  1. If we work off the assumption that Burnes has similar trade value as Giolito as some posters are suggesting (but I strongly disagree with), you’re looking at a package along the lines of Vaughn, Kopech, Heuer, and Bailey. Sorry but that’s a HARD pass for me.
  2. From what I can see he’s arbitration eligible starting in 2022 so I’m not sure where this controlled thru 2025 is coming from either.
  3. If I’m a rebuilding team trading Giolito today, I’m asking for a top 10 MLB prospect, top 75 MLB prospect, and two more top 20 org prospects (e.g., something similar to the Chris Sale return). If that’s what it takes to acquire Burnes, I have ZERO interest.
  4. Aren’t you the same poster that advocated for that mlb trade simulator site? What’s your site telling you in terms of trade value of Giolito vs Burnes?
  5. There’s no question he has great stuff but there is more to valuing a starting pitcher than great stuff. For one, durability is a real thing and Giolito is a workhorse while Burnes has been anything but that thus far in his career.
  6. “Way more control”? He has one extra year of control. He’s the same age as Giolito. What again has he done to warrant a trade package that STARTS with a Giolito type return? Nah, Flash is crazy. And if he’s right, I want no part of a Burnes trade.
  7. Nope. You said a trade package to acquire Burnes STARTS with a Giolito type return. You’re nuts
  8. Unfortunately, most soxtalkers still undervalue Giolito. It’s mind boggling.
  9. Burnes DOES NOT have greater than or even equal trade value to Giolito as we stand today, 1/19/21, as your post stated. He simply does not.
  10. “What would it take for the Sox to consider trading Giolito? The answer to taht is where the package starts for Burnes” this statement is completely asinine. it’s not even worth expanding upon because it is so ridiculous. And you know who else soxtalk fell in love with last winter because he had “great stuff”? Jon Gray. I haven’t heard his name mentioned much this winter though.
  11. Yes and the other luxury that this team has that should aid the rotation. A deep and talented bullpen. On paper, the best in baseball.
  12. Giolito, Keuchel, Lynn, Cease, Kopech, Lopez, Stiever, and Lambert is decent depth. And they’re still going to add another proven starter as well as a spring training invite or two to a vet. They can always trade for a starter in July if needed as well.
  13. Futures betting odds think so. In fact, the gap between the White Sox and Padres to win the 2021 World Series is less than the gap between the Padres and Dodgers.
  14. Still don’t get it. So you’re thinking the Bears are on the verge of winning out?
  15. Wait, I don’t get it. Mitch is Rodgers and Rodgers is Cutler?
  16. Yea, I mean it’s really clear he’s just trolling after that post
  17. lol. Jose Abreu isn’t a star but Blake Snell is? Now I know you’re just trolling. And Keuchel has had a better career than Snell too. I guess there’s another star signed by the Sox.
  18. He was absolutely a star when the Sox signed him. And if Abreu had started his MLB career in his low 20s like most of these other guys, you’d very likely be looking at a dude with 7+ all star appearances and perhaps 2 MVPs. As an MLB rookie in his age 27 season, he was an absolute monster at the plate. It’s unfortunate we weren’t able to see this guy hit during his age 20-26 seasons. I think if he had started his MLB career sooner, we’d be looking at an Albert Pujols like career.
  19. You’re still underselling Jose here. A questionable star, seriously? He’s made 3 all star appearances (would be 4 if last season wasn’t so messed up), won rookie of the year, and won an MVP. How is that a questionable star? You’re not making sense. And this is all after a he was heralded as the Cuban Babe Ruth (obviously he was a star there too).
  20. Jose Abreu is and has been a star during his time with the Sox. You and many others here take him for granted. I don’t agree with this but most posters here feel Grandal is a star (top 2 player at his position).
  21. After these trades, there’s a good chance it will be
  22. Looks about right except I think the Yankees are a bit overrated there.
  23. Behind Twins and Astros? How do you figure?
