  3. Yuck...sure does sound like food poisoning. How did the chicken fajitas turn out, my man?
  4. So Martz has actually traveled to Nashville now to meet with Cutler. I really, really hope, should they hire him, that they push whatever buttons are necessary to get field turf installed at Soldier Field. Sun-Times

QUOTE (SoxAce @ Jan 31, 2010 -> 12:19 AM) Our old friend Orlando Cabrera to the Reds. m_sheldon TBrownYahoo http://twitter.com/TBrownYahoo/status/8438885824 Supposedly Jonny Gomes is close to signing a minor league deal with the Reds. The Rockies were quoted to have interest in OC...was that in a bench role?

  7. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Jan 30, 2010 -> 07:00 PM) Im not gonna lie, I came out of my crazy-bag when I broke up with my first love. I did stuff that I still think about and wonder what the f*** I was thinking. I dont know if you could have put a girl in front of me that would of caught my attention for at least a month afterwards. It was bad. Of course, immediately afterwards she pressed every button possible to make me go nuts, but still..... Honestly, everyone acts crazy at one time or another. One of my best friends is absolutely gorgeous - she basically has her choice of any guy (or girl) in the bar on any given night, and yet, I have seen her do more crazy s*** than anyone when a guy turns the tables on her. The key is to do exactly that - turn the tables and be confident and you can make anyone a bit crazy...
  8. QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ Jan 30, 2010 -> 05:50 PM) I don't see where we differ. Oh, yeah, I didn't really say....but your trick is an old one...but still very effective...Glad to hear it has been passed again to the next gen...
  9. QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ Jan 30, 2010 -> 05:22 PM) And if you really wanna piss her off, make the girl you nail one of her friends. I'm only half serious about that one. You know, a wise man once told me that the problem with girls is that we tend to put some of them on a pedestal. He taught me a trick to never letting that happen. I'll share it. Picture the most perfect girl you know. The most beautiful woman you have ever seen. This is the girl you most want to be with. Now picture her taking a dump. She ain't so perfect anymore, is she? Ahh, my friend, you show your youth....another thing to remember...for every girl, there is some guy tired of f*$%ing her.... The thing that has always worked for me, as simple as it sounds, is realize what a freaking catch you are. We all are a bit insecure at times, but you really think about it Blake, this girl is stupid for not being totally into you. Just realize what a freaking stud you are, realize that if she has half a brain in her head she will come to her senses and come running back to you, and in the meantime, put a smile on your face and go party your ass off and have the time of your life with any and every girl that fancies you. And do not contact her. If she contacts you, feel free to respond, but do so at your convenience. Don't be rude, but don't be as sweet to her as you used to be. She has to realize that if she wants to walk on you, she can't just come back and expect the same treatment whenever she chooses. If you do that, they tend to come back eventually.
  10. QUOTE (zenryan @ Jan 30, 2010 -> 12:21 PM) I wouldnt classify the two as best friends. And I doubt either would give up a few million dollars just to play with each other unless the team had a strong chance at winning a title. Well, I think signing Damon would give him as strong a chance at winning a titles as any team that is seriously considering his services at the moment (assuming the Yankees, Red Sox, Phillies, Dodgers, etc., are out). Secondly, it's one thing to give up a few million dollars out of the desire to play with a buddy. It's another thing to make a decision to play for less than you anticipated in lieu of retiring from baseball.
  11. They key that allows them to get by the federal aspect is to "decriminalize," not "legalize." Marijuana is not "legal" in Amsterdam. It is "decriminalized." This is how you can get away with all sorts of things that are technically in violation of the law, but the penalty is not enforced. They can choose to decriminalize the sale, production and consumption of marijuana in California without really messing with the federal issue whatsoever.
  12. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Jan 30, 2010 -> 10:16 AM) Damon would sell some tickets. If KW was saying with a straight face when he offered Torii Hunter all that cheddar that they were stretching the budget but Hunter t-shirt and jersey sales along with the expected increase in ticket sales would cover the deficit, then Damon is in the same boat although he wouldn't have to sell as many. Its not a long term committment. Its nothing that would be a burden for seasons to come. Maybe they are secretly negotiating with him. Maybe Boras is throwing out all these other teams in order to create a fake market. It just seems right now no team is going to offer Damon a big contract. I have wanted Damon from day 1 and in the back of my mind, I always thought the Yankees would be the biggest threat to screw it up if the White Sox did go after him. They have to be out now. I really doubt Damon wants to go to Oakland. He had a bad year in that park when he was in his prime. If it happened again, he probably would be done. He might take less to play near home in Tampa, but how much are they going to really offer him? Detroit? I think you give him a contract he can save some face on and Boras could spin into a good situation, he can be had. I agree with you about Oakland. I think that is an option of last resort. Sounds like Boras is trying to drum up interest from Detroit, maybe moreso than here because of his distaste for our FO as well as the Andruw Jones connection you have mentioned before. I would be shocked if we did sign Damon, but I suppose stranger things have happened.
  13. QUOTE (GreatScott82 @ Jan 30, 2010 -> 10:06 AM) yeah. they went to high school together and currently are nieghbors in florida. I'm pretty sure they wrestled together in TNA also. . good times! Well that is an interesting angle. I was not aware of that. My guess is Kenny may use AJ as a go-between to Johnny to try and mitigate Boras's influence.
  14. QUOTE (Brian @ Jan 30, 2010 -> 09:50 AM) Kiko Calero please A lot of teams seem extremely concerned that he will break down physically this year....The Cubs and Marlins have been looking at him for what seems like forever now.

