  1. If he can play right field, he should be able to manage left, yeah?
  2. QUOTE(chisoxfan79 @ May 21, 2007 -> 08:59 PM) Hell has frozen over BIPS Law of averages is bringing the temperature of hell back to normal for this time of year. Was reading today how absurdly low the Sox BABIP (BA on balls in play) is, like 30 points lower than any other team. Bad luck. A historically low number that can't and won't stay. The worst BABIP since 2001 was .273 and the Sox were at .239. The ball is going to land where a fielder isn't a lot more often than it has been for us this year. Like it has tonight.
  3. QUOTE(ChWRoCk2 @ May 20, 2007 -> 03:57 PM) Lets not jump to conclusions. Ha!
  4. QUOTE(whitesoxfan101 @ May 20, 2007 -> 03:28 PM) Cotts is so bad. But again, why do people put pitchers in against their ex team ever? It's a freaking hex, and the managers around baseball aren't learning either. To pitch against the guy who caught almost every game he pitched for the past 2 years, nonetheless.
  5. QUOTE(beautox @ May 20, 2007 -> 03:25 PM) still the wrong f***ing call to let him hit. pretty weak, Beautox.
  6. Grindin'! One right fielder?.....two right fielders? but he can't.......but......ohhh my medication
  7. QUOTE(Capn12 @ May 9, 2007 -> 11:55 AM) Fact is, the team ERA won't stay under 4.00. At that point, what if the offense is just as attrocious? but what if the defense is so unbelievable that they don't allow a single player to reach base. Certain home runs given up by Sox pitching are caught 3 over the fence by leaping outfielders. and what if Sizemore, Hafner, and Sabathia get in a huge fight and break each other's legs. And yes, what if the team hits .220 for the entire season. but what if the players go on strike because of Bonds' shabby treatment by the media after breaking Aaron's record. and what if.................
  8. QUOTE(fathom @ May 8, 2007 -> 10:36 PM) He missed one start! Flat out, KW lied when he said he wouldn't trade Garcia unless it improved this team for 2007. He failed! While very clearly up to this point you are dead wrong as Garcia has worse numbers in the NATIONAL F'N LEAGUE than our worst starter, you still have the rest of the season to continue to be wrong. And the Sox have $10 million. And a good prospect. And, at worst, another warm body who can pitch some innings.
  9. QUOTE(caulfield12 @ May 7, 2007 -> 10:37 PM) The Tigers have won something like 14 of their last 15 against the Royals. Thanks KC! KC has gone 5-7 in their last 12 against Detroit. QUOTE(joeynach @ May 7, 2007 -> 10:37 PM) And we also have the 3rd or 4th highest payroll in the league which puts us in a different class of team. We can afford to be one of those 13 qualified teams and we should. We need to have one of those 13 shortstops, AND we need to have a $50 million starting rotation, AND we need to have the best 3,4,5 hitters (combined) in all of baseball, AND we need to get and can afford Carl Crawford AND Ichiro AND................................................................................................. .....................
  10. They're clearly a well above-average team. If the whole team can be in a slump, be the worst hitting team in baseball, and still be at .500, that's a good team.
  11. QUOTE(elrockinMT @ Apr 28, 2007 -> 09:51 PM) Why make all these moves? So that people have something to complain about and type into their computer. QUOTE(elrockinMT @ Apr 28, 2007 -> 09:51 PM) Settle down folks! Not likely.
  12. QUOTE(WHarris1 @ Apr 29, 2007 -> 03:58 PM) Eduardo Perez? yes, this would be a swell idea.
  13. QUOTE(Kalapse @ Apr 27, 2007 -> 01:10 PM) If Thome is out for any extended period of time this team is pretty f***ed. just like in 2005
  14. How fast can fans overreact to every..........
  15. QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ Apr 25, 2007 -> 12:15 AM) This is why you beat the royals. This is why the Tigers beat the royals all the time. Except for 2 out of 3 last week.
  16. QUOTE(ZoomSlowik @ Apr 25, 2007 -> 12:05 AM) Please, they've been out-scored by 27 runs so far this year... Their pitching is brutal. Their offense is good at doing just what they did off us in the 7th. Getting hits. Getting doubles. #7 in MLB in BA the second half last year. #7 in doubles. #5 in hits.
  17. QUOTE(StrangeSox @ Apr 24, 2007 -> 11:33 PM) Oh STFU, DJ and Hawk. This Royals team is just not good, stop making excuses. They've got a lineup full of guys who s*** line drives all over the field, and then we gave them Gload. Their offense was better than a lot of teams in the 2nd half last year.
  18. QUOTE(fathom @ Apr 24, 2007 -> 11:03 PM) Good job Javy! Aardsma start the 7th? He should have
  19. QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Apr 24, 2007 -> 10:57 PM) And this is why I still love the man. He's also hitting triples off our ass.
  20. QUOTE(southsideirish @ Apr 24, 2007 -> 12:19 AM) Anderson has turned into the White Sox's version of the Bears backup QB. I can understand the argument for not batting Erstad leadoff. I can understand the argument that you want to keep the guy healthy and give him some days off. However, I still can't see the argument for replacing Erstad with Anderson. No one has ever made a good argument for that on this board, but yet people still want to see Anderson replace Erstad. Anderson is better defensively, and given a full season, would put up better offensive numbers this year than Erstad will this year. Erstad will not put up a .700 OPS. Anderson might. He'd certainly do better than Erstad. QUOTE(caulfield12 @ Apr 24, 2007 -> 09:39 AM) Yes, which is a lot better than guaranteeing $18 million to an older player IMO. And he has to earn his 600 at-bats, and to do so, he would have to be healthy nearly the entire season. If he's healthy, he's proven that he can be a significant contributor to a playoff-caliber baseball team. ...or Ozzie has proven that he's an asshat.
  21. channel 14 in Chicago north side.....is showing the Bulls game.......because there is a rain delay in the Sox game
  22. I like Crede up there. I like when he takes those wuss swings with runners on, just trying to get a hit like he did on his RBI earlier.
