  1. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Mar 26, 2007 -> 02:08 PM) So what record on impeachments can one be referring too? So now you would have the best of both worlds . . . If the Dems start impeachment proceedings, you can say they are no better than the GOP when they went after Clinton. Call them hypocrites, etc. If the Dems don't, then you can call Bush's terms as more ethical or whatever you want because no one was impeached. Nice. I'm not guessing if that bird in your hand is dead or alive.
  2. What percentage if our Troops would you want to pin down indefinitely in one area of the world? I'm with Balta, we would need a draft to accomplish this and be able to respond to an attack from another country.
  3. QUOTE(Queen Prawn @ Mar 26, 2007 -> 02:59 PM) I was thinking it might have been a very slight concussion because on Saturday I couldn't stand up for too long without getting dizzy or a little nautious. If you start thinking that the GOPerheads around here are making sense, see a Doctor right away.
  4. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Mar 26, 2007 -> 01:53 PM) How many successful impeachment trials has the Bush admin had? Same as Clinton IIRC.
  5. Doesn't sound like a concussion, so that is good.
  6. QUOTE(FlaSoxxJim @ Mar 26, 2007 -> 11:49 AM) I might have had a couple beers before penning that email. Really?
  7. QUOTE(mr_genius @ Mar 26, 2007 -> 01:17 PM) but FlaSoxxJIm, i thought the United States was an immoral country founded by white male oppressors? every move we have made throughout history has been evil. we are the cause of all the worlds problems. Yep, that is how the GOP wants people to think of Liberals. You've learned the lesson well.
  8. I will hold out hope that this will be taken care of without an impeachment trial.
  9. I am glad that when they appended a PhD upon your name, you did not lose the ability to clearly express your views. Your students would be so f***ing proud
  10. I would hope Kenny's due diligence would include a physical exam after verifying the names of the players involved. I never get tired of that laugh

93, Central Division Title, coming out of a tough three way race. Ozzie implodes, explodes, and serves a 10 game suspension. Crede is team MVP. Garland wins 20. New closer emerges. Two guys from AAA see major time in the starting rotation. Can I be any more definitive?
  12. QUOTE(FlaSoxxJim @ Mar 26, 2007 -> 10:35 AM) Maybe the real problem is more that at the top, we don't live up to our values anymore. Torture, rendition, indefinite detention without charge, going to war under false pretense. . . all seem less than the American ideal. But I would add, not just at the top, but throughout our society. We are much more tolerant of immoral, unethical acts. I see it changing, starting with corporate reforms and believe it will filter to other areas of our lives.
  13. QUOTE(kapkomet @ Mar 26, 2007 -> 09:17 AM) Supposedly, where they have reshuffled the deck, it is getting better. More later from me on my ideas, hopefully. Don't have time right now. This is more about psychology then anything, Tex. We can win any war we want, both psychologically and "shock and awe" (pure war power, if you will.) The truth is, America can't handle the reality of what "war" means. It's probably the video game mentality, which is really, really unfortunate. Thinking about psychology and the possibility that our withdrawal could make us more vulnerable, to make your theory valid, wouldn't the thinking of an enemy state be along these lines? Yeah, they will retaliate and bomb the crap out of us, killing tens of thousands of our citizens, and remove us from power, perhaps we'll be hanged, but they will leave in three or four years . . . Are you thinking what we did in Iraq wasn't enough of a deterrent?

  16. QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Mar 26, 2007 -> 01:10 AM) Teachers should get fired for scheduling tests on Opening Day. What the hell. Students should be failed for not being smart enough to avoid an Opening Day test.
  17. Still, I believe our system fixes itself if we let it work. I think an impeachment trial would be a huge mistake and I frankly haven't seen enough that I would pin personally on Bush.
  18. Another vote for the crate. Something that was never mentioned, I don't believe you should ever discipline the dog while he is in the crate. Make it a safe place for him to be. Soxy, I had never heard about the cleaning up thing, interesting.
  19. QUOTE(NorthSideSox72 @ Mar 26, 2007 -> 07:58 AM) This may indeed be about his Presidential positioning. But I still agree with him. Bush thinks he is a king, and Congress is only an inconvenience for him. I believe every President has felt that way, most have been better at hiding it (Clinton) or just giving them money (Reagan). It's part of the balance and works pretty damn good.
  20. QUOTE(kapkomet @ Mar 25, 2007 -> 07:51 PM) Let's just bury our heads up our collective asses, run away, and let the people who want to do us harm bomb the s*** out of us in our own towns. It will happen. Kap, not all the terrorists are in Iraq. While we are stretched this thin, we can not respond with full "Shock and Awe" anywhere else in the world. Perhaps terrorists would be even less likely to bomb us if they knew the entire US military had nothing to do but retaliate. As it is now, we can barely keep up with the demands in Iraq. Both in terms of soldiers and money.
  21. Two thoughts for the price of one post. Impeachment would be a terrible thing and I have not seen enough to warrant impeachment. As soon as I read my Spidey senses pop up and I start to weigh these comments against what votes is he trying to pick up, if any.
  22. It is far easier to have everybody do a little to reduce their impact that try and have everybody riding bikes and driving 2 cylinder hybrids.
  23. I wouldn't suggest calling a Mexican in my neighborhood a "beaner" unless you happen to know him and also be Mexican. I've even had to learn to be careful about calling the climbing devices we use a carabiner instead of the slang shorthand "beaner". A twenty year old joke from any comedian, even Bill Crosby could be forgiven or explained as too old to know. The "who will build the wall" joke, I've heard a dozen times around here and seems obvious enough that almost anyone could have written it. And we could probably go one by one and find some benefit of the doubt. But when you have a whole pile of something that smells like s***, it's s***. As we say on the border, AMF as in Adios Muther Focker.
  24. QUOTE(Queen Prawn @ Mar 24, 2007 -> 11:41 AM) Did you know it hurts really bad when you whack the side of your head on a steel pole? It bleeds too. To make a really good time out of the ordeal, you HAVE to experience a nose bleed where the blood is shooting out of your nose. Good times I tell you. I hope you are feeling better.
