Pay me enough and I'll take the fall.
  2. Can we move on from this debate back to head coach candidates. Hell I'd rather hear "Illinois fans always complaign bout dem refs!"
  3. QUOTE (HickoryHuskers @ Mar 21, 2012 -> 12:46 PM) As an ND alum, I wholly recommend Illinois hire Mike Brey. That would definitely be intriguing, he's a got a pretty good track record at ND.
  4. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Mar 21, 2012 -> 12:45 PM) I saw one mention of Martin from K-State. Any chance that is true? I saw that too, I'd be intrigued he can definitely take a mediocre program and put it in the top 25, but his intensity kind of scares me. It's worked thus far there, but is he so over the top that he loses his players would be my concern.
  5. QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Mar 21, 2012 -> 12:27 PM) He's never leaving Butler. It's who I rate higher, but yea he probably won't leave.
  6. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Mar 21, 2012 -> 12:43 PM) So who's next? 1. Buzz Williams 2. Gregg Marshall 3. Reggie Theus Anyone else?
  7. Crap. He wasnt a perfect choice, but the best available.
  8. QUOTE (Soxfest @ Mar 21, 2012 -> 12:17 PM) Wrong.............. Sox had to pay the $25,000 to get him back. But they got paid 50k initially.
  9. I'd prefer Stevens over Smart.
  10. QUOTE (kjshoe04 @ Mar 21, 2012 -> 12:06 AM) Well it seems he will be the frontrunner everywhere for the next 2-3 years. Maybe he wants to go somewhere that he wouldn't have to establish a recruiting base? Illinois has had a real hard time recruiting lately. Meh, they've recruited highly rated players the past few years, they just haven't worked out/improved/fit the system.
  11. QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Mar 20, 2012 -> 05:22 PM) Yeah all the rumors seem to indicate that Shaka is hesitant because of the "murkiness" of Chicago recruiting. If that's the case, I dunno that he's ready for a D1 job. There's murkiness for just about every high level recruit, especially recruits coming out of big cities. And I said last week in a dream world you'd have Smith and Howard as your lead recruiters. That would be amazing. Yea if he's reserved about recruiting at this level then he wont ever really leave VCU.
  12. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Mar 20, 2012 -> 11:19 PM) LOL Love that clip The Turkey Burger vs. Hamburger episode is great as well.
  13. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Mar 20, 2012 -> 03:17 PM) go out and have some steak. i mean carrots Happy birthday!!

QUOTE (Felix @ Mar 20, 2012 -> 05:55 PM) That's all I've read so far. Waiting on the second one to come out, but I might torrent the rest for s***s and giggles now. I wish the other books weren't so much more than the compendium price, because otherwise I would just buy the few separate collections than wait for the next compendium.
  15. QUOTE (Marty34 @ Mar 20, 2012 -> 05:53 PM) In my view, Kenny Williams job rests in the performances of Beckham, Danks, Viciedo, Sale, and Reed. If they play the way they have been touted to play by Kenny Williams and others in the organization, I think the Sox will contend. If they don't the Sox have a huge problem because there isn't anyone else to build around and we're looking at a 3-5 year process. Kenny should not be the guy to rebuild this team if that young core doesn't produce this year. I agree, but our opinion doesn't really matter, it's all up to JR.
  16. QUOTE (Marty34 @ Mar 20, 2012 -> 05:33 PM) There's no denying this. Jerry Krause was let go so there is a limit to Chairman Reinsdorf's loyalty I don't get where the idea that Kenny has two or three more years to rebuild this team came from. I don't believe he has if this season is as bad or worse than last year's. Why would JR give KW this season only when KW told him they would have to rebuild? JR has to know that this is a multi year rebuild with the state that the team is in, and unless this is just a training year for Rick Hahn behind the scenes then KW will be here for at least 2 seasons imo.

QUOTE (iamshack @ Mar 20, 2012 -> 05:21 PM) My boss is the Manager of Short Term Optimization in the Resource Optimization group. Resource Optimization basically dispatches all generation, covers all natural gas transactions, covers all day-ahead electricity transactions, all day-of electricity transactions, and all monthly electricity transactions. As I said, he manages $3 billion in transactions, basically. I am considering asking for manager-level compensation, but not sure...certainly not the level he is at, but the introductory manager level. I think that's a fair request, even if you don't have direct reports you still have the responsibility of a manager.

QUOTE (SnB @ Mar 20, 2012 -> 11:15 AM) http://www.amazon.com/Walking-Dead-Compend...e/dp/1607060760 Here's 1-48 Totally worth the $35, and you can sell it back for a total price of like $20.
  19. QUOTE (Marty34 @ Mar 20, 2012 -> 04:52 PM) If the Sox are bad again this year it's because of Kenny Williams. He won't deserve more time. Marty, that doesn't matter, he probably didn't deserve to come back this year. But that doesn't matter because JR wanted him back, and as long as JR wants him in that role than KW will be here.

What level is your boss? Because I would ask for one level lower than he is (if that's a promotion for you). You'll be looked upon a lot as a resource within the company and will have a ton of responsibility, and your position needs to reflect that not only for compensation, but also for power to implement change.

QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Mar 19, 2012 -> 07:50 PM) I am currently in the process of downloading comics 1-88. I'm too hooked on you folks knowing everything and I can never avoid stuff in spoiler tags, so I might as well enjoy them! Definitely worth the read, really doesnt take long and it's highly entertaining.

QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Mar 19, 2012 -> 05:10 PM) I was guessing her or Carl. Neither of them are really shown in that preview, and Carl has been somewhat of a big sidebar this season. I dont totally blame Fiona for the squirrel fund fiasco. In fact, I always thought it should have happened sooner with Frank at some point. It wasnt as if they actually hid the money, it was just in a high place. They should have kept it hidden at Veronicas/Kev's at the least, if it's in the house it was going to get found.

QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Mar 19, 2012 -> 03:59 PM) This goes way beyond the show, so it's not even a legit gripe of mine, but I always wondered how the zombies end up eating humans. I mean, zombies at some point were humans that got turned by other zombies right? So, how are any of them walking around if they're eaten to bits (ala the dude in the RV or the Otis' wife)? Or, if you say that they just eat them for a while (hence all the gaping holes and whatnot), why would a blood thirsty zombie stop if it (1) wants brains and (2) never gets full. But yes, the running/walking zombie thing is another "rule" this show has set up and broken many times in the series, depending on the writers' need at the moment. In the graphic novel zombies do get full, so I guess that's one option. It's apparent that zombies don't like flesh that's been dead for too long (why I don't know, but I guess zombies would just each other otherwise), and they have shown a few instances of horribly eaten people (especially the first episode). I think you'd see more of those in the city, and less in the rural areas since they can't move well.

QUOTE (danman31 @ Mar 19, 2012 -> 03:26 PM) I understand the concept of fiction, but this show stretches it pretty far and typically zombie movies go over the top or are intentionally campy. This show takes itself so seriously that it needs to be held to those standards. Obviously, you have to allow the premise of zombies. I'm just saying I don't really think this show does it best. Throw in bad character writing and the show isn't as good as has the potential to be. I really hope AMC gets new writers for the show, and not cheap out as it seemed like they did. This show is already big, but it could be huge with actually good writing and a decent budget. The funny thing is they have a whole script in front of them that they just need to tweak a bit. Hell one of the best scenes by a character in the past episode was Rick yelling at the group, and that was all based on scenes from the graphic novel.
