If anyone wants a great game go for The Godfather. Just picked that up for the ps3 a week or two ago and have been having lots of fun. It does a really good job of sticking with the movie and there's tons of stuff to do to rise in the ranks of the family. Personally I'm looking forward to Resident Evil. Who knows when that'll be out, but I'll be taking the day off work to play it. Ugh, I hate my game addiction... Anyone have any other good game recommendations? I've heard a lot of good things about Oblivion, but I dunno, it just looks so cheesy.

Remember though Chase has come out multiple times and said he won't do any sort of cliche ending. He keeps harping about the show being set in the 'real' world where 'real' things happen. He doesn't like to tie things up in a nice, neat package either. I personally see the show ending with maybe one more death and a mob war between NY and NJ, ending with Tony having to decide how to end it. One thing I love about this season is Phil's character. What a mean SOB that guy has become. Great acting there.

This entire thread is pointless. We all know the real solution: Alaska.

QUOTE(Texsox @ May 13, 2007 -> 07:39 AM) Most schools provide office space and logistical support for most student groups. In some areas the student groups are considered an extension of the University. I can see a difference between friends getting together and having a beer and an officially recognized student group throwing a party. I am certain that every student at that University now feels welcome to join that club, and I am certain that there are some University employees that appreciate their employer allowing them to be the object of ridicule. I love the world of conservatives you can walk around saying hey you nappy haired ho! Go back to Mexico you wet back ! Back of the bus, monkey. I'm just a stupid pollack! Whoo Whoo we're all getting along because we can insult anyone. You guys know how to party If this is such a morally objectable thing to do then why do we accept it in ANY setting? Why not create rules for the military that bans offensive speech? Why not make the University policy stronger, why not expel these students for their mean and hateful party? To me this is all crap. We make fun of people everyday in this society and only sexuality and ethnicity seem to be the important ones. Christians are made fun of daily (and no I'm not one of them really), fat people are made fun of daily, ugly people are made fun of daily, and hell, Cubs fans are made fun of every second of their lives. Yet it's all acceptable. I wouldn't give two sh*ts, and you know why? Because it doesn't affect my daily life at all. Same as being called a nappy headed ho didn't change a damned thing for those bball players, except for benefiting them, especially their coach, who is now a proud millionare thanks to her book deal. And I would probably call out Sharpton and Jackson. That make these situations moral issues. They try to make it seem like the world is ending everytime someone makes fun of a black person or a gay person. Of course I'd call him out if someone is making fun of a white straight person and he does nothing. As I'm asking Tex, if it's so wrong why is it acceptable in other situations? I don't think it's my conservatism that is coming out here. It's called being an adult. Didn't we all learn that sticks and stones can break our bones, but words will never hurt us? They're just words people. We give them meaning. The longer we keep b****ing and moaning about them, the bigger they become. Also, this isn't 1880 or even 1960. It's 2007. Why can't we accept that?

QUOTE(Texsox @ May 12, 2007 -> 03:33 PM) Does anyone disagree that a school sponsored group should be held to a higher standard than a group of friends getting together? That to me makes all the difference, especially if they are supported in any way by student activity fees. It's not as if the school is giving these kids money to throw a racist party. Why hold them to a higher standard? Because they're smart kids and they should know better? Does that it make it more right or more wrong? I'm in agreement with Nuke here. I just wish minorities would learn to give it back. Society gets along better when we can all laugh at each other. Someone (cough*liberals in academia*cough) created a nation of whiney This post has been edited by the Soxtalk staff to remove objectionable material. Soxtalk encourages a free discussion between its members, but does not allow personal attacks, threats, graphic sexual material, nudity, or any other materials judged offensive by the Administrators and Moderators. Thank you. that are offended at everything. And as I always point out in these types of discussions, if you look hard enough, you'll find offensive speech in everything. Funny how 90% of successful television sitcoms revolve around making fun of men, showcasing them as morons who couldn't walk straight if it weren't for their wives. Isn't this offensive to every man in the nation? Shouldn't we be boycotting these networks for their offensive speech? I'm calling my Congressperson.

