  1. QUOTE(YASNY @ Feb 24, 2006 -> 10:19 AM) As I said, leftwing websites.
  2. QUOTE(YASNY @ Feb 24, 2006 -> 10:08 AM) As for the well supported points, they are usually supported with drivel from leftwing websites. You would think as biased as the media is, liberals could just go to any mainstream media site and there it is . . .
  3. QUOTE(Soxy @ Feb 24, 2006 -> 09:48 AM) To be honest, for me it falls under the common sense bracket. Part of it is probably that I'm so close in age to the students-- Just a guess, it was a shy guy he was really wanting to ask you out came up with a lame reason to talk to you chickened out.

    OMG! Is that a two button mouse on a Mac? I hope they aren't making this too complicated for Mac users. Add a scroll wheel and they may lose their entire customer base I kid, because I care™
  5. QUOTE(kapkomet @ Feb 23, 2006 -> 02:49 PM) CIVIL WAR! BUSH DID IT! (*sigh*)... it's not to diminish what's going on, but hopefully this little ploy will fail ... No the US did it. We elected the war machine.

    neither. Both are great songs, just not what I would call classic rock. Perhaps pop rock and folk rock.
  7. This all goes back to the poor moral from Clinton gutting the military
  8. QUOTE(NUKE_CLEVELAND @ Feb 22, 2006 -> 02:46 PM) How about the fact that they sold weapons to Saddam in violation of the arms embargo. Does that make them not trustworthy? Didn't we sell weapons somewhere also against an arms embargo? I guess we're not trustworthy either.
  9. According to Paul Harvey, the average Iragi is 65,000 times more likely to be a victim of a violent crime now then when Saadam was in power. I didn't hear what source he was quoting, but I assume Paul checked it out. Not certain what conclusions we can draw from that. I'm certain however, that the average Iraqi is grateful we are there protecting them and making the world a better and safer place. They'll just have to tolerate living in a war zone for a little while longer.

    QUOTE(EvilMonkey @ Feb 21, 2006 -> 10:55 PM) Tex, the NRA members give their money to the group voluntarily, not thru forced deductions like unions. Don't like what the NRA is doing with your dues? You can quit and never pay again. Don't like what the union is doing with your dues? Good luck trying to quit the union. While you could always quit your job, somehow that doesn't seem like a fair comparison. Then elect new Union leadership. Don't like the PR campaign the Union is running? Elect new representation. The fact of the matter, the lobbying efforts of the Unions are a prime benefit to their members, or at least it is an important part of the Unions' activities. Want to prevent off shore products from coming in? Elect those representitives that will be sympathetic to your cause. Want tougher workplace laws? Help get those people elected. This is where the Union can have their greatest impact. We are saying it's for political reasons, and that is correct. But isn't that a major reason why unions are still around? I'm not pro-Union, but I can see why a law preventing them being active politically is unfair. You know the executives and the companies are donating, why not the Union? And no one can tell me the GOP would be objecting if the money was flowing their way.

    I'm feeling a swing to the Dem side of the aisle. I only wish the party would start swinging to the right, and meet some of the moderate Republicans. Hell, I'd like to have the party swing a little to the right to meet me again.

    QUOTE(The Critic @ Feb 21, 2006 -> 12:27 PM) No, you don't get one anymore. If you go to Spring Break at YOUR age, you'll be taken for a creepy old dude or a narc, or both! That's why I lie about my age and say I'm 50. I am a cool grandpa, not some creepy middle age guy.
  13. QUOTE(The Critic @ Feb 21, 2006 -> 02:39 PM) Oh, I disagree. When I see those pictures from Arizona, I can just FEEL the season coming! When there were 6 inches of snow on the ground ( not that YOU'D know... ) and all we had to watch is the stumbling Bulls and the bumbling Blackhawks, THAT's when it felt like baseball season would never get here!! I use to say that the baseball season in Chicago started when the Bulls played their last game and ended when the Bears played their first. As I've gotten older, and moved from Chicago, baseball has become my #1 spectator sport.
  14. QUOTE(YASNY @ Feb 21, 2006 -> 01:30 AM) Here's the ultimate dimemma. If you are Cub fan sitting in the Wrigley bleachers and catch Bonds record breaking homer, do you throw it back? However, if you are a Cub fan you'd be asking who's Barry Bonds?
  15. I hate the tease. I keep looking at the calendar and seeing Opening Day. That is still a long way off. Spring Training makes it seem even longer to me. I could ignore the baseball news when it is all rumour and financial stuff, but this is actual leather and wood.
  16. Of all the comments, I still like SS's Who? The best. Sitting around like jilted lovers, saying I hate this guy, seems so funny to me. Decisions are made all the time in baseball regarding who plays where. We should be grateful that winning a WS isn't the only criteria. If it was, imagine everyone wanting to play in NY for the MLB minimum salary. Players talk about wanting to win a WS, and for most that is true, but it doesn't dominate their entire existance. They know how uncertain anything is in sports. Outside of hardcore Sox fans, who would have predicted a Sox WS win? Did Dye make his decision on best place to win it all? Maggs is gone, long live Dye. Frank is gone, long live Thome.
  17. don't discount the power of the hair. My 880 time was screwed when I worked for Six Flags and had to cut my hair. I was so use to the pattern of my hair hitting my shoulders, I instantly knew my pace. No hair, weird feeling, I was confused.
  18. I find it hard to believe that players are sitting around crying, wishing they won the WS last season.

    QUOTE(SoxFan1 @ Feb 20, 2006 -> 07:37 PM) Touring Alaska with my Godfather from April 7th to the 16th SOunds way cool. Where are you going and how are you traveling?
  20. We just have to give up our freedoms or the terrorists and criminals will win. Everyone will be ok with their every move in public video taped. Plus, think how great American's Funniest Hoe Videos will be with everything you do in public recorded.
  21. QUOTE(Jordan4life_2006 @ Feb 20, 2006 -> 06:56 PM) So basically, if you weren't part of the 05 championship team, you ain't s***? Lucky Frank, or his achievements wouldn't have amounted to s*** without him winning that World Series ring.
  22. Which situation was worse? Maggs stiffing the Sox Sox stiffing Frank Both are examples of teams and players looking out for their best interest. Frank was no longer a value to the team, so he was shown the door. There is no loyalty in baseball, or any sport, and it seems silly that we should somehow demand it from players. Certainly every player wishes they won the final game of the season, but do you really think Clemens wishes he had signed with the Sox? I can't believe people really "hate" someone over this. BTW, wasn't Dye a greedy bastard for signing with the Sox as a free agent?

    QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Feb 20, 2006 -> 05:59 PM) Haven't we started drilling for oil there yet? Way off shore. There was a bunch of rigs that came into the Port of Brownsville for repairs after the hurricane.
  24. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Feb 20, 2006 -> 05:51 PM) Who? ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ best quote so far.
  25. QUOTE(NUKE_CLEVELAND @ Feb 20, 2006 -> 05:16 PM) Ronald Reagan. Id have about a bazillion questions to ask him but Id really love to find about all that went on behind the scenes that helped end the Cold War. Debt, lots and lots of debt.
