  1. I know many of you have suggested it is corresponding to our pitching roster moves but is there any chance this is a move ahead of a trade that is about to be done?
  2. QUOTE (fathom @ Jul 9, 2015 -> 05:23 PM) ugh, thought I was posting in the sox/cubs thread. sorry guys, I'll delete but i did too LOL I think we did? I swear something pulled the ol switcharoo
  3. QUOTE (bmags @ Jul 9, 2015 -> 05:20 PM) What happend here? I am actually confused myself.
  4. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Jul 9, 2015 -> 04:41 PM) Man, I just always like new cars. Once they get outdated or start to look worn I get rid of them. Personal preference I guess but I never keep them longer than 3 years, thats my max. My company also somewhat pays for that as well so for me it's just a nice luxury. I am assuming you lease them then?
  5. QUOTE (bmags @ Jul 9, 2015 -> 05:08 PM) Guys, dare to dream. I gotta say. I am at a real dark place in my baseball world.
  6. I dont think the Sox will be willing to take the hit of 100% tax penalty that it will take to sign this guy. I really dont see there being any other way to get him. The Cubs have seem to throw everything but the kitchen sink at these international players without a care of the penalty so I would bet they will probably get him too.
  7. The Sox still have to worst record in the AL right? I cant talk about Wild Card until they keep this up for another month and even then its just too late to decide you are going to play some baseball and make it to the playoffs.
  8. QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Jul 9, 2015 -> 03:29 PM) I don't want to have hope. But I do. Just keep winning. Nope. I won't have hope. I don't believe in this team. I still love watching a win but hope for this season?...no way.
  9. QUOTE (BrianAnderson @ Jul 9, 2015 -> 03:03 PM) 5 years ago I bought myself a #15 Gordon Beckham 1959 Jersey. This was after I bought a #30 Nick Swisher jersey a year or so before. That turned out awful. So I decided to go with the 1959 "nameless" jersey. All I can say is, I can't wait for Carson Fulmer to come up and rock #15. In the in between time - I have the coolest Tadahito Iguchi jersey ever. Beckham. Puke. Please dont curse Fulmer too, dude.
  10. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Jul 8, 2015 -> 03:55 PM) Lmao, this story has so many layers http://m.bleacherreport.com/articles/25179...paign=editorial Isnt Paul one of the players trying to recruit him back? WTF
  11. QUOTE (Brian @ Jul 8, 2015 -> 03:10 PM) Terminator: Genysis was nonsensical garbage. My one buddy said it wasn't good but fun. It's neither. I am hearing a lot of this but I absolutely loved it. If you liked the first Terminator I dont see how you wouldnt like this. It was the same movie but expanded upon.
  12. QUOTE (knightni @ Jul 8, 2015 -> 02:13 PM) I wondered why you wanted one. It's a shame that the Chrysler 300 died so horribly. Yeah. The Dan Ryan killed it. Glad I lived though. LOL
  13. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Jul 8, 2015 -> 11:11 AM) Jeep has had issues for decades. They are beautiful looking cars and do 4x4 right but they have horrific and I mean horrific build quality. I had one for six months. It was used but I had to bring it back to Carmax 3 times with water pump issues that they could never figure out what the problem was. After the third time I just demanded my money back.
  14. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Jul 7, 2015 -> 02:35 PM) f***ing water pump in my car exploded, driving into the dealership everyone knew it before I did. "Known issue." First thing really wrong with my jeep and I am obligated to give another car brand a shot here since I am almost due for a new car. Jeep has had water pump issues for years. I don't get why they can figure it out.
  15. QUOTE (ptatc @ Jul 7, 2015 -> 02:33 PM) I'm not saying he's right. It's just that KW brought JR his championship in his beloved sport of baseball. The only way KW leaves the organization is when he wants to leave. Regardless of what fans think, KW accomplished this and will be with the Sox. He cant even leave if he wants to apparently. Otherwise he would be in Toronto right now.
  16. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jul 7, 2015 -> 12:20 PM) Kenny Williams is a lot of things. Stupid is not one of them. This isn't Ozzie Guillen and his 5th grade education we are talking about here. Many smart men have failed at their jobs at some point.
  17. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jul 7, 2015 -> 12:05 PM) Kenny's ego wasn't talking in this last interview. It was a message to the rest of baseball to try to drive up the asking price for Samardjiza, and anyone else that people have interest in. He drove home the point they aren't selling, not for the fans, but for opposing GMs. Right now you are willing to give him the benefit of the doubt that I am not. I honestly would not be shocked if they didnt make any major moves before the ASB.
  18. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jul 7, 2015 -> 12:13 PM) I don't handle explosives for 364 days out of the year. Why on earth on one special day would I suddenly be an explosives expert? Liquor makes us all experts.
  19. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Jul 7, 2015 -> 12:00 PM) many darwin awards were given away on Saturday A drunk person is usually a stupid person.
  20. I do not look forward to the Cubs/Sox series this year. At all.
  21. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jul 7, 2015 -> 09:57 AM) It is a relationship. Kenny talks to them so that they can be used later. it is the same relationship that all GMs have with the media in this town, with a couple of exceptions. For some reason all I get when Kenny has been talking is his ego. I don't get that he has some grandiose plan or that he is posturing with the media or other teams. He wants to show that he is still in charge and the mastermind. He cant stand to be out of the spotlight that he had when he was GM.
  22. Why doesnt Kenny just keep his mouth shut? Does he think that putting off the perception of transparency is going to help them with the public opinion and support of Sox fans?... No its not helping dude.
  23. I just hope they dont have a delusional plan and not make any moves at all. I am afraid they are fooling themselves into thinking this team still has a chance just because they are 5 1/2 games out of the wild card. Sure the whole team doesnt need to be blown up but they should certainly be building towards next year at this point.
  24. QUOTE (HuskyCaucasian @ Jul 6, 2015 -> 01:25 PM) "parts of fingers and a lot of skin missing" I think that's all rumors right now. I've heard anything from minor damage to "might lose his hand". It had to be pretty bad to require a two night hospital stay. Usually even the bad injuries you are discharged after its treated and referred for follow up. Granted he is a wealthy professional athlete but still that seems odd to me.
  25. QUOTE (Eminor3rd @ Jul 6, 2015 -> 09:24 AM) This is consistent with what I've been saying all along. We need to realize that the league is changing -- the polarity of competing vs. rebuilding is becoming a thing of the past. Yes, the White Sox were trying to put a winner on the field this year, but it was NOT an all-in, do or die plan. I know, Balta, you are concerned about the financials, and I think what you bring up makes sense if we assume a static payroll and a new big ticket pitcher -- but it IS possible for the payroll to increase, and if the FO is stating that they are on pace for a three year plan, it's safe to assume that they have the resources they need. I think I had to be reminded of this. This was actually a big reason why a lot of us were as excited about the moves made when they were. It was because it didn't risk their future or making future moves if it doesn't work out. HMMMM we shall see.
