  1. Of all the pro athletes I have met, the nicest have been hockey players, followed closely by football.
  2. QUOTE (shipps @ Dec 18, 2008 -> 09:08 AM) Its a light brown Chrysler with a turbo engine, believe it or not. Toss a babyseat in the back and go crusing for soccer moms.
  3. Many seriel rapists and murders are above average intelligence. They are meticulous planners and very personable. All those tools go into not getting caught. We know of his missing wives, I'd bet there are some bodies that are also his, but unknown.
  4. QUOTE (Rooftop Shots @ Dec 18, 2008 -> 08:36 AM) Man O Man! Not sure of the ages of both of you, but by the looks of our postings along with the dates that we all put on them, are all 3 of us somewhere in the top 5 of nursing home wheelchair posters on Soxtalk? I'm staring 50 in the crosshairs. Gotta add Yasny, FlaSoxxJim, and BigEdWalsh in the old people's club. IIRC BigEd is in his mid/late 50s. He may be the most mature of the Soxtalk regulars
  5. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Dec 18, 2008 -> 08:18 AM) A girl who gets sucked in by a guy like this is most likely crazy. Those are the kind of girls a sociopath like this prey on. Actually he is kind of the exception. Often times the victims have a deviant lifestyle that makes them vulnerable. (Prostitutes come to mind) Or they are just random strangers. Guys like Donalds Gaskins, who killed over 100 people in South Carolina was married 6 times, but never killed a wife. Nieces, friends, business partners, all were murdered, but never a wife. With this young woman, victimologists would probably point to her having some attachment disorders or perhaps a "Nightingale" complex. Either way her dad must be dying thinking about this marriage.
  6. QUOTE (shipps @ Dec 18, 2008 -> 08:11 AM) LOL...not in this economy. They know Iam stuck with them for now. Since in was a paper route, I assumed you had a really cool bike and wanted to use it
  7. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Dec 17, 2008 -> 09:23 PM) So how did this get from her dad to the web? *hoax* I am certain of it.
  8. QUOTE (shipps @ Dec 18, 2008 -> 08:08 AM) Paper Route....cant get a link because those sites are blocked here at work. They worried you are searching for a new job?
  9. QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Dec 18, 2008 -> 07:01 AM) Anyone who likes winter should die a slow, painful death. I love winter. The beaches are almost empty. A long sleeve shirt and pants feels good. Maybe even put some socks on and leave the flip flops at home. Turn off the air conditioner and leave the windows open. Yes sir, winter is the most wonderful time of the year. Too bad it only last a couple months then back to summer.

QUOTE (MHizzle85 @ Dec 18, 2008 -> 12:05 AM) True for the most part. The person below me is over the christmas season. False, just starting The person below me own two video consoles and over 20 games
  11. QUOTE (YASNY @ Dec 17, 2008 -> 11:19 PM) In 1972 Styx played at my high school's homecoming dance. After they became successful they claimed to only have played one or two High School dances, but I swear I know a lot more people who went to High School where they played.
  12. You must sing this (at least in your head) while reading to the tune of "God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen": Get packin', Rod Blagojevich The state's in disarray The Tribune wants you unemployed At least by Christmas Day The TV pundits want your head Could there be pay to play? O Tidings of Comfort and Joy, SAVE ILLINOIS! O Tidings of Comfort and Joy Good riddance, Rod Blagojevich Your Elvis look's inane The Senate's mad, so's Lisa's dad,, You drive us all insane Our transit's broke, the state's a joke, The Tollway's one big pain O Tidings of Comfort and Joy SAVE ILLINOIS! O Tidings of Comfort and Joy Good luck old Rod Blagojevich The feds have quite a place Fitzgerald's poked his nose around And if he has a case George Ryan's moving stuff around Creating extra space O Tidings of Comfort and Joy SAVE ILLINOIS! O Tidings of Comfort and Joy
  13. QUOTE (Kid Gleason @ Dec 17, 2008 -> 09:20 PM) Oh...then nevermind. I got nothing for ya. And I say that with all due respect
  14. QUOTE (Kid Gleason @ Dec 17, 2008 -> 08:13 PM) Crap man, I started my own magazine, website, and podcast dedicated to bands not in the mainstream...now I have to try and enlighten you folks here also!?! For you, how about is there anyone who sold more than a dozen copies (family and friends don't count) of their last release that you DO like?
  15. Pat Green hasn't broke the top 100 with any songs, so I assumed he was obscure outside Texas. Nice to hear some people around the country are hearing him. For a party/bar band Hair Banger's Ball is a good show. They have been playing all around CHicago and down to Bloomington and up north a little bit.
  16. QUOTE (CanOfCorn @ Dec 17, 2008 -> 02:13 PM) Seriously...how does he do it??? Up until a couple years ago, with no record deal, necessity. He likes to eat. Now a day with the record deal, I don't know. If you have ever seen his live show, it's all the fun and energy of a Springstein concert circa 1982. Guys that woudl never dream of going top a country show are having a good time next to some off the west Texas range cowboy. Damnest thing I've ever seen.

QUOTE (Jimbo's Drinker @ Dec 17, 2008 -> 01:40 PM) I am doing the thesis route, but I love researching and writing. What are you researching? I just noticed that Texas State has the official King of the Hill archives. How sweet would that Alamo Beer induced research be
  18. QUOTE (CanOfCorn @ Dec 17, 2008 -> 01:02 PM) That man is a Texas whore. You go anywhere and the name Pat Green comes up. Usually playing that night. I don't know how he does it...playing simultaneously in Corpus, South Padre, Austin, San Antonio, Houston, Victoria and Dallas. LOL and selling out every show.

QUOTE (FlaSoxxJim @ Dec 17, 2008 -> 01:09 PM) False. I refuse to text on phone when I can actually just friggin' call the person on the phone! The person below me misses the Dolly Madison ads and the spinning Dum-da--dum-dum-dum! "Special" logo when watching Charlie Brown Christmas of any of the Rankin-Bass classics on commercial teevee nowadays. True Added bonus the person above me is a luddite and can't figure out text messaging and wants to spend ten minutes communicating something that could take 15 seconds. The person below me uses an electric razor

QUOTE (lostfan @ Dec 17, 2008 -> 12:48 PM) Heh, if it is a woman, I will still kick them in the same general area. But she generally keeps her balls (you know the ones she removed from her man) elsewhere.
  22. Texsox replied to lostfan's topic in SLaM
QUOTE (lostfan @ Dec 17, 2008 -> 12:26 PM) So I just took out the trash, and it was leaking because some asshole put a non-empty cup of coffee in the trash can. If I catch someone doing that, it's an automatic kick in the balls. Hmm, you do know that the possible culprit might not have balls? Who wants to have "the talk" with lost?
  23. QUOTE (mreye @ Dec 17, 2008 -> 09:15 AM) I guess that's out now. Maybe not. I'm guessing there are many on that side of the aisle that agree with him. The tag line solution party is brilliant. In a sound byte world, that will play well. I can hear Rush already. If we ever could get both parties to play well together, and not just when they are spending our money, we'd be a happier nation. not.holding.my.breath

QUOTE (Brian @ Dec 17, 2008 -> 09:26 AM) I was thinking of this a few weeks ago. Loved their burgers. The one in Waukegan is now a Rally's. The ones down here became Rally's then vacant buildings.
