QUOTE (Jordan4life @ May 21, 2014 -> 05:47 PM) They still get excited over regular season wins against Miami. That's all you need to know about this fanbase. And speaking of white guys, I wouldn't mind that Zach Lavine from UCLA. That dude has got athleticism for days. Yeah, you still don't get it. I bet you're enjoying your bandwagon ride through the playoffs though.

Home Improvement Issue
You'll want to be careful about buying a whole new unit. Make sure it's going to be rated to cover the existing square footage and also the additional square footage. Those units aren't cheap (several thousand +), so you don't want to have to upgrade later. You always could, but I'd imagine it's much cheaper to buy a single unit rated for what you want versus two. If it were me (super-cheap), I think i'd see how this summer goes. If you can live with the place with the one unit or maybe an additional unit for another window, i'd do that. If not, then look for the big upgrade.

*Official* Work Out Thread
QUOTE (TRU @ May 20, 2014 -> 10:24 AM) I need to get rid of bad stomach fat. I know its mainly due to my poor diet. I eat a lot of junk and constantly drink sodas. I also am not too sure about where all this weight really is. I know I have somewhat of a gut, but I have not noticed any increase in my pant size. I weighed about 205-210 coming out of high school. Right now I am about 230-235. Yet I have a pair of cargo shorts I bought in like 2004 that still fit the same today. So I know my waist isn't whats been getting bigger. I have had P90X for about 4 years now, and have yet to get past 2 weeks of it mainly due to just not wanting to do it. It's a little bit of everything that gets bigger: your face, your thighs, your butt, your gut, etc. I'm about like you, was always around 200 in high school and college, then slowly ballooned up to 235 10 years later. I can still wear old cargo shorts and even some jeans. Prior to getting sick this last week, my wife and I did what they call a military diet - basically eat 1k in calories a day for 3 days, and then try to eat healthier the next 4 days. I did it for two weeks and only lost a couple pounds (my wife lost like 8), but what it did was totally change the size of my stomach. Before I could put down a Pot Belly's big sandwich with no problem and room to spare. But after 2 weeks on that diet my stomach had shrunk enough that I can now barely finish a regular sized pot belly sandwich. I think that's the biggest key. We don't realize just how much we eat these days and the more we eat the more the stomach expands and we don't feel full as fast.

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ May 19, 2014 -> 09:20 PM) If you can't see the difference between these four teams in the last three years... Even if Rose was 100% they weren't a lock to win anything. They still had to go through Miami. And as Rock said, those teams have talent. Much more talent than the Bulls have had the last few years. Which is why they win. Obviously it would be ideal to keep Thibs and get Melo or Love on the roster, but if that's not possible and you reject a deal to get a lottery pick or a high caliber player like Love just to keep Thibs, you're dumb. He's not worth that much. No coach is worth that much. Coaching doesn't win you playoff games. Talent wins in the playoffs.

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ May 19, 2014 -> 04:55 PM) Winning games is a pretty important step on the road to winning championships. Underplaying that doesn't make any sense at all. The Spurs, Heat and Mavs, you know, championship teams, all disagree with you. Losing 5-8 games out of an 82 game schedule doesn't mean much in the grand scheme.

I'm not saying you should take a low 1st rounder for him. But if the Lakers offer up a lottery pick, or the Grizzlies can get a sign/trade done to get Love, you'd be an idiot not to take those deals, regardless of Thibs' coaching ability.

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ May 19, 2014 -> 04:38 PM) You have a coach that is getting you probably 15-20 wins above the teams talent level. Unless you get a return like that for him, why the f*** would you let him walk? I think that's overblown. He plays like every game matters, when everyone else in the league takes a night off here or there. That's great for creating a winning culture, but it's not going to win you championships.

I think you'd have to do a three teamer, but i'm just saying, there's bound to be a great offer out there. I dunno when Thibs became this untradeable asset. He's amazing, but talent>coaching every day of the week. Bulls needs talent. They have a great 6th man in Taj, a good, if not overachieving center in Noah, and a broken MVP. You can't run that crap out there for a third year and expect different results.

I wonder if the Bulls really will get an offer they can't refuse. That's a lot of chatter by a few different teams.

Bill Simmons @BillSimmons 17m Hearing that, if the Grizz totally clean house, the Memphis owner will look to trade for Tom Thibodeau + give him an SVG/Pistons-type deal. Bill Simmons @BillSimmons 13m PS: Bulls need assets for a run at Kevin Love, an extra 1st round pick would help. They'd hire Fred Hoiberg if Thibs got traded. Stay tuned.

Livingston also got hacked by Wade right there but no call. This series is oddly familiar. Play well and lead until 5 minutes to go and then Miami suddenly decides to play and it's all over.

Lebron mauls Johnson, no call. Johnson barely touches Lebron, foul. Surprise.

QUOTE (Jake @ May 13, 2014 -> 05:35 PM) The alarms were sounding is because things have to happen right now or else we won't be able to deal with the consequences much later. This is a great test of one of humanity's greatest weaknesses. We suck at making short-term sacrifices for long-term gains, even when we are perfectly capable of understanding how dumb the thing we're doing is. It's like the classic study where they tell the kid that if they don't eat the marshmallow in front of them for 15 minutes, they'll get to eat two marshallows. Those motherf***ers always eat the marshmallow before 15 minutes passes They said there's nothing we can do to stop it, so... what should we do?

Internet rumor is that he's a big drinker and wasn't putting basketball high on the priority list. I wonder if that's why he ran from the cops - he knew he was about to be f***ed for good.

Yeah, again, i'm not saying this is some Al Gore conspiracy. I'm saying the response is an overreaction and Gore played a large part in creating a general panic when it comes to the effect of climate change.

QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ May 13, 2014 -> 11:58 AM) Just want to make sure I understand this... A group of scientists use various mathematical and computer simulations, with hard data available, to show how this ice shelf is cleaving off and will melt and cause oceans to rise... and your reaction is to blame Al Gore? No, the response of "OMG THE ICE IS MELTING EVERYONE RUN FOR THE HILLS!" i'm attributing to Al Gore, who started this nonsense that climate change was an issue that would result in immediate, catastrophic problems. It's funny when you read the stories about this study, the fact that it's going to take HUNDREDS of years to melt is very much secondary to the story. It sells better when you say the ice shelf is melting and ocean levels will rise 10 feet and there's nothing we can do about. I think that comes directly from the success of an Inconvenient Truth and the like. It created an entire generation of people who actually think that way, and so of course the media is going to play it up to them. Hell, Balta, who knows this stuff better than anyone, said he would sell his ocean front property. Why? We have 2-300 years until this becomes an issue. And as I said before, whose to say it's going to be an issue then? Who's to say we'll even be on Earth then?
