Bleacher Report NFL @BR_NFL 14m14 minutes ago Patriots reportedly asking for 1st-and 4th-round pick in any trade discussions for QB Jimmy Garroppolo http://ble.ac/2iqW8X6 Bears? He would be better than any guy coming out this year right?

Quintana Rumors: Round and round and round we go
shipps replied to GGajewski18's topic in Pale Hose Talk
I think we should probably get off the rebuild philosophy talk and go back to talking in circles about potential 4 way trades where everyone gets back insane returns. -

QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Dec 28, 2016 -> 09:58 AM) I'll never have a problem with "rushing" prospects because I'll always believe the best way to get better is to play against the best competition. That said, there's definitely no reason to start these guys in the majors this year, no need to start/add to their service time. You totally contradicted yourself in two sentences, Row. LOL -

QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Dec 28, 2016 -> 09:33 AM) You sound like a Cubs fan from 203 or 2014. Ask fathom. I told wim the cubs were coming and they were coming soon. The Sox would be about 2-3 years away from you being able to make that statement and then another 2-3 years until you can say I told you so. Its gonna be a long ride dude. I look forward to seeing these young kids come through and hopefully Hahn making a lot of shrewd moves but I know its going to be a painful ride. -

I am somewhere in the middle of J4L and ss2k with this. I am interested and excited because that s*** they were doing before didn't work and this is refreshing but I am still not looking forward to the guaranteed suck fest that we will be watching the next 2-3 years. I am not drunk off of the rebuild freshness. I know I am not going to enjoy much of what I see the next few years and neither will anyone else on this board, believe me. -

QUOTE (steveno89 @ Dec 28, 2016 -> 07:54 AM) Watch Moncada's 2016 hightlight video (if you haven't already) He really crushed some moonshots I actually didn't know he had that much power from the left side going up the middle and to opposite field. What a monster. -

Levine says that every major league team remains heavily engaged in talks for Q, so take solace in that my friends. -

QUOTE (Real @ Dec 27, 2016 -> 03:53 PM) imo asking that means you're devaluing Quintana, he's worth Meadows plus a couple more people over rate prospects way too f***ing much around here. I really believe the majority of the time they do. Over the years around here how many times when talk is about other teams prospects and guys are sooooo in love with some prospects that are definitely untouchable...then you never hear about them again or their status dropped significantly within a few months? -
QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Dec 27, 2016 -> 03:24 PM) I just read the full article on this list and hoooooooooly crap, it's worse than last year's. I honestly am starting to think the guy just makes stuff up. I don't mean subjective stuff like where he ranks players - everyone has their own likes/dislikes and biases. I mean factual information about players is just dead wrong, repeatedly. Velos are way off, what pitches they throw is wrong on multiple pitchers too, and some other info that is objective in nature or close to it. I rarely get on the cases of professional writers, because they know far more than I do. But Crawford is consistently the one exception for me, among prospect writers anyway. He doesn't see players in person. He fills in gaps by guessing and making s*** up. He uses stale info that is clearly from someone else without crediting it. I can honestly say that, for prospects in the Sox system, our FS writers are substantially more knowledgeable than this guy. That's not good for a writer being paid to be a voice of knowledge. I get the feeling you dont care for this guy's work very much. Its like you have a very negative opinion of his work because its absolute s***.

QUOTE (ChiliIrishHammock24 @ Dec 27, 2016 -> 02:34 PM) Writer Bill Madden was on MLB Now today and said that he has talked to people from both the Yankees and the White Sox and they said there have been no talks about a Quintana trade. He also said the White Sox guy told him the Sox have no inclination to move him either, unless they were to get a package GREATER than the Sale return. I find that pretty hard to believe at this point. -

Quintana Rumors: Round and round and round we go
shipps replied to GGajewski18's topic in Pale Hose Talk
I just picture myself reading through a thread like this a couple years down the road and thinking to myself... look at all these people who thought package A+B+C+D was too much for Q in which none of them turn out to be anything and the names now mean nothing to me. There are so many absolute opinions going on in a thread that has no absolutes in reality. I have seen it so many times over the years where people on here claim you cant possibly get (insert Prospect) because that is too much only to never here about the guy again. -

QUOTE (Jose Paniagua @ Dec 27, 2016 -> 08:42 AM) if we give the best starter, closer available + money, isnt that worth torres+frazier +more? I think that is probably why the Yanks are asking for Robertson now too. The Sox must be demanding a ridiculous haul and not budging on the asking price and feel as though that would take the sting away from giving that many talented prospects if they can bolster their pen again as bmags was saying. -

If his catching was up too par is his bat far enough along to actually be in the bigs now? Just curious.

QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Dec 16, 2016 -> 06:42 AM) House explosion last night in Homer, they were rerouting traffic and evacuating people in a pretty large area due to a gas leak https://www.google.com/amp/www.chicagotribu...android-verizon I live less than a mile away from the explosion. It seemed to me that Homer has no capabilities to handle any type of major disaster. They had terrible coordination of emergency management because the majority of the emergency agencies were a hodge podge team of about 6 or 7 different towns. There was little to no communication with the residents on what to do or what was actually happening. I think they did the best they could for what they have in resources but damn I hope nothing bigger than this ever happens in Homer. They still dont seem to know what happened exactly.

QUOTE (bmags @ Dec 16, 2016 -> 09:19 AM) I went last night and it was really good. Chicago performance just as enjoyable. Was more awkward first few 15 or so minutes to get into than I expected but fantastic as you go through. Also have had 4 friends get tix through lottery so may be worth trying those that could do last minute plans like that I have been checking periodically for some time now to find semi-reasonable ticket prices that arent 40 miles from the stage but just havent got what I am looking for yet.

Its just that...for a team that is rebuilding and not expected to really compete but still trying to court a less than mediocre FA with your manager and pitching coach is just weird. Best case scenario he does well and you trade him mid season right? Or are they actually thinking they are going to compete and think he can play a role? I am probably reading too much into it, it just seemed odd to me to put that much energy into getting a guy like Holland at a time like this.

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Dec 15, 2016 -> 03:12 PM) Dan Hayes @CSNHayes 23h23 hours ago Derek Holland was impressed w/ how #WhiteSox showed their interest. Both Rick Renteria and Don Cooper were involved in process. Why is this weird to me?
