I look at it the other way around. The toll is $.80, if you help us to eliminate some of the cost of collecting the tolls, (IPass) we will pass along some of the savings in lower tolls. It catches the casual user and the out of staters. Basically let people who will not vote against you pay for the tolls. Same thing with things like hotel taxes and rental car taxes. Take money from the tourists.
  2. I would be very worried if I thought my Supreme Court Justices could be influenced by a bust of Abe Lincoln or a $500 blanket.

  6. QUOTE (Beastly @ Dec 31, 2004 -> 02:08 AM) Well, thats the end of me here...wonder whats next for me at soxtalk... no threads being read, no replies or posts being read... I actually think its good that everyone is heard because then we can have a few laughs with posts... but I won't see any replies... Beastly, I wouldn't worry too much about the ignore feature. I can think of a couple examples of two people who get along with everyone else but each other. I think everyone benefits if they are not sniping at each other's posts.
  7. QUOTE (kapkomet @ Dec 31, 2004 -> 06:09 PM) I did a google search on "tsunami wave videos" WOW. Some of the videos are absolutely STUNNING. If you have a bit of time to do this, the power and destruction is absolutely INCREDIBLE. I don't know to laugh or cry at some of the people who moved closer to see the waves . . . :headshake

  12. Did anyone hear that Mariotti is out of his radio gig? I've gotta say Jay's days to graze on maze by the bays in May, is now in a maze of haze. I guess it's God's way to say Jay you're a very negative man and shouldn't be on the radio.

  15. I actually took one of these until the ignore feature is installed
  16. He also shows savvy base running speed, converting 80% of his steal opportunities lifetime, including 100% in 5 seasons.
  17. Too bad it canot be ignore by forum. There are some who I agree with in 3/4 forums
  18. On the bright side, it's is always nice when a student debates a Professor.
  19. I agree the Red Cross will not be a problem, any more than they, or any big organization, usually are. The detection is only 1/2 the issue. Getting warnings, in seconds, to remote areas, is still a challenge. Keeping any sort of sophisticated equipment running in the tropics is a chore, combined with a lack to expertise, will be daunting. Technology should be able to overcome all this soon. From the video I saw, the hotels may have actually saved lives. As a National Park, you would have had less people, but they would have had a harder time getting to high ground. From the videos I saw, most of the tourist hotels were undamaged above the ground floors. People who were on the second stories could casually point a video camera and shoot footage of the destruction.
  20. That is only a computer sciences degree, it goes back to the Pentium's oiginal math error, the others are quite a bit more
  21. Kap, you will still be setting all the post counts to zero right? just kidding everyone.
  22. It seems to me that the team has a much better focus this off season. It appears that KW and CO. have a clearer vision of what they want to do and are being more resolute in achieving that. AT this point I'm giving them a B so far with still some upsides.
  23. I have to applaud the Sox for attempting a total makeover in 5 months. I wouldn't have said this 2 months ago, or even one month ago, but I could see PK dealt for a chance to lock in another starting pitcher. I am also beginning to wonder if that isn't the best path to WS. Defense wins championships in every other sport. IN a 7-game series, trotting out 3 or 4 solid starters may be the best option around for a medium market/payroll team. Hitters get hot and cold, most MLB pitchers are more consistent in their performances. Bang 'em hard hasn't produced an October surprise.
