QUOTE (Heads22 @ Dec 2, 2010 -> 02:52 PM) I got really drunk last night and did some things. We now have a new vacuum cleaner from somewhere. I apparently thought it was a good idea to whip my dong out in the bar last night. And other things I don't feel comfortable mentioning. Man, if that's what you consider comfortable talking about from last night...

Snowblowers
Dont know what type, but it's a pretty decent Toro brand I think. I do miss the ol' days when I only had to shovel the sidewalks in front of my house, the family then moved into a house that had a driveway up a 25 ft hill, plus it was a huge driveway, that took about 3 hrs to snowblow/shovel with everyone helping. Now we live in a house with a round-about driveway that takes about 2 hrs to snowblow/shovel.

Konerko and Putz both decline Arb
It wasn't just the record that failed, it's the organization as a whole finding itself in a very bad position this offseason without anything to show the past 2 years. We aren't a very young team, we have young pieces though. But, we have major holes that cant be filled in by our farm system because it's bare and we have so much money tied up in a few deals that it'll be hard to fill all these holes through FA. The Sox are starting to fall into that 2nd tier team that will fall into the cycle of being just good enough to keep some fans at the ballpark, but not enough to sustain a high enough payroll. Put on top of that they won't have fantastic draft slots and won't go overslot than the farm system will continue to struggle to provide everyday players of high caliber, or even trade bait. It's the mediocrity that scares me, and this offseason will tell alot about the future of the Sox.

2010 Fall TV Thread
QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ Dec 1, 2010 -> 12:51 AM) Anyone notice in the last scene how all of the members were on one side of the ATF van while Jax was alone on the other? They were playing some song about a king. The other guys all had their heads down like they were bowing and Jax was sitting there with his head above the rest. Well he just orchestrated the s*** out of that plan, and Clay basically said he was looking to retire soon, so yea I imagine that was all on purpose and a glimpse at what may be next season.

Dear drunken student, It's only 6pm and you're drunk out of your mind at a restaurant, you look like your 16, and you just threw up for 10 minutes in front of me at the restaurant. You also were in the bathroom for the next 2 hours. Please learn some respect and not go to a public place of eating just to throw up, and maybe learn not to get blacked out drunk before 6pm on a Tuesday. Sincerely, Hungry turned sickened student

Juan Uribe Is About To Get Paid...
QUOTE (LVSoxFan @ Nov 29, 2010 -> 06:18 PM) Wow with a .248 batting average, to boot. Well, good for him. I always loved him as a fielder but his batting drove me crazy. He's having a hell of a post-Sox career though. He had one above average season and one average season, I guess comparatively he has had a good post-Sox career but it's not like he turned into an MVP or even an all-star caliber player.

Catch All Anything Thread
QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Nov 27, 2010 -> 02:03 PM) As soon as I have a more permanent position, I'm switching everything to either a community/local bank or to a local credit union. BofA has a nice online banking system, but that's about the only positive thing I can say for them. Their customer service has been a mess every time I've needed to deal with it. Those ATM's love eating my checks/cash without counting them. Their interest rates are through the floor, and they'll tack on a fee/fine for everything they can. I love how banks will advertise a "competitive" interest rate only to see it's absolutely dismal compared to other banks. My brother now goes to a local credit union, he gets a much better interest rate, great customer service, and reimbursed for ATM fees everywhere. I just opened a Schwab checking account because when I'm abroad it covers all ATM fees, which is huge for me.

Yankees to offer 3 years $45 million to Jeter
QUOTE (iamshack @ Nov 26, 2010 -> 01:50 PM) Are you serious? Don't you think that is a bit laughable considering the amount of money most of the Yankees' star players make? I can understand if you're talking about a six-figure job, or even a low-seven figure job...but once you get into the eight-figures, the difference in living expenses is probably not making a huge dent in your overall compensation package. If I were Cashman, I'd offer the 3/$45 and say take it or leave it. That's a fair amount of money, and any team that pays him above that amount would be overpaying themselves. What a joke. Agreed wholeheartedly here. I really want the Yankees to stay at that offer and see Jeter beg for more money from other teams only to have to come back to the Yankees with tail between his legs accepting that offer. 6 yrs/$150 million my ass.

Rockies Interested in Floyd?
QUOTE (bucket-of-suck @ Nov 25, 2010 -> 10:48 PM) No. I'd trade Floyd for Dexter Fowler who would lead off and be my CF & Stewart who I'd platoon as a 3rd baseman, but would play every day he's not at the hot corner at either 1B or DH He of the .220 .308 .334 .642 line away from Coors, mmmkayyyyy. You're trading for players who are mediocre players while having half their games at Coors, and are really pretty terrible away from that ballpark.

The Finer Things In Life
QUOTE (knightni @ Nov 25, 2010 -> 06:05 PM) My sister informs me that the pecan pie has a little Captain in it. Not too bad. I can op that, we have an alcohol infused whip cream, 15%and vanilla flavored. Yummmmm!

Rockies Interested in Floyd?
No thanks to Fowler or Stewart unless they're thrwins. I'll take them on if it's only Teahen and Linebrink plus another small piece but they are both terrible to mediocre players outside of Coors.

Tigers sign Victor Martinez 4yr/$50m
QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Nov 25, 2010 -> 12:04 PM) The bullpen is going to be very different next year. I'd bet on no Jenks and no Linebrink to start with. And both of those gone would make me happy. But who is taking on Liney's contract?

Tigers sign Victor Martinez 4yr/$50m
QUOTE (RockRaines @ Nov 25, 2010 -> 01:15 AM) What if they did Konerko, Jenks and AJ, for Dunn and DLEE? Throw in Putz and Ill be happy, not estatic but that's a solid offseason.

Black Friday
QUOTE (WhiteSoxfan1986 @ Nov 24, 2010 -> 11:21 PM) So, is anyone crazy enough to get up super early on Friday? Anybody know of any great deals? Just shop online, there are very similar deals online in terms of actually getting them (as in, there won't be a $200 laptop online, but you'll find comparable to better deals for $500 laptops and usually with better specs). Amazon is having a Black Friday sale all week, lots of goodies on there. I just refuse to go to large brick and mortars know a days, chances of you actually getting those "steals" are slim, and even then they are older models that wouldnt really interest me, online is easy and the way to go. Just do your research on what you want.

Fowler away from Coors: .211 .297 .298 .595 Stewart away from Coors: .239 .317 .454 .770 No thanks on either.

QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Nov 18, 2010 -> 11:08 PM) a LOT of crazy luck shots from Texas, but Illinois' D so far has been terrible, especially in transition. Horrible first 5 minutes of the 2nd half. Hopefully they can turn it around. They need to turn it around now, before Texas runs away with it.
