QUOTE (danman31 @ Mar 19, 2012 -> 03:16 PM) Lori's reaction was fine, but Carl's made no sense. I still think he cocked the gun too early to recognize Shane was a walker in the field. The timing of that had me all confused. The head shots were classic comedy. Rick's kills in front of the RV were fine because they were close range, but the line from Glen 'keep it steady' was hilarious. You're in a moving vehicle and carrying a shotgun! You're not going to hit anything other than dumb luck. Might as well not even aim. Carl is a little attention whore, why do you think he does what he does? Always running off getting in trouble, playing baby when he needs to. Agreed on the shooting, they could barely hit their targets on the shooting range while not moving, but now they can all be in a moving car and get head shots of moving zombies? At least throw in a few body shots here and there after the quick cuts of the non-experienced shooters.

2012 TV Thread
Lori never was nor ever will be a likeable character, unlike Andrea who went from being the biggest b**** on television to what should be a badass zombie killer. There are some inconsistencies, but I thought last night wasn't too bad. I thought the characters were pretty stupid, as in Jimmy in the RV, what the f*** was he thinking. But realllllly glad to have Michonne join the show (the katana wielding woman with the zombies chained to her). She's pretty f***ing badass in the graphic novel. Just hope Tyrese joins, and they don't just make T-Dawg his replacement because thus far he has nothing on what Tyrese is in the graphic novel (ex football player who kicks zombie ass).

QUOTE (Brian @ Mar 19, 2012 -> 03:56 AM) Was it ever really on track? With the graphic novel, not really. But Season 1 was pretty damn entertaining, and if the writers are smart and AMC devotes the money then season 3 could be highly entertaining too.

Sun-Times: Trades Will Happen Soon if Sox Fail
QUOTE (Marty34 @ Mar 18, 2012 -> 07:14 PM) I take it you think Williams will have gotten an unfair shake if he is let go after this season? If KW was going to be let go it would've happened this past offseason. He offered to take another position and let Hahn or someone else take over, but JR refused. This situation is all on JR now.

Worse nickname
QUOTE (CaliSoxFanViaSWside @ Mar 18, 2012 -> 02:13 PM) I'm not voting cuz it takes some chutspah (sp?) to give someone a nickname and keep pushing it and take the abuse (such as this thread). I liked my own version for Viciedo. Hollywood Viciedo You can't force a nickname.

I actually like that they are f***ing around with the Marlins, just means more chaos/distractions for them.

Honestly thought Hot Fire was on it's own level, but DA MANager proved me wrong.

QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Mar 16, 2012 -> 04:50 PM) Then slap yourselves in the face because you're a bunch of dudes playing Wii together. Meh, we play two games on it and theyre both for drinking: Super Smash and Mario Kart.

Get drunk in 2K12
Rum Night Rules: Have 4-5 guys over, 1 handle of Bacardi Rum, and Super Smash Brothers (version doesn't matter). After each game everyone takes a shot. Loser takes an extra half shot. If a player didn't get any kills then they an extra shot. Play until the rum is gone (usually about an hour). Doing that as a pregame for a pregame.

Sun-Times: Trades Will Happen Soon if Sox Fail
QUOTE (LVSoxFan @ Mar 15, 2012 -> 04:35 PM) No problem with that but it all seems sort of inevitable, right? I mean, we're sort of sitting on the fence between "rebuild" and still holding on to veterans with value and then of course the Dunn/Rios/Peavy trio. Maybe that's why KW blurted out "rebuilding" a few months ago only to walk it back some. Well yea, just try and find a team willing to take on those contracts. The Sox are stuck with them until they play to a decent enough level where you could possibly trade them with cash to a team. And there's no way they would cut the players. KW did what he could, and yes he dug himself this hole, but this is a rebuilding phase for the Sox. They just so happen to have guys they cant get rid of.

