Well the sox have alot of holes. Catcher, 2b, utility player, number 5 starter. Too many holes for 10 million
-
The score is reporting the Sox would part with two of the three players mentioned in this thread and get Javy in return. Quite frankly this is not that smart but certainly what the sox would do. In addition, even if done there is no way anyone can be assured we would get Delgado. Let me point out that we didn't get clement either although we were supposedly in it until the end. This whole game can become unraveled on the Whitesox. They don't know the value of the market.

I completely agree with this with a couple of comments. Everyone is looking at Pitching right now, prices are going up. Doesn't seem like anythign else is flying out the door. You cna solidify your catching position now, as well as, your 2b if you want. You can also sign El duque as your fifth for pretty cheap. I think we need to go into this type of direction. Focus on players that others are not focused on. Solidify your other holes. We have arguably the best bullpen in the division right now. That's to our advantage. Get your catcher that can hit or get a 2b that can hit. Then sign a number 5. We can still win the division.

I have no idea if they are sniffing around hudson other than Dick allens source. Eitherway we will get another starter, and I truly believe we will fill another hole even if that means expanding a payroll a few million dollars. Liek I said about guys night out, if I wanted to talk to woman for more than five minutes I would talk to my wife, she is better looking than most anyway.

speak for yourself funny boy.

so you think. your not the GM. Perez will go for 8 or 9 million same thing. I think we all like to play GM. Now we have an opportunity to have the best pitchign staff in the division. Since everyone is in love with Uribe and Harris. Then thats not a issue. The bullpen is taken care of. in fact I will contend you can traded neil cotts and not miss a beat. Only other hole is catcher which we can address now for 3-4 million or at the deadline if most of you on the board go to some games. Point is, the market drives the price. that's the way it goes, whether any of these idiots are worth it or not. If you don't get clement or Perez then what. Make a trade? then everyone will b**** your giving up the future. Get your pitcher, get your utility player and take your chances.

First we get pissed that the sox don't spend now we are unhappy that they are spending. Why the hell do we care if they pay him ten million. If thats what they feel will make the team better its there money. Can't have it both ways. That's the going rate today, if others are willing to pay that than thats what will happen. Its just one of those years. After Clement Perez's asking price will go up as well. Its the market, just like last year, there were a bunch of cheap guys out there. The market drives the price, whether they are worth it or not.
-
its the same when people go to work at there jobs. I have been with my company 14 years, others come in and get better packages, its the going rate despite the fact I may be better and or smarter at my job. I choose to stay rather than go. Its life.

Ahh Honey I have an offer to go to southern california, basically we can buy any house we want on the ocean and put our newborn in private schools all our life. On top of that, we can even buy a house for your folks so they can live in the area, we still don't have to give up our house in chicago if you don't want to but the good thing is you can wake up to sunshine and shop till you drop on rodeo drive. What do you think? My wife would have gotten a lift with steffs company who would be moving us as we speak. the point is, I am sure they like the midwest and chicago, and I hope he stays here but all things equal the wife will not make this decision.
-
Let me say this, I hope we are not relying on Matt Clements wife to make the decision. Now I am not saying she can't help, which I am sure she can, but she can hurt as well. My wife loves chicago and all her friends, but show her southern california , with sunshine, and she would like that too. Women are fickle...all the time. Just ask steff!

To put in context Gammons was on live yesterday during the Spod rumor in the afternoon about 30 mintues prior to the deal happening and he said Lee was going to the Dbacks for Johnson.

this was great

I thought I heard that a couple weeks back, wasn't he one of our prized pitchers two years ago? My case exactly. JimH? Calling your name
-
Yea I got that part but what did they do with Meaux
-
your studying psychology? Sociology?, libralism? Were all good people ism? Ah I guess this should be in green
-
ok so break it down what does this mean?
-
Oh steff, there are many young hot guys out there!
-
My opinion, Cotts is great trade bait. Maybe by the Summer trade deadline. I can certainly live without him,and the way the bullpen is lining up he and adkins are turning into mop up guys at best. A young lefthander draws interest.

saying what? they should upgrade other areas?

How we do fall in love with ballplayers
-
Don't worry knowing the sox majewski will be back
-
Yea thats what they said about Honel, then he got hurt, hey what were corwin malones early stats, Scott Ruffcorns. Royce Ring,Point being, I don't care unless they are on the team. Otherwise they are just trade bait.
-
I truly agree, i like a strong system, but I think the Sox and many times people on boards, not just here, fall in love with alot of unproven players. many things can happen to these kids. People cry when they are traded only to find that most are never seen again. I don't understand the Green sarcastic thing, but my email, albeit truthful was a bit sarcastic. I could really care less about these minor league players unless they can play in the majors. Royce Ring where are you. We all cried, and now nothing.

I know....Just emphasizing how the Sox over evaluate there players.
