  1. timo needs to leave real soon.
  2. maybe Ozzie needs to start managing instead of trying to give him a decision.
  3. the sox will still lose unless they score 9 runs
  4. he will need to quickly learn how to not throw alot of pitches, at this pace, he will be out by the 5th
  5. QUOTE(ptatc @ May 16, 2005 -> 01:32 PM) I don't read the paper or listen to the radio. I will only listen to the XM music or comedy channels until the next game. It also depends on how they lose. If its a close well played game it doesn't bother me as much. But errors, poor pitching or poor baserunning drive me nuts. Really hmm, losses don't bother me at all. I just carry on like it was the offseason. I must say I don't seem to be a volitale type.... A happy face all around.
  6. QUOTE(Dick Allen @ May 16, 2005 -> 01:16 PM) If Everett starts playing the field, what's the over/under on how many days until he is on the DL? It has to be under 5. then I guess we won't have a problem then. If someone gets Dl'd then thomas plays everyday. here is my viewpoint, one of these guys, dye, everett and or thomas will get hurt again. If thats the case all will be ok. If they don't get hurt for any reason then I think everett will play instead of dye one day, pods the next day, and they will give rowand a rest once a week, then move pods over to CF and everett and dye will both play. If thomas foot does get better than he may even get a shot at first once a week. In this scenerio thomas can play four or five days a week and everett the same. Its anice problem to have and good power off the bench. Its not like DYE is tearing up the league. thomas if healed is a presence in the lineup and he gets on base. It will be great to get him back. Even if he plays every other day its a start.
  7. QUOTE(sox-r-us @ May 11, 2005 -> 08:13 PM) El Duque is at 85 pitches. This better be his last at bat since we need to keep him injury free Give Botch, Vizcaino and Walker the 7/8/9 unless hell breaks loose in one of them what, please no, not that order
  8. see this is the bulls*** that pisses me off. basesloaded nobody out and we can't get a run in. Bulls***.
  9. QUOTE(fathom @ May 11, 2005 -> 08:01 PM) Thing is, the Sox could win 20 games in a row, but if we then lost a game in which we should have won, but there were dumb decisions made by the players or manager, then I'm going to be negative about the game. If we clinch the AL Central with a month left to go, I promise you won't hear a single negative word out of my mouth (unless Ozzie overuses the pitchers). Nuff, said nobody disagrees. I personally think ozzie is nuts, but the nut job is winning. hopefully we can pull this off.
  10. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ May 11, 2005 -> 07:56 PM) Try green text there quicky Ha what could you mean by this?
  11. QUOTE(fathom @ May 11, 2005 -> 07:56 PM) The thing is, it's a gamethread. Look at any gamethread on any other site. There's going to be a lot of positive and negative posts during nearly every single game. I'm fairly confident that we're all Sox fans on here. So true fathom, our attitude changes with the inning ..the batter. its normal stuff for passionate fans
  12. I always knew they would pull this out. I am always positive....
  13. QUOTE(Steff @ May 11, 2005 -> 07:47 PM) Then there will be no need for the negative assholes to post here 54 times a day... I can hardly wait... its a board, they can post anytime they want, life is not full of sunshine. I would rather have someone with an atitude than nothign at all. Sox fans are completely different than Cub fans. Steff you are invested in this club, you know people and you like it like that. I don't nor do I care to know the players. Just win, just play hard.
  14. QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ May 11, 2005 -> 07:44 PM) Another warning track shot. Walker better not learn japanese or he will jinx our only good hitter.
  15. QUOTE(Steff @ May 11, 2005 -> 07:40 PM) Good Lord.. it's May 11th.... can't wait to see what happens to this place in August when we lose more than 2 in a row. we will be out of it by then
  16. I just got home and don't feel like going throught he thread I am sure someone has brought up how Dumb perez is and why the hell is he in this lineup? thought so
  17. QUOTE(JimH @ May 11, 2005 -> 03:49 AM) There ya go. That is all, over and out. blow it out your ass,and don't take my snipets. Everyone contributes to every loss as well as every win. Bullpen blew it tonight. Go lose yourslef somewhere.
  18. QUOTE(JimH @ May 11, 2005 -> 03:45 AM) Are you high? I do need to pick up those tickets at some point though. Have to pick up Aunt B at Midway, need to leave here by 1:00 latest. forgot,
  19. QUOTE(JimH @ May 11, 2005 -> 03:43 AM) Please re-read. I am not making generalizing statements. I am saying there were several critical factors to this loss, the biggest of which was the performance of the bullpen. In your world, the relief pitcher gets a ground ball and the fielder makes a bad decision ... it's still the relief pitchers fault. It's not as black and white as that, but we are arguing over how much milk was spilled. Fact is, it spilled. I am not stupid, after Konerko makes that huge f***ing mistake which you pointed out we were still up 6-5. Now what. WHo gave up the other two runs. Was it the bullpen? I think it was. And yes I expect the bullpen to do whatever they can to hold the lead. That is what they are suppose to do. yes I think they failed. So everyone contributed to a loss. they always do but the bullpen has not been good lately, and I believe it will get worse before it gets better.
  20. QUOTE(JimH @ May 11, 2005 -> 03:37 AM) Did they retro the DL stint so he might be available for Sat. and Sun.? sorry retro to may 5th he is out all series, just heard on the radio he wasn't going to make the first two. They are high just like you. care to watch the game somehwere tommorrow
  21. QUOTE(JimH @ May 11, 2005 -> 03:33 AM) Can you not read the 15 times I have said 9 walks??????? Whoever was pitching gets a weak ground ball to 1st base with a slow runner on 3rd. Pitcher does his job, no? Konerko stupidly tries to get a double play on a fast runner (Singleton). One run scores. They lose by one run, every bad play - by every player - is magnified. You are smarter than this, it was a f***ed up bullpen but when you lose by one there are lots of factors. contraras gave up 5 walks. After he left we had a two run lead. The bullpen gave up 4 more walks and an HR. You blame konerko..fine. If the bullpen didn't walk those guys it doens't matter.
  22. QUOTE(JimH @ May 11, 2005 -> 03:33 AM) Can you not read the 15 times I have said 9 walks??????? Whoever was pitching gets a weak ground ball to 1st base with a slow runner on 3rd. You are smarter than this, it was a f***ed up bullpen but when you lose by one there are lots of factors. there is always other factors jim, you can say that every game. Konerko may have contributed to one run but the bullpen failed. Bullpen needs to come in and protect a two run lead. If they give up one run they still protect the lead, they gave up three.
