  1. This team is starting to feel it. Look out AL, here come our Sox
  2. The constant negativity gets old. And the crickets when they do win is very apparent.
  3. Oh man, the haters about to get real quiet if the Sox take the first two in this series…
  4. Is he a better option than Sosa at this point?
  5. They really need to call him up. He solves a lot of issues for this team.
  6. Let’s go Sheets. 3 run bomb to give Verlander the L would be so sweet.
  7. He’s clearly not ready. When Leury is a better option you know it’s bad. Sucks Mendick got hurt.
  8. I’ll continue repeating it until the comparison is no longer relevant. Braves were 59-57 after 116 games, 3rd place in the division, 1.5 games out of first place. A lot can happen over 46 games to end the season.
  9. Maybe it’s just me but I feel much more confident in a playoff series against the Astros with a starting rotation of Cease/Cueto/Kopech/Giolito than the Lynn/Giolito/Cease/Rodon they used last year.
  10. That viral video of him pinchrunning Engel last night is my favorite
  11. I don’t care what fangraphs says, Cueto has been every bit as good as Rodon this year. What a pickup as Rodon’s replacement
  12. Not sure why you’re giving Tatis the benefit of the doubt. What has he done to earn that?
  13. Very possible. Preller seems to agree based upon his comments yesterday.
  14. Those are some BIG assumptions. I think many White Sox fans are underestimating the severity of this situation (probably because they like to shit on Hahn for the trade). How much value does an oft-injured, immature, PED user have? Especially one that is signed for $300M+ over the next 12 years? This is a very bad situation for the Padres. You can tolerate some of his antics if he’s performing at a high level but if his on field performance drops off after he stops using PEDs (and he will unless he’s dumb enough to risk many more millions), he becomes an enormous liability for many years. I’m sure the Padres would love to dump him but he’s untradeable at this point.
  15. Except that Shields has been a non-factor for years. The Padres have to deal with this mess for another 12 years
  16. Not really. He was only making $5M this season and $7M next season so he isn’t losing much and the Padres aren’t gaining much, relatively speaking. Unfortunately for the Padres, they heavily backloaded his contract. Ouch.
  17. Didn’t say that. My point is did the Padres really fleece Hahn if Tatis becomes a financial burden on the Padres for the next 12 years? Sounds like a lose-lose for both sides to me.
  18. I’ve been saying it for awhile. That contract is going to look like a complete albatross in the near future. And the “fleecing of Hahn” is actually going to be a significant burden on the Padres in the future. Isn’t it ironic?
  19. But this begs the question… is the player that was traded even the same guy if he starts juicing after the trade? Reminds of when the Sox traded Sammy Sosa. White Sox Sosa was a different guy than Cubs Sosa. Completely different human beings really.
