisclosed. The contract is contingent on him passing the physical. I'm really happy for him. I'm a huge fan of Bronze Titan.
  14. QUOTE (Melissa1334 @ Jan 22, 2010 -> 06:31 PM) i saw again on mlb rumors, that damon most likely will go to the braves or tigers. so my question is: why did the tigers trade granderson? he wasnt making that much money, esp considering how good he was and how he was a leader. so they trade him and sign valverde and might get damon? i thought the whole point was to lower the payroll I think they traded him to lower payroll, and keep in mind, they did get some really nice pieces back, but now they are trying to take advantage of this market and getting players they didn't think they had a chance at. They are basically paying $2 million additional over what the Angels are paying Fernando Rodney? What a swap that was for the Tigers. Now they might get Damon for $4-5 million? Probably tough for them to pass up...
  15. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jan 22, 2010 -> 04:33 PM) There was more than a few stretches last year where it didn't seem to matter how they attacked him, he'd still get a double. Eventually they found a weakness though, the high, inside fastball seemed to be a pitch GB was willing and able to get himself out on through much of August. Fortunately, he began recognizing this eventually and laying off it, but he did struggle to adjust at times...

QUOTE (RockRaines @ Jan 22, 2010 -> 05:53 PM) Soon as you hit speed skaters you'll want to die. Thats why you basically get the weekend off. Kempo is nothing. Oh s***, those speed skaters were killers! But this stuff is getting easier for me now...at least I am not wanting to stop the thing and puke now. Workouts are still hard, and granted, I am sort of doing the junior version because I am using bands, but I am coming along just as I'd hoped I would. And I am already seeing some results...fitting into some clothes better already, and feeling better and stronger than I have in at least a year or so (when I stopped doing my cardio workouts).
  17. QUOTE (Pants Rowland @ Jan 22, 2010 -> 07:03 PM) I thought old people stay inside when it gets really snowy and cold. Are you saying all those saved spots are elderly people trolling about in the snow? I am sure there are some but doubtful it is any significant percentage. Yeah, elderly people shouldn't be driving in perfect driving conditions, let alone winter driving conditions.
  18. QUOTE (Cali @ Jan 22, 2010 -> 04:00 PM) Was thinking about this the other day, and even though I would hardly be considered a Chicago person as I've lived in LA more than I ever lived in Chicago, what classic Chicago traditions/food/sayings etc. do you NOT like/do/say whatever. I'm sure there are transplants like me who just stopped doing these things, or even people in Chicago who don't. Here are my sins: I don't like Deep Dish, I prefer the thinner crust. I prefer regular softball to 16", it's like playing baseball with a basketball. I like ketchup on my hot dogs, now, and when I lived there I liked it. I can't stand the "DA" thing. I can handle it when someone does a really good Superfans impression, but other than that, give it up. Or the other really Chicago dialect type of things, like "yous guys" or "dis n dat," or "dees guys" and that s***. I do love the bluntness and realness of Chicago though. I live in Vegas now, and the attitude in the workplace is such bulls*** it's unbelievable. If you aren't smiling at all times, you're negative. If you ever get intense about anything, you're difficult. I do a kick-ass job at what I do, and people know that. Most people in my office that know me now also find me quite friendly, approachable, and humorous. But since sometimes I get serious about s*** and want to actually get to the root of the problem (instead of analyzing it from 32 different angles), I am perceived as negative and difficult at times by my boss. Incredible.

QUOTE (RockRaines @ Jan 22, 2010 -> 03:35 PM) Legs and back are my least favorite. Wait until you cant get out of bed tomorrow morning because your legs are locked up. Awesome Ugh, great....exactly what I need....they're still sore from freaking Plyo...
  20. QUOTE (CryptviLL @ Jan 22, 2010 -> 02:50 PM) How's arms for tomorrow? I feel I have enough knowledge to do those pretty well tomorrow Well, if they're not sore, go for it. Just figured they may be a bit sore after doing all those pushup and what not today. I know it was a chest workout, but your arms were doing quite a bit too. It's certainly up to you...
  21. QUOTE (b-Rye @ Jan 22, 2010 -> 02:27 PM) Jose Contreras to Phillies pending physical...... wonder if Thome's next. Good for Jose. Didn't want to see him going to Japan.
  22. Nice work, man! Next you will want to do another subset of your body, as Rock said earlier. Maybe try working out your legs next.
  23. QUOTE (Thunderbolt @ Jan 22, 2010 -> 01:31 PM) Wow, Lance Broadway is freaking crazy. Ok, am I missing something in that article or what? All it says is that "at some point, Lance Broadway became involved." Are you guys reading something different?
  24. Sounds more to me like the only reason Lance Broadway is any part of this is because he is the guy with money...
