QUOTE (fathom @ May 12, 2010 -> 11:52 PM) The most important thing I took from the flashbacks is that Kate was a lot hotter and less muscular when the show started. And not so f***ing annoying.
  2. QUOTE (hawksox13 @ May 12, 2010 -> 04:23 PM) I gotcha. Those are some good points you make. And I have to agree with you, there isn't much of a chance that this actually ends up affecting the Sox one way or another so it probably should have just been put in one of the catch all threads. My bad. No worries.
  3. QUOTE (hawksox13 @ May 12, 2010 -> 04:12 PM) My question involved in my original post was whether or not this had any upcoming implications on moves the Sox may or may not make, thus making it an appropriate topic for the major league board. Sorry if I'm mistaken here. Move it if you'd like. It really won't upset me too much. All I'm saying is Rock doesn't need to be an ass about it. That's part of the reason I don't post on message boards often because people are always so smart and tough over the internet. I thought the topic may interest some Sox fans, I posted it. People who want to read it and respond can, others who it doesn't interest so much can just stay away from the topic. Not sure what the big deal is. It didnt upset me much, but saying in the thread title the Sox signed Embree does hint towards a ML deal, not a MiL one. Also, I would just post this in the catch all thread as it isnt much. If there was a thread or topic on Randy I would include this here, but personally I dont see it deserving its own thread. The news probably has a .5% chance of actually impacting the sox in my mind. If Williams fails, I dont see Embree really taking his place. I see another move coming first unless Embree is stellar at Charlotte, and that is improbable. Not trying to knock you at all, just personal suggestions.
  4. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ May 12, 2010 -> 04:02 PM) For me, it was don't married to a foreign-born model who cares absolutely nothing about baseball, specifically White Sox baseball. Well, I guess we did have Labrador Retrievers, being history majors, love of travelling and going to movies in common....that was about it. But, in retrospect, it was a great learning experience and true eye-opener for me. If I do get married again, I will at least find someone I'm at least 50% compatible with. And well, she was a model
  5. QUOTE (hawksox13 @ May 12, 2010 -> 03:58 PM) I guess minor league signings aren't discussed at Soxtalk, huh? The purpose of a message board is to allow fans to discuss/debate issues relative to the team they follow. If you don't think this topic is worth discussing then just don't get involved Rock. No need to be a smart ass or try to be funny (at which you failed). Perhaps you can just monitor what's posted and then delete all topics that don't interest you? Actually it should be in the Minor League Thread. If hes called up to the Sox then its important to talk about in the White Sox forum.

I was pretty sure that was latin, and I thought Claudia said her Roman name was Claudia. I heard something like Roman nomen est Claudia.
  7. QUOTE (Quinarvy @ May 12, 2010 -> 12:34 AM) Ke$ha is on here. How, is beyond me. Amanda Bynes being on there hurts my brain, as I remember the Amanda Show. Katy Perry should be towards the bottom. You take that back! Yes, that show was terrible, but she is a dime now.
  8. QUOTE (kitekrazy @ May 11, 2010 -> 02:07 PM) Ahh but just think, how bad it would be it if Fukadome signed with the Sox. How is that Visciedo or whatever dude is from Cuba doing in the minors? Is he any good defensively? Wow, signing Fukudome is completely different from signing a prospect. He was a polished player expected to contribute right away. I believe Chisoxfn is looking for more prospects, ones that we can develop and play cheaply once they reach the majors. It's just another source of young talent besides the draft, which we have neglected for years and hopefully keep turning it around.

  10. I do love me some Amanda Bynes.
  11. Community and Modern Family have just been spectacular.
  12. 4 finals this week, 2 Monday, 1 Wednesday, 1 Thursday. I will miss you sleep.
  13. QUOTE (spiderman @ May 9, 2010 -> 10:58 PM) Juan Pierre is really good at....making outs. The best in the league!
  14. QUOTE (chisoxfan09 @ May 9, 2010 -> 11:27 AM) True, they are definitely in Win Now mode and a year of Werth fits in with their plans exactly. If he leaves as an FA he will no doubt be Type A so they have good choices. Just thought it might give us an injection of offense this year which it would but yeah I doubt they would listen to offers now that I think about it. It is more often team that are going no where that try to unload their best trading chips. Without looking at their starting rotation, my guess is that they would want one of our pitcher's in return, and for a rental of Werth it isnt worth it IMO. EDIT: okay wow, that pun really was unintended.

QUOTE (MHizzle85 @ May 9, 2010 -> 11:21 AM) Oh, gotcha. Yeah, I've been to bars in Chicago that charge $6 for a 40. I don't drink em fast enough to warrant paying that much, they end up getting kinda warm towards the end & it bugs the s*** outta me. I usually just have a glass and pour it into there so my hand isnt warming it the whole time.
  16. QUOTE (chisoxfan09 @ May 9, 2010 -> 11:20 AM) How about a player like Jayson Werth of Phili, he is mashing and has had very good solid years in 08/09. Excellent OBP, still relatively young at 32 and decent in the OF with a career FP of .986 and career UZR of 2.3. He is righty but at this point does it matter? A half year rental would cost around 5-6 million and iwth Konerko coming off the books with AJ we could probably afford a 3-4 year deal for him (I see no more than that). He could DH and play all OF spots next year and beyond. Dunno just trying to create some valid scenarios. I think he has more value than Berkman. It looks like the Phillies cannot afford him now. I appreciate hearing different names, but why would Phil trade him? They want another WS and he's a key part of it. They would want a ML player to go go back to them. Also, I think Werth is in for a BIG paycheck and I personally dont see him being this good throughout the next 3-4 years.

QUOTE (MHizzle85 @ May 1, 2010 -> 01:36 PM) $4? I can get two for that price. At the store yes, at a bar no. Actually, in Chicago they are about $3.50, and are rip offs there. Anywho, I was drinking those at a bar here on campus, and after 4 of them I was feeling gooooood.
  18. I am sick and tired of watching Quentin an Beckham struggle so badly. We need a change, whether it be sending them down, trading them (Quentin), or getting a new batting coach to help them out, I dont care but something needs to change, whether it be the staff or personnel.

  20. Did I just read somewhere that Accenture fell from $43 ish a share to $.04? I think it was back up to $41 by closing though, but thats crazy if true.

Awesome video of Dont Stop Believing at the Ohio State Union. Hmm, embed doesnt work, how do I fix that? Anyways, . Great building by the way, really jealous of their union.
  23. My freshman year I pitched for my HS freshman team and my coach got really frustrated in this one game and brought me in to replace our pitcher. It was ridiculously cold that day and he didnt give me any time to warm up even though I was on the bench at the time and when I got on the mound I didnt realize how cold my hand was. I couldnt even feel the ball in my hand, and thus on my first warm up pitch to the catcher, in front of everyone, I threw the ball about 15 ft short. My coach just gaped at me.
  24. QUOTE (soxfan-kwman @ May 5, 2010 -> 02:00 PM) he got a couple of walks last night & a nice hit later in the game last night but Beckham is hitting different...Beckham has widened his natural stance & swing. I'm not saying Greg Walker is to blame, but someone should tell him to start with his feet closer together. Watch tonight, he takes a practice cut with his regular swing & then he moves into the batters box with his legs bent & almost pigeon toed. Anyone else notice? He changed with advice from Walker, and if you ask Beckham its what is saving him this season thus far.
