  1. QUOTE (ChiSox59 @ Jul 30, 2015 -> 04:36 PM) Must admit, Soxtalk's obsession with not allowing catch-alls is sorta.....bizarre. sssshhhhhhhhh he can hear you *whisper*
  2. QUOTE (Mbs1969 @ Jul 30, 2015 -> 03:19 PM) We are sellers! LOL
  3. Some would probably like for them to take Avi back. LOL Not me though.
  4. LOL That got me. I thought he was someone good that I just hadnt heard of before.
  5. A friend if mine who I really respect in his movie reviews said that Pixels was phenomenal. That was the word he used to describe it. Confused because there have been soooo many bad reviews of it by critics and the public. Anyone seen it here?
  6. QUOTE (LDF @ Jul 30, 2015 -> 02:18 PM) you may be right.... oh well i needed to rant a little. LOL you were just waiting for something to blow up on.
  7. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Jul 30, 2015 -> 01:08 PM) You never know, the wrong guy gets injured tonight, and the Sox could be selling tomorrow. I feel that the superstitious part of me should delete this post.
  8. Did I hear that Willie Young was going to be ready for the start of training camp? WTF happened there? I thought he was out til mid season from what they were reporting before.
  9. Confirming that the Sox are buyers really doesnt mean they are going to wind up making any big moves. Its really not even news to me at this point being they have been on a tear lately. They are usually buyers this time of year and sometimes they just dont have the pieces to get what they want. So we will see.
  10. QUOTE (chitownsportsfan @ Jul 30, 2015 -> 11:12 AM) Usually that means a blockbuster is about to go down right? This or they are trying to make a blockbuster move that might not turn out. Hawk will let us know after the fact that there was a huge move that almost happened.
  11. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Jul 30, 2015 -> 10:26 AM) The reports I heard this morning were that it was actually the Mets who rejected the trade due to concerns over Gomez hip. That was at least what I heard on the ESPN radio update on my drive in this AM. Yeah I heard that too which blows up the idea they are still going to trade him by Friday.
  12. QUOTE (fathom @ Jul 29, 2015 -> 08:23 PM) Both just pulled from game in the 6th. Almost definitely Astros or Cubs I would lean towards stros. I don think he Cubs are willing to give up Baez which would surely be in this deal if it's them.
  13. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Jul 29, 2015 -> 01:31 PM) I actually think Schwarber might end up the better hitter. So I don't care who the centerpiece of the deal is (between Bryan / Scwarber) but you need to give up a lot more then that. Castro can be part of the deal but if you include him, it is for payroll relief and has no value to negative value in grand scheme of the trade. A package of just Kyle and Castro doesn't work. It does work for Q though (probably not for the Cubs as I presume they aren't that desperate to get rid of Castro's contract). I have been beating this drum for a little while now. He is a monster and I would LOVE to get Schwarber in a Sox uni somehow.
  14. QUOTE (SouthSideSale @ Jul 29, 2015 -> 04:16 PM) @clarkspencer: Now hearing the trade is far from complete. Sources telling me it could be falling apart. Total confusion. #marlins Huge assumption on Dodgers part to think that someone would just take Morse off their hands right away.
  15. QUOTE (SouthSideSale @ Jul 29, 2015 -> 02:35 PM) @jaysonst: #Tigers called teams today & told them they're "rebooting." Will listen on David Price, Cespedes etc. More to come at http://t.co/gtnhE81RUu LOL The Tigers have been all over the place publicly in what they are and are not doing.
  16. QUOTE (fathom @ Jul 29, 2015 -> 11:56 AM) Supposedly Maddon told Castro he won't be traded "Son you have been soooo bad I can honestly say there is no way in hell we are going to be able to trade you".
  17. QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Jul 29, 2015 -> 11:42 AM) Mike Trout?!? You son of b**** that just might work!
  18. I do get the feeling that the Sox are going to pull off some crazy trade along these lines that will have us saying... Wow didnt see that one coming! Someone we probably havent even mentioned yet.
  19. Interesting. LOL Seriously.
  20. Hmmmmm Okay whatever. I guess I have no choice but to roll with this and be entertained.
  21. Its been said that Papelbon will only waive his no-trade if he is assured he will be their closer.
  22. QUOTE (The Ginger Kid @ Jul 28, 2015 -> 03:56 PM) FWIW, Heyman, Rosenthal, Bowden and O'Dowd just got done discussing Shark, none think he'll be traded, not with the recent surge. Hopefully Hahn is just using this idea as leverage in making a deal.
  23. QUOTE (Dunt @ Jul 28, 2015 -> 10:25 AM) Have you watched Avi play? Do you not recognize Avi's tools/potential? Do you not know he is 23 years old? Not specifically you but so many on here act as if Avi is a closed case bust already. I don't get it. Sorry that everyone isnt Mike Trout an immediate superstar.
  24. QUOTE (bmags @ Jul 28, 2015 -> 09:20 AM) Dick, many people believe Sox needed to stay patient and rebuild their young talent. Hahn has done a good job of that. JR/KW have shown to be aggressive and pushed up that timeline. We thought Hahn did so without compromising long-term talent. Turned out to be worst of both worlds. But if you believe in being patient, then you will be against the KW model (right now). Not hard to grasp. Woah Woah Woah. You are being a little too rational for some here to understand.
  25. QUOTE (soxfan2014 @ Jul 27, 2015 -> 05:19 PM) http://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2015/07/cole...ice-giants.html In this thread, Stark says Pirates have asked the Sox about LaRoche but since they haven't been able to move Alvarez, no move is likely to happen. I'd take 2 months of Alvarez for 1 year and 2 months of LaRoche. So you are saying there is something brewing?!