2012-2013 NFL Thread
QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Mar 15, 2012 -> 03:21 PM) I knew you'd make that response regarding rich. But seriously, say you have equal money, is he who you'd want as your neighbor? I guy who constantly has been in trouble and has a history of violence? Would you want your kids looking up to him on the football field. I love the Bears and I'm very passionate about sports and I hope like hell Marshall is a changed man. But I also don't live under a rock, the reality is this guy has had a ton of chances and thus far has proven he is what he is (an abuser of women) and that is a major problem. I agree that it's despicable that he has abused women, and there is no excuse for that. That said, he doesn't have to be a role model, there are other players on the team that can be that role model that you as a parent can point your kids too. The fact of the matter is, the NFL shouldn't be viewed as a pool of role models, teams pay and fans adore these guys to make ridiculously hard contact with other humans. They are basically trained to hit people as hard as they can, to use rage and adrenaline to their advantage. And I'm not trying to defend these guys like Marshall that hit women, he should be punished accordingly to the law, I just think people who label these guys as role models are ridiculous. Yea you'll find a few good ones here and there, but most of them are in the NFL and not doing something else with their life because they are good at one thing: violently hitting other humans.

Sox spring training Catch All thread
QUOTE (Cali @ Mar 13, 2012 -> 07:56 PM) Hey, someone with a worse outlook than my 95 loss prediction! Completely theoretical: If the Sox lost 100 games this season (which would be the first time since 1970 and only the 4th time ever) would they consider firing Robin? Or does that loyalty stand strong? Unless it was really his fault, aka he fought with media, players, management etc numerous times and embarrassed the franchise, I don't see Ventura going anywhere regardless of record.

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Mar 13, 2012 -> 03:11 PM) One of the thirds is apparently a 2013 3rd rounder, so the Bears still have 1 of their 2 third rounders this year as well. Still can't believe it's that cheap, just a fantastic move.

Holy s***, Emery off to a great start there. Fantastic move, can't believe it was only 2 third rounders.

QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Mar 13, 2012 -> 01:20 PM) Apparently Howard has said he'd stay on as an assistant, so that's good. Smartest choice for him at this point in his career. He's most likely not ready for a HC position and being an assistant at Illinois gives him great options going forward. Hopefully the new coach can develop a good relationship with him.- Sox spring training Catch All thread
QUOTE (Harry Chappas @ Mar 13, 2012 -> 01:17 PM) Once they get the Greg Walker theory of hitting down, watch out. Try really hard but fail is not a theory of hitting, it's called the minors.- What are your feelings on new tagline "Appreciate the Game"?
QUOTE (SoxFan1 @ Mar 13, 2012 -> 12:44 AM) I hate the comparisons to the Cubs all the damn time. They weren't always popular and selling out Wrigley Field. There is nothing lovable about losing. They will not forever be the #1 team in Chicago. Well the #2 team needs to start winning consistently, because the Sox will never win the battle of the losers.- Reports: Illini hire John Groce
QUOTE (GoodAsGould @ Mar 12, 2012 -> 11:31 PM) Where did anyone say Illinois was top5. I think most fans would say 10-15 range and given the talent available in state I agree with that. The program should be making the dance on a yearly basis and really should be winning 2 plus games once making it most years. Pretty much the same was Wiscy/OSU/MSU, which I think is fair.- Reports: Illini hire John Groce
Agreed, of course we're not a UNC or Duke, but this program is right up there in the top 10-15 in the nation.- 2012 TV Thread
QUOTE (DrunkBomber @ Mar 12, 2012 -> 11:38 AM) Anybody ever watch the show Jericho that was on a few years ago? I saw both seasons on Netflix and gave it a shot and was pleasantly surprised, I really enjoyed it. I guess it got cancelled before the story finished so the writers made season 3 with comic books. Its about a small fictional town in Kansas that survives after the US is under attack and 23 cities get nuked, for anyone interested. I actually just watched it on Netflix, very solid show, very Lost-esque in some ways it was written. Overall it was an interesting story line, and it never really got boring which was nice considering it was 45 min long episodes. - Reports: Illini hire John Groce
