  1. QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Sep 9, 2013 -> 02:57 PM) There will be some hilarious irony if he ends up convicted for threatening his wife. Although I dont really trust this lady. Still, if you're Zimmerman go live in a hole for a few years to avoid this exact kind of situation.

QUOTE (Chilihead90 @ Sep 9, 2013 -> 01:13 PM) I am surprised though that no one has mentioned either on here on reviews I read that the idea of Hank turning in to Walt was hinted at again last night when Hank called Marie to tell her that he won. When Walt finally took down Gus, he also called his wife on the phone immediately afterwards and said that he had got the guy, that he had won. Also, during both of these phone calls, Skyler and then Marie were standing in the kitchen at Hank's house. The great thing about this show is that just about every character has some serious flaws. Walt obviously kills people, so he's the worst, but everyone else has committed crimes and/or have their bad/immoral moments. SS2k5, they use montages enough, I think they could get all of that across in a single episode if they really wanted to.

Makes sense, but seems way too plausible IMO. I also still think Hank has a chance to live. I get the last call and the love you's and all that, but isn't that pretty basic television story telling? Does this show ever do that? Everyone who watched the episode last night is expecting them to die, so isn't this show's m.o. to turn the story on its head and do something that people aren't expecting? Maybe Jesse starts to run away and that causes a distraction and then Hank (and/or Gomez) have some time to either fight back or get in the car and drive away? To me it's a 98% chance Hank and Gomez are dead. But 2% of me says this is all a set up. Why else roll the credits in the middle of the fight?

