  1. That’s what I believe has changed in the past ten years. There isn’t as much victim shamming and blaming today.
  2. Ten years ago I would have agreed. Today I’m holding a sliver of hope he spends a year or two with only his chicken to choke.
  3. I lived my first thirty years surrounded by cornfields. I never really paid any attention. Now I really appreciate them when I’m back up north.
  4. I was just thinking by rotating teams I’m certain there will always be some fans really into it. I don’t think I would have been nearly as excited if it was two NL teams. Plus future technology will really make this special. In fifty years imagine the fun of having the holograms of the 2005 White Sox play the holograms of the 2016 Cubs.
  5. I'm guessing a swype error. It happens to me a lot with Sox

I fully support K-14 public education. We’re already partly there will dual credit in high school.
  7. Sadly, it will go down hill from here. Forget the quality of the game. The events surrounding the game will never be as good as the first one. Costner's entrance was dramatic but can't be recreated with the same affect. Seeing the stadium for the second, fifth, or tenth time won't be as emotional. Players in throwback uniforms. Quant after a while.
  8. Another five times since you posted this.
  9. Or to stay with the movie keep the Sox as the home team each year. Plus it’s an easy flight into Chicago for the rest of the homestand.

Sorry to hear that. No electric isn't fun.

    Did you get restored?
  12. Such is the luxury of a ten game lead in a week division.
  13. Best of luck in his recovery. Hopefully he didn't spread it to others.

Our governor is threatening any school district that requires masks with a loss of funding. Dallas ISD is fighting him on it, so we’ll see. My district has already stated we will follow state directions. I’m guessing I will have a good number of unvaccinated, un masked, 18 year olds in my classroom each day.
  15. Soccer parents are worse.
  16. It’s a happy day.
  17. I often find the misses to be more interesting and often better lessons.
  18. As I start reading a few articles I'm getting excited for the game. Which is odd because I didn't really like the movie and dislike one off gimmicky stuff during the season.
  19. I'll admit as a coach I sat in a training and listened to bullying characteristics of teasing, etc and thought damn, my family does that to each other all the time. Then I thought about my locker room and how one player was always being joked about and thought come on, that isn't bullying, they're like brothers. Eventually we understood the standard is the same regardless of location.
  20. We’ve come a long way in a short amount of time. Locker room conduct is finally being held to the same standard as other places of employment. Not that long ago fans defended Ozzie bringing in an inflatable woman for the players to stick their bats into as a slump buster. Initiations and other traditions are now classified as illegal bullying and hazing. And somehow players have managed to keep playing the game at a high level. I’m confident the generation of players coming up have been raised in a much different environment and this sort of thing wouldn’t be ignored or laughed at by coaches and players.
  21. Best closer in baseball can’t possible pitch effectively in any other inning. It’s too much to ask.
  22. While it’s fun to talk about the winners in the world, here is one I’m losing on. Drive Shack, a Top Golf type entertainment venue. I really thought with things opening up and some new markets they were moving into they would make a nice move. I expected to hold it three to six months tops. I’m down a couple grand so I’m now considering them a long time hold lol. Bonus mistake, OGI a Canadian marijuana grower and retailer. Just as they gained momentum, signing a nice cooperative agreement with a tobacco company, COVID wiped out half their workers, they missed earnings projections, reshuffled their executive team, and lost me a thousand. I’m hoping for a tough winter in Canada that keeps people indoors and looking for “recreation”. Thank you Thor Industries for covering all my losses plus a little to sleep on.
