November 11, 201015 yr QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Nov 10, 2010 -> 05:55 PM) http://www.rotoworld.com/content/HeadLines...B&hl=308492 nice pickup DeJesus would have been a nice piece in RF, but we wouldn't have gotten him.
November 11, 201015 yr Excellent move for the A's. An already stellar defense gets better. Just don't be like the Mariners and forget scoring runs is a part of winning baseball games.
November 11, 201015 yr QUOTE (Whitewashed in '05 @ Nov 10, 2010 -> 06:23 PM) Hmm... didn't Mazzaro shut us down? He's only had two starts against the Sox, but he's done quite well.
November 11, 201015 yr The A's just sent Vin Mazzaro and Justin Marks over to the Royals for David Dejesus. As a Sox fan, you've got to love getting his bat out of the division. We always get spanked by Oakland anyway.
November 11, 201015 yr Billy Beane must be going out of his way to avoid traditional power bats at this point. Dejesus is good, but the A's have a dozen semi-comparable players.
November 11, 201015 yr QUOTE (JPN366 @ Nov 11, 2010 -> 05:24 AM) So, when will Oakland trade him? He's one Royal I wouldn't hate acquiring, but he's still nothing to write home 'bout.
November 11, 201015 yr QUOTE (JPN366 @ Nov 10, 2010 -> 10:24 PM) So, when will Oakland trade him? Probably gonna hold onto him hoping he has a good enough season to be a type A, or at least type B free agent next year.
November 11, 201015 yr QUOTE (GreatScott82 @ Nov 11, 2010 -> 08:42 AM) Let the offseason being This post ended up being a lot deeper then you expected it to be.
November 11, 201015 yr QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Nov 10, 2010 -> 06:04 PM) Excellent move for the A's. An already stellar defense gets better. Just don't be like the Mariners and forget scoring runs is a part of winning baseball games. How good is DeJesus in the field? Last year I thought I read somewhere that he wasn't that good defensively.
November 11, 201015 yr QUOTE (Chet Kincaid @ Nov 11, 2010 -> 11:10 AM) How good is DeJesus in the field? Last year I thought I read somewhere that he wasn't that good defensively. He's had some very good years, some ok years, and some iffy years, depending on how healthy he is and where he gets moved around to. In general, if you buy Fangraphs, if you put him at a position and keep him there the whole year, he'll be somewhat above average. That includes CF, although the last time he spent a lot of time in CF was a couple years ago.
November 11, 201015 yr QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Nov 11, 2010 -> 10:20 AM) He's had some very good years, some ok years, and some iffy years, depending on how healthy he is and where he gets moved around to. In general, if you buy Fangraphs, if you put him at a position and keep him there the whole year, he'll be somewhat above average. That includes CF, although the last time he spent a lot of time in CF was a couple years ago. I had kind of forgotten about De Jesus after he broke his thumb last year. If he's good defensively, he would have looked very good in the Sox outfield next year though. He doesn't have a lot of power, but I like his avg. I wonder if KW tried to make a play for him. KW is probably working behind the scenes trying to acquire Matt Kemp now.
November 11, 201015 yr QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Nov 11, 2010 -> 12:03 AM) DeJesus would have been a nice piece in RF, but we wouldn't have gotten him. We have a RF'er
November 11, 201015 yr QUOTE (elrockinMT @ Nov 11, 2010 -> 01:17 PM) We have a RF'er Having a RF and having a good RF is completely different.
November 12, 201015 yr QUOTE (elrockinMT @ Nov 11, 2010 -> 12:17 PM) We have a RF'er Yeah not really, they more or less have a guy who stands out in RF and catches balls. He's better suited to DH. Unless you were referring to Rios or Teahen, in which case you could make that argument.