You also missed the last clip they played after the credits. It was back on the bus and the entire office was singing the Flinstones theme song. It was pretty hilarious because everyone forgot the 2nd or 3rd verse so Michael just started imitating the music. I thought it was a pretty funny episode. Cracked me up when Andy fell into the water with his suit and floated away. "What? I can't understand what you're saying." "Just look at what I'm doing now and tell someone what you see." "Sorry Andy, I don't understand..." I was also glad to see Pam step up and tell Jim how she felt. If only she had done this a year ago...

I've been a big fan of this show since episode one, but I dunno, I feel this season its getting worse and worse. The success of season 1 wasn't really about the plot (him trying to land a movie and gain status), it was about the interactions between the characters and all the crazy stuff rich young people do. But buying a horse? Come on. I'm also really starting to get annoyed by Drama. He has the same type of lines in each episode, and they never do much of anything. And really the whole Medien (?) plot is pretty lame. "We've been working hard for two years on this project." Really? Have you? We haven't seen much of that, besides making one big movie studio exec pissy. And if it was that important why didn't they run to Ari the minute he said he could get it for him? Why dily-daly around last week and then suddenly get interested this week? They need to get back to the original formula: have the show be about the crazy things these guys do because of the money they have and the palce they live, with the occasional real actor/actress cameo appearance. No more Drama 'I got this bro' crap.

QUOTE(Jenks Heat @ May 3, 2007 -> 11:31 AM) The pregnancy death thing I find odd....Why didn't Rousseau and Alex die? Ben is the father and has never been off of the island?????? So being the ubber-Lost nerds that we are, my gf and I downloaded some of the Lost podcasts and listened to them on a drive down to Champaign. They're 30 minutes long, hosted by the two executive producers. They give little tidbits about the show and hows its made, answer questions from viewers (which often coincide with questions you have), squash a lot of ridiculous theory's and sometimes give you hints about important things to remember and things to look forward to. Anyways, about the comment about Ben never being off the island. In one of the podcasts someone had asked about this, whether Ben had ever been off the island. They made it a point to say that Ben was born on the island. He wasn't necessarily conceived there. I think that'll be an important fact later on. I was thinking that maybe Ben is the leader because he was one of a few who had actually be born there (his mother didn't die in pregnancy).

Just watched the episode last night. Thought it was ok. My main problem thus far has been the lack of any plot building; last week with Paulie, and now this week with Hesh. One little incident and Tony is ready to forget decades of friendship. I understand he's mentally not there, and that he suffers from relationship issues, but these ridiculous overreactions just aren't believable. It's one thing for him to blow up on Carmela. We've seen that he has a short temper. But he's ready to off Paulie because he realizes how annoying he can be, and he's ready to off Hesh because the guy is asking for some money back. This is especially true this week when Tony goes to confide in Hesh about Phil and his coronation dinner. I dunno, I just feel like these last few episodes have been so weak. I think I expected too much. The whole series, as great as it has been, will ultimately be 60 something 'eh' episodes with a few great ones mixed in.

QUOTE(AssHatSoxFan @ Apr 26, 2007 -> 10:45 AM) why does he want ben dead?? i hope you meant to say he wants his dad AKA the real sawyer dead not sure. maybe ben messed with him since the last time we saw him. The preview says he took 'ben' but then shows a guy with a potato sack over his head. it could be his 'dad' took on the name ben.