    QUOTE (FlaSoxxJim @ Jan 30, 2010 -> 08:52 AM) Is that when management at the roller rink takes pity on the men who got dragged along and lets them drink until they black out? Unfortunately not. It was like "cosmic bowling" - everyone got a free glow-in-the-dark necklace/ring. There were more hellraisers there than I knew existed. At least I was able to block most of it out and insert my girlfriend into rollergirl fantasies...

    QUOTE (SHIPPS @ Jan 30, 2010 -> 08:43 AM) I seen "Its Complicated" yesterday. The torture we will endure for our women sometimes is just f***ing ridiculous. That's nothing. I went to "Blackout night" at the roller rink with mine and her kids... Consider yourself lucky.
  17. QUOTE (GreatScott82 @ Jan 30, 2010 -> 09:33 AM) Nice post. . Damon fits in perfect for the type of team KW and Ozzie want. Damon is in the stage of his career where an extra 2 million isn't going to make or break him and he is best friends with AJ. He isn't the prototypical DH- but either is the Kotsay/Jones/Vizquel platoon they have planned. A Pierre-Damon 1-2 punch would be very nice at the top! Get it done KW! He is?
  18. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jan 29, 2010 -> 02:04 PM) Priceless.
  19. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jan 30, 2010 -> 09:08 AM) Well considering that Damon supposedly has a 6 and a 7 million dollar offer, there isn't much point in getting excited about this. Right. Supposedly Damon turned down $7 million by the A's, who are suddenly in spending mode after missing out on Aroldis Chapman and being pressured by the MLB to spend more of their revenue sharing money (which probably led them to signing Sheets early this week). Reportedly the Rays have made an offer as well. The Sox just aren't going to get Damon unless they are willing to shell out $7-8 million, and the odds of that are probably extremely low. Downs would be huge for this bullpen. I don't like the idea of paying $4 million for him, but adding Downs would erase most of the question marks about our pen and give us one of the most dominant staffs in baseball. I wouldn't be opposed to adding him, for the simple reason that I can't control when and where they spend their money, so I may as well favor any move that improves the team at this point.

    QUOTE (CryptviLL @ Jan 29, 2010 -> 07:57 PM) Sorry to be pushy, or hasty - Just want to make sure this quick question gets out there, I am almost 99% sure this is right, but this is what I should be buying, correct: http://www.amazon.com/P90X-Extreme-Fitness..._pr_product_top Yes! Sorry, I was out last night and couldn't answer you more quickly. It looks like that is what you want. I ordered mine directly from beachbody.com, because there were complaints about people getting burned or ripped dvds from Amazon merchants, and not receiving the nutritional book or the exercise book. I ordered from beachbody.com and paid an extra $9 to get guaranteed DVD replacement for life should any of the discs get scratched or fail. You can go with the pullup bar if you want. I bought it myself, the Iron Gym Extreme bar, but I cannot use it because the doorways in my condo are too wide. But I think it was a blessing in disguise, at least for the time being, because I am getting so much done with the bands simulating pullups as opposed to struggling to do like 3. I do use the pullup bar for chair dips though, so at least it is being used for something.
  21. Is it really a matter of having gone through all these other candidates to "appease" others with in the Organization? Or are we more like the Oakland Raiders and no one wants this job?

    QUOTE (CryptviLL @ Jan 29, 2010 -> 07:08 PM) Ok Im buying this right now. Now I'm interested in the equipment. -Chair (Checked) -Yoga Mat ? -Resistance Bands ? -Pull-up Bar ? -Perfect Pushups (Check) -Dumbbells (Checked, partially, I got 2 15's, 1 adjustable dumbells, and some others, could use maybe 2 20's or something) So It looks like I need a Yoga Mat, Resistance Bands, and a Pull up bar? Is this all I would need? Any amazon.com links would be good Also One question: This includes my running schedule as well to? So I wouldn't be doing this workout everyweek and also running, running is involved in the workout? I just don't want to lose my endurance / heart health. Can you do pullups in any volume at all? I don't know why they recommend pullup bars so much when the majority of people can do like 3. I went with resistance bands instead, in 20 LB, 25 LB, and 30 LB form. I bought a workout/yoga mat. This is really all you need initially. I'm going to buy the adjustable dumbbells in a few weeks I think though. I wanted to make sure this is a program I would stick with before I went and spent too much money. The bands I bought were from Dick's Sporting Goods. As for your running, you can continue doing it, but I would scale it back if I were you to a few days a week. There is cardio involved here, and trust me, your heart will get plenty of work here.

  24. QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Jan 29, 2010 -> 05:49 PM) Thanks guys, means a lot. And I mentioned the first love because I have heard losing the first love is the hardest, and this verified it. It's actually kind of funny, because for some reason I was anticipating something like this and bought her a singing card yesterday that sings "You're my best friend" by Queen. I just wrote a note that basically said that no matter what happened, I wanted to remain good friends with her. I definitely have to keep the drunk dialing to a minimum, that has gotten me in trouble before. Be careful how you try to accomplish remaining friends with her...some people can pull off the transition without a break...others really need some time without communicating at all. It's up to you. Just try not to do things that make you feel better in the short term but you know could be really bad in the long term.
