One of the most basic protections we have as Americans is from our own government. The right to free speech allows us to clean up our own government. If something illegal is going on, whether it is illegal truck leases or CIA ilegal prisons, cruelty to prisoners, outsourcing interrogations to countries that allow torture, etc. we can and will talk about it. So I don't care who is in power, if something illegal is going on, I say let's shine a light on it and fix it.

I saw that and started laughing. How many other qualified people has the government hired and placed in important positions? And I know Bush isn't the first President to have a loser in such a position, but this is clearly over the top.

The GMs must handicap what Kong will be playing like in 2011-2013. That is the core of the negotiations. Past performance of course comes into play, but what will he do during the contract, that's the crystal ball work. Once a GM has a higher regard for a player, he's got a better chance of singing the guy, good or bad.

My info is a few years old by now, but fwiw Sunday afternoon games use to get crowded with the sweater and suburb crowd. I have gone there so often I take sideroads leaving and head north to Division(?). by the Pizza Hut. There is so much security and cops around, I never worried. Just don't stop in Lake Street for a date. The neighborhood isn't the best, who really wants to live that close to a stadium? Be prepared to learn some new words. 14 wins in an average year. Young guy. Looked great in the post season. Boras could get him a $30/3 deal right now. A lesser agent could get him $35/4 IMHO he's a solid #2 on most staffs right now and a #1 on a couple. How good would he look in Yankee pinstripes?

Paulie proved what he cold do under playoff and WS pressure. Championship teams pay for that. Middle of the pack payroll teams have to hope they have guys on the roster that will respond.