QUOTE(RockRaines @ Apr 26, 2007 -> 10:08 AM) No kidding. That and the (spoiler alert!!!) parachute girl saying that they found the plane and they were all dead, made me scream at the top of my lungs. I thought it was a good and bad episode. The side-story (parachute lady) was ten times more interesting than Sun's lame flashback. Everything in the flashback we knew already: Sun doesn't want to bring shame to Jin, Jin's father is a good man, Jin has a crappy relationship with her father, etc etc. Nothing new. I think the whole point was to bring Juliette back into the 'good' guys group. At some point they need to stop toying with us. Two weeks ago (or maybe one week ago, I can't remember), we see her talking with Ben about how they're going to come capture some of the losties and how she's in on it. And then in this episode she says she hates Ben. I think one of the main themes so far in the show is death and murder and the result of that. So far the people that have killed before (unjustified) have been killed, either by someone else or by smokey. For example Eko and Ana Lucia. Juliette killed the one Other guy and then was 'marked.' I think that somehow tells smokey that the killing was ok or justified so that it doesn't go after her. This could be a reason that Juliette can't outright kill Ben. She wanted Jack to do it. She probably has to play along until she gets another shot at it. This idea was sorta reenforced last night. Charlie killed before and has no problem killing the russian. Yet desmond says no and lets him go. This all fits with Charlie escaping death multiple times, he's supposed to be dead by now. It also fit with the preview for next week. Locke wants Sawyer to kill Ben becase he can't do it. He's been 'checked' by the monster in the past. He's 'looked into the eyes of the island' before and knows what the deal is. He wants Ben dead but can't do it. Sawyer is already 'tainted' because he's killed people in the past too. So that brings us to my snippet above. Five people are going to die before the end of the season. If you look through the losties and remember who has killed people and who hasn't, I think those people that are going to die become evident.

Dick move pays off big for Indiana cop

I still say it comes down to either killing out the NY mob, making him the boss of the entire area, or he bows down and retires. This will all come after Phil kills someone in Tony's crew or in Tony's family. My bet is either Chris or AJ. I'm leaning towards AJ right now. I think at this point, with everything he's gotten away with, with all of the close calls with the fbi/police, it'd be a really predictable ending if he would go to jail. I think it's gotta be bigger than that.

QUOTE(NorthSideSox72 @ Apr 23, 2007 -> 05:21 PM) As SS2K5 pointed out earlier... its amazing the extremities that this argument brings out. People on both sides of the issue manage to throw logic out the window to try to make their point. I believe 90% of the difference is where you grew up/what kind of environment you live in. And i'm not talking shady ghetto versus rich suburb. Anyone who grew up/lived for a while in a home with some land slightly outside of town will have a completely different view of guns than someone who has lived in a 3 flat or bungalo within city limits their entire life. It's different experiences growing up dealing with the police and with criminals (even if indirectly). And I love the attitude on this board sometimes. Why is it that you should never have X unless the government or society says it's ok. Shouldn't it be that you can always have X unless the government or society say its not. (the perfect liberal/conservative divide). Someone who owns a gun shouldn't have to prove that having it does good. Instead YOU should have to prove that it harms people in some way.

QUOTE(Rex Kicka** @ Apr 22, 2007 -> 10:32 AM) Let's be honest here, Imus got fired because he went over the line, and his employers - at least in this case - decided that they had some standards about what is and isn't acceptable. Whatever their motivation for it. The problem is that their motivation had nothing to do with the fact that he was degrading people and acting unprofessionally, it had everything to do with money. He got fired because sponsors began to drop out. The guy's been saying stupid stuff like this for years and his sponsors never cared. But why this time? Because it was a huge, national story. So they drop out and get huge PR brownie points for looking like the good company that has standards and cares. Same with MSNBC and eventually CBS. They all did it to save face. To who, I'm still not sure. I think they're all delusional if they think the average american, white, black, hispanic, whatever, actually cares about some guy making stupid comments, but that's a different argument. If we could look at this situation and agree that if you make stupid, unprofessional comments you'll get fired, I'd be fine. But this entire situation reeked of opportunism and had NOTHING to do with professionalism. The Rutgers coach signing a book deal about the whole situation pretty much sums up how ridiculous and overblown it was.

QUOTE(kapkomet @ Apr 23, 2007 -> 11:31 AM) I disagree with your assessment... but as you said, that's another debate. How can you disagree?

Is it just me or does anyone feel a little bored thus far. You'd think with only 8-9 episodes to go they'd start out with a bang or have 8-9 crazy episodes to close it out. So far we've gotten three slow episodes showing Tony's difficult position of wanting to be the boss yet wanting to end his life alive and not in jail. Gee, hasn't this been a running storyline for 6 seasons? Why re-hash this again and waste three episodes on it? The way these have gone, I'm thinking that Phil Leotardo goes after the Jersey boys, roughs someone up and then Tony has to decide whether to retaliate or retire for good.
