QUOTE (bmags @ Aug 10, 2015 -> 03:33 PM) No I get that, but Young was probably the only defensive player who played above expectations last year. On our boring, predictable pass rush he was able to beat the tackle consistently. Just sucks for him, but obviously great hearing Houston is rejuvenated. I get what you are saying. Its like, they are going to force themselves to make room and find spots for all these other guys who were terrible at football last year and the one guy that outperformed expectations is the odd man out. I personally would try as hard as I could to find a spot that fits Young.

I have been throwing Schwarber love since the start but just like Bryant the most important part is how he adjusts when the league adjusts to him. Who knows, he might adjust like Beckham did...which was never.

QUOTE (Brian @ Aug 7, 2015 -> 01:03 PM) Maddon says Castro not just getting a day off today. This is the Cubs lineup. Another bust of a prospect having his Cubs career coming to an end. He isnt a Theo guy though, or is he? QUOTE (fathom @ Aug 7, 2015 -> 01:06 PM) Unfortunately this move makes them better, assuming Coghlan isn't Micah Johnson-esque defensively at 2nd. Once Baez comes up and plays second and move Russell over to short that may become their best case scenario.

They have speculated that Kane didnt like how Foley introduced him at the parade saying that he has grown up. Kane refused to shake his hand after that? And that is what lead him to say what he said about not acting like a grown up next week. I didnt watch the parade so I dont know how much truth there is to all of this. If it is true I think I hate his guts even more now. Disrespect Foley who was giving you a sincere compliment?.. Motherf***er.

QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Aug 7, 2015 -> 08:35 AM) Matt Spiegel used this piece as the center of an article he wrote for the Daily Herald yesterday. Whaaaaaaaat? Very nice. -
QUOTE (Benchwarmerjim @ Aug 6, 2015 -> 06:05 AM) Not that I expected the Twins to be in the playoffs this year to begin with, but they are in free fall post-All Star break and lost the Wild Card slot. It has at least been a fun season for you guys. It has been agonizing to watch the Sox for 95% of their games.

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Aug 6, 2015 -> 04:31 PM) Just to note - replacement level does not equal "league average". Wikipedia says it does!

QUOTE (AustinIllini @ Aug 6, 2015 -> 03:34 PM) Sorry, but the recent NFL struggles with violence against women is precedence enough. Either way, the EA sports cover is gone. They suspended Brady more games than they did Hardy. I dont know what type of stand they are taking on behalf of women.
-
QUOTE (AustinIllini @ Aug 6, 2015 -> 02:47 PM) I am real, dude. The NFL punishes people who settle or are cleared. I expect the NHL to do the same. Why are you lead to believe that all other professional entities will act as the NFL does? They arent quite the model of conduct that everyone wants to follow.

QUOTE (Joshua Strong @ Aug 6, 2015 -> 02:43 PM) AN alumni from my fraternity chapter that I am pretty close with invented started this company and holds the patent on this. It's a modern gramophone with digital and bluetooth capabilities, while I am big on vinyl and record players the sound quality on this is unreal. http://www.gramovox.com/ That is really interesting. I would like to hear how it sounds. I am assuming there arent to many of these being sold in stores yet to hear it for myself.
-
Thank you guys. I am all about the sound that comes out. Thats why you want to listen to vinyl anyways. I might have to invest just a little bit more and go for the Audiotechnica if thats going to give a better sound then.

So he hints that they havent used analytics enough in scouting previously. -
If he isnt guilty of anything you would think he would have someone leak out whats going on and sorta dismiss a lot of the crazy rumors.

QUOTE (RockRaines @ Aug 6, 2015 -> 09:38 AM) Dan Bernstein jumps in the fray with a statutory rape allegation So he had sex with a minor?

QUOTE (Leonard Zelig @ Aug 5, 2015 -> 06:37 PM) I'm guessing you are looking for a turntable. My audiophile buddy has a really sweet setup and has a VMI, not sure which model. He also like Pro-ject & Rega. I am looking for record player just to play some old vinyls. Not gonna DJ or anything. QUOTE (farmteam @ Aug 5, 2015 -> 11:52 PM) I have a Crosley, it's not bad for being an "affordable" record player. Thats probably what I will get. They are cheap and look like they are easily transportable.
-
Can anyone recommend a good record player? I see a bunch of different Crosleys sold in a lot of places and their reviews seem to be pretty good and they are pretty reasonably priced. The best reviews I have seen on RP's seem to be the Audio Technica brand.

ESPN Jeff Dickerson reports -Chicago Bears offensive coordinator Adam Gase said Wednesday that after six training camp practices, embattled quarterback Jay Cutler is "further ahead than everybody else" on offense in terms of understanding the new scheme Gase brought with him from Denver. Adding- "His intelligence is way better than what I thought," Gase said. "His ability to communicate with his teammates [is impressive] because he's further ahead than everybody else. He's able to get our wideouts on the same page." Gase is falling for it too. LOL

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Aug 5, 2015 -> 04:32 PM) They walked Abreu and Cabrera intentionally and then walked Garcia unintentionally, the Garcia walk was with the bases loaded and that drove Eaton home. 3 straight walks, 2 intentional, to end the game. LOL

what happened? at work
-
I was of the belief he probably wouldnt make the team either but you never know when you have a guy like Mills who has sucked and a new staff looking for guys to step up and show they deserve it. Tough break for Ola.
-
No Trayce? Thats actually really embarrassing.

QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Aug 5, 2015 -> 01:11 PM) Gracias. Now lets hope the Sox can go on a run like the Angels did prior to the deadline (19 of 21). I want the Sox to be relevant. That winning streak was fun and reminded me again how fun it is when your club is good. Why your positivity doesnt annoy me like others only God knows.
-
Since I am so tired of hearing Cubs talk (and the Sox are bad so no one talks about them) I actually welcome football talk.
