  1. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Nov 11, 2010 -> 03:01 PM) Beckham overall put up an .808 OPS on the season in his first year at 2b and as a 23 year old. From the end of June on, once he snapped out of that early funk, he hit .310 with an .885 OPS. I'm pretty sure 95% of Sox fans want no part of dealing Beckham right now either. For the right player with the right contractual status, I would.
  2. QUOTE (Tex @ Nov 11, 2010 -> 01:31 PM) And based on my work experiences, White Sox management was typical in not wanting to understand how business was being conducted in that area, and probably believing the worst about the people there. In other words, if Wilder told them it was necessary to pay these extras for almost any reason, they probably would have agreed with it. Again, this is based on my previous work history of setting up procurement offices for companies outside the US. Business owners were very trusting (gullible) and willing to believe any story. Wow, great morals by the Sox organization. As much as I want a bigger presence in Latin America, it has to be done the right way. EDIT: Great morals by baseball in general too. Geesh.
  3. QUOTE (elrockinMT @ Nov 11, 2010 -> 01:17 PM) We have a RF'er Having a RF and having a good RF is completely different.

QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Nov 10, 2010 -> 05:51 PM) Congrats, you found the two pictures of Kotsay getting a hit all year.

QUOTE (kjshoe04 @ Nov 10, 2010 -> 05:42 PM) He seems like a nice guy. Hope this works out. I'm sure Ozzie won't use him all that often. Ozzie won't use his advice or the Kotsay excuse all that often? You do realize that Kotsay was not resigned.
  6. QUOTE (chw42 @ Nov 10, 2010 -> 04:47 PM) The guns you start off with in MP are horrible. I went around 20 kills below break even on K:D before I got my Enfield. I've been 40:25 in K:D since in 2 games. The M16 isnt bad, Ive done fairly well with it. Hell, in my first game I went 18-6. The hardest part for me is the maps, some are easy to figure out like Nuketown (one of my faves), but the forest one pisses me off.
  7. Sure, might as well see how it goes.
  8. QUOTE (maggsmaggs @ Nov 10, 2010 -> 04:55 PM) It's a free Baseball America post. Sure wish we signed him. From everything I heard the Sox sure tried to. But Goodwin knew his stock would be higher and was a heavy commit.

QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ Nov 10, 2010 -> 12:59 PM) Scott Podsednik? Juan Pierre? Erstad FTW
  10. QUOTE (elrockinMT @ Nov 8, 2010 -> 05:44 PM) Lee is done and if you think Konerko is one of the worse defenders apparently you don't watch the same games I do Lee's bat speed got slower last year, but he could definitely come back and produce. His defense is top 2-3 at 1b, and Konerko has great hands but his range is non-existant, so yes it is a huge upgrade.
  11. QUOTE (fathom @ Nov 8, 2010 -> 05:19 PM) If Konerko leaves, there's a great chance Lee signs with the Sox. He wants to stay in Chicago, and Ozzie loves him from his days in Florida. I like Lee, but he showed some signs of significant decline last season. I would offer something like 2 yr/13 million, with $7 million upfront, $6 million next year.
  12. Does anyone know if you can actually fly/drive cars and helicopters finally? Also, if that commercial is any indication, Napalm will be a killstreak reward, awesome.
  13. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Nov 8, 2010 -> 02:03 PM) Absolutely epic. And yes, that's Kobe. LOVE that commercial, immediately had to share that last night with friends.

QUOTE (juddling @ Nov 8, 2010 -> 03:27 PM) well...didn't the black guy in the first episode tell the sherriff that it was only a bite that could transfer the virus????? though one would think rolling in the innerds would do the same thing. Fwiw, he said scratches to.
  16. QUOTE (flippedoutpunk @ Nov 8, 2010 -> 02:09 PM) i love it, ive burned 300 calories today in that workout game and man im beat, i cant even walk up the stairs.. couple more months and ill be able to take my shirt off when i walk around your house. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Nov 8, 2010 -> 12:45 PM) Although I enjoyed the second episode of "The Walking Dead" there were quite a few mistakes made. The most obvious was "don't get any on your skin" and that followed by bare hands touching zombie guts a few times. It was a good episodes. I was sad to see this is only a 6 episode season. Yea that stood out to me as well, pretty bad writing in that one scene imo, but overall still very good.

The Walking Dead is fantastic. The first episode is on Hulu, fyi.
  19. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Nov 7, 2010 -> 06:17 PM) I'm not sure I'd give up Viciedo for him. He's just so inconsistent so far in his career. Big power potential, but the difference between an above average bat and a below average bat is basically whether he gets a handful of hits. With 210+ K's almost guaranteed, so much depends on BABIP... And he isn't worth the risk right now with that contract he has, imo.
  20. QUOTE (JoeCoolMan24 @ Nov 7, 2010 -> 05:07 PM) Mark Reynolds is apparently on the trading block. I wonder if KW would like to trade for Reynold's big bat. Wonder who would be traded back? Package around Viciedo? Ugh, please no.
  21. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Nov 7, 2010 -> 04:34 PM) Four 4 or 5 years the Sox had Johnson in CF and Raines in LF. They were perhaps the 2 worst OF arms in baseball, yet they won most of the time. They also had a one of the best hitters of the decade in the lineup...You cannot compare the two situations at all right now.
  22. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Nov 7, 2010 -> 03:33 PM) You must be too young to remember Lance Johnson. Probably, I definitely watched him as a kid but by that time he was on other teams, no idea that Lance went by that.
  23. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Nov 7, 2010 -> 03:58 PM) One Dog played CF a long time for the White Sox. His arm was equally as bad. Wait, what?
  24. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Nov 7, 2010 -> 02:32 PM) I suppose its impossible to trade for a CF or a LF and move Pierre back to CF. Thanks for the info. I must be real stupid, but I'm glad you're around to help me out. I'm glad you called me out for complaining about the farm system. I suppose I'm unique. Pierre would be terrible in CF, he would give up a huge amount of runs with that arm of his.

QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Nov 5, 2010 -> 12:29 AM) f*** that, make him walk the plank Turned out better than expected actually, took him back, got him to bed, he passed out, girl called me to walk her home, good times pursued.