I have more of a problem with the miraculous train robbery than the gun fight.
  5. Illinois playing crappy again. Need a score.
  6. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Sep 6, 2013 -> 03:25 PM) I disagree, I put them into the people who thought calculator watches were cool category. Bingo. Seriously, what's the appeal? I get Google Glass - that's basically putting your phone screen in your field of view all day. That's an extension of the smartphone. The smart watch is just an additional piece of hardware that doesn't offer you anything new.
  7. After three games I don't think it's all that great. It still has major issues with random blocking assignments that absolutely kill great plays. I'll admit that interior running is a LOT better than previous versions. But Nantz/Simms are already old. And it's annoying that the same animation is played for every timeout. Also, I have yet to figure out why EA refuses to put a simple "load previous game" or "continue franchise" button on the freaking home screen. Why do I have to drill down 5 menus before I get that option? Oh! Another complaint: the load screens for just about everything are obnoxiously slow. 7.5 out of 10.
  8. Just read an article about the Samsung smartwatch. Am I the only one who thinks this is the dumbest f***ing idea ever? Other than a select few hipsters, who is buying this thing? Who needs ANOTHER smart device on their person? I don't get it at all.
  9. QUOTE (IlliniKrush @ Sep 6, 2013 -> 09:49 AM) I'm sure a lawsuit will follow. Not much of a case there. He assumed the risk of operating that thing. And he was an expert on remote controlled helicopters.
  10. QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Sep 6, 2013 -> 10:50 AM) Ravens defense was fine for a good portion of the game. The problem was due to the offensive inconsistency they were forced to stay on the field far to long. Flacco just destroyed them that game. I dont know if its the big paycheck or what, but the guy was just not focused and playing terrible. The interception that should have been returned for a td was pathetically predictable. He wasnt setting his feet, he was throwing across his body, etc etc. Thats not what you expect out of a 100 million dollar man. Giving up 49 points isn't "fine" in my book. Attribute 2 TD's to Flacco and they still gave up 35 points. That's way too much.
  11. QUOTE (chw42 @ Sep 6, 2013 -> 09:54 AM) Already got it pre-ordered. Lol, the make it rain button for strip clubs sounds awesome.
  12. QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Sep 6, 2013 -> 10:05 AM) Ravens, Flacco specifically, really helped to give that game away. The Broncos offense looks good, but the defense may have some issues. (Edit) Flacco looked terrible. He was lazy with his throws, not setting his feet and just generally not playing good football. Flacco deserves some blame, but the Ravens D was terrible. And Harbough not trusting his guy to challenge that Welker catch (which totally flipped the game) didn't help.
  13. QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Sep 6, 2013 -> 08:49 AM) You can get a bluetooth OBDII module for $15-20 on Amazon and use it with an app on your phone to read CEL codes (and a whole bunch of other diagnostic information). You can reset the codes that way, too. Autozone etc. will read codes for free, too. But yeah, usually it's emissions-related. Leaky gas cap seal, bad emissions control valves/solenoids, bad O2 sensor. Reading the CEL code will tell you exactly what's wrong. Do you have a code reader SS? I just got to googling the issue with my Escape and people claim that unplugging the battery does not fully erase the error code (the car has to go completely dead without electricity, and i've always had my radio stations saved so I know that hasn't happened).
  14. QUOTE (farmteam @ Sep 5, 2013 -> 10:17 PM) Been driving with the check engine light on for 3 weeks now because I was waiting until I took my car in for new brakes (and whatever else goes along with getting new brakes), which should hopefully be sometime around this weekend since I just got the money for it. The check engine light is almost always an emissions issue. I've had a supposed cracked seal around my gas cap (even though it's a no-cap system) for months and it keeps telling me to fix it. If I don't, the check engine light comes on after a few days. I just unplug the battery for a few minutes and it goes away. It takes 2 weeks for the message to come back, so it can't be that bad.
  15. Oof, terrible way to go.
  16. QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Sep 5, 2013 -> 12:25 PM) Yeah, Illinois has a top 15ish class for the fourth time in five years and not a lot to show for it. Exactly.
  17. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Sep 5, 2013 -> 12:24 PM) Eh, its been fairly proven that star-value does have correlation to results at least in football. They did a study with draft results as well and there was a pretty good match between high rankings and draft position. I'm not disagreeing that having a roster full of 4 and 5 stars consistently is going to give you better results (over the long term) than having 2 and 3 star guys. I meant more than the ratings mean dick when you're talking about the 7th best class versus the 18th best class. Rankings mean nothing in that respect, it's the composition of the team that matters.
  18. Let's all keep in mind too that class rankings/player rankings mean absolute dick when it comes to results.
  19. QUOTE (He_Gawn @ Sep 5, 2013 -> 11:27 AM) LOL at the shift in thought now that Groce is doing it. *Might do it. We shall see. It's still a long shot to get one of these guys, let alone two. And IIRC Crean did it to guys he recruited as being saviors of the program. Groce hasn't done that. If he tells a guy like Tate you're going to be my star and help rebuild things and then boots him 2 years down the line in favor of a top recruit, sure, I'll eat crow.
  20. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Sep 5, 2013 -> 10:39 AM) =Will be close to on par with the top teams in the conference. It's all about sustainability, how well can you recruit year over year, not just one class. pipe down you, we'll take the excitement when we can get it!
  21. QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Sep 5, 2013 -> 10:23 AM) I wouldn't say every program does it. Far from it. And I wouldn't say those were cases of "creaning" How is it any different? You're telling a guy (or strongly hinting to a guy) that he should leave because you have better players coming in and won't get playing time.
  22. QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Sep 5, 2013 -> 09:59 AM) I would be disappointed if we started creaning kids. Every program does it, which is why Creaning was such a dumb criticism. Groce has done it by showing a bunch of players on the team the door in favor of transfers.
  23. I would welcome the inevitable "Grocing" backlash from Indiana fans if we got all three and didn't have the scholarships for them.

QUOTE (iamshack @ Sep 4, 2013 -> 03:32 PM) It strikes me as a bit strange that we have rules in war...watching you guys argue that it's ok to blow eachother's heads off with guns and grenades, but once you pull out the chemicals, that is downright cheating. I see one common thread here...people are going to die there in unknown numbers regardless of what we do...seems to me the best decision in that situation is to stay the heck out of it then. +1
