  1. Earth to LCR, We've been over this before. There's an entire thread in here somewhere that has discussed this in great detail. You can look it up. Washington made many speeches supporting the notion we WERE a Christian nation. The founders rountinely attended services & even made use of parishes for political purposes. The Treaty of Tripoli was designed to appease Muslims directly. To do that you have to downplay your Christian roots. The Treaty of Paris was designed to appease the French. To do that you emphasize your Christian roots. Pretty basic stuff.
  2. ND & White Sox fan? A man after my own heart. The green-seats can not come to soon. If they had been green to start I don't think the ball mall stuff would ever have surfaced. I like "the Cell". The symbolism makes us the Raiders of MLB. The name itself inspires intimidation. Imagine you're a major league baseball player & tomorrow you will be visiting "the Cell". The team itself is tough as nails right now but that name .. that can bring nightmares to the opposition. I imagine a few have had them already. Few people associate the term "the Cell" with a phone. They see it more as a prison. A hardened cell block where virgin blood is served up as a sacrifice to the baseball Gods. Even greater is how "the Cell" ties in with the city's & the team's heritage. Al Capone, Black Sox, & Southside hitmen. I personally want to thank Rooney for getting his company behind us. It's greatly added to the character of the team & is so fitting for Chicago. I would puke at the notion of the White Sox playing at <insert food company> Field. MLB needs a bad boy team. It needs a team with the history & character of the Raiders. Hopefully 2005 is the first of several Championships to come. I LOVE THIS TEAM!
  3. 2006 CWS Pen: Hernandez (spot starter, long relief), Vizc, Cotts, Politte, Hermy, & Jenks Rot: Buehrle, Garcia, Contreras, Garland, BMac IF: Crede, Uribe, Iguchi, Dye OF: SPods, Rowand, new RFer C: AJ, Widger BIF: Harris, Ozuna The weakness lies at DH & BOF. KW will use the WS to sell the CWS to shore up the BOF. As for DH a LOT rests on Thomas' health. If KW is convinced that Thomas can survive a full season he'll re-sign him. Otherwise he might opt to go with Everett & Gload. I'm hoping & praying on Thomas' health because a healthy Thomas at DH raises this team up another notch. Making them that much harder to beat. If Koney does somehow stay with the CWS then I think we are looking at Gload for DH.
  4. They should take a page out the STL & HOU playbooks. Tickets available to the general public should be made available thru a lottery system. Do away with the perks & the scalpers.
  5. It's ironic .. the whole white supremacy thing these days .. there's only one way for any ethnicity to become supreme: big families. Yet's it's pretty clear statistically that caucasians are well behind Hispanics, Blacks, & Asians in that department. They have by their own design opted to raise smaller families so that they can enjoy a higher lifestyle. Singing about Hess & Hitler is not going to help bring about big families. Their best bet is to try religion.
  6. Being black, white, yellow, red, or any other variation of race does NOT make you immoral. Being male or female does NOT make you immoral. A person's actions determine whether they are moral or immoral. What determines whether an action is moral or immoral? This is pretty simple. If a person is a member of a faith, creed, or organization rooted in philosophy then morality & immorality is defined by that institution. In the case of Christianity most institutions view the act of sodomy as immoral. Regardless of whether it be same-sex or between a man & a woman. Sodomy is likewise considered immoral in many non-Christian faiths. So we can safely say as a general rule of faith-borne society that sodomy is looked upon as an immoral act. If a person is not a member of a faith, creed, or an organization rooted in any one philosophy then morality & immorality is defined by society. I doubt very much that state & local governments have done or said anything to encourage the act of sodomy. Furthermore given the medical risks & general consensus of practioners it can hardly be considered a healthy behavior. So whether you look upon it from a faith perspective, a medical perspective, or a general societal perspective sodomy is considered immoral or unfavorable behavior for one to partake in.
  7. You missed the point completely. I'm not saying liberals don't have a right to voice thier opinion or for that matter even to teach their opinion. I think they do. But they should do so as an ELECTIVE & not a core course. The same applies to conservatives.
  8. It's only logical to group that which is common to most (reading comprehension, writing composition, mathematics, & physical science) as a core & group that which is least common to most (lifestyles, politics, philosophy, morality, pyschology, sociology) as electives. Liberalism is a disease that stifles competition of ideas.
  9. First off there is little evidence supporting a link between fictional violence & violence in the real world. There is plenty of evidence supporting a link between fictional sex & sex in the real world. Even more so amongst the youth of America. Secondly the consequences of STD's from the prevalence of undisciplined sex is far more harmful to society than the occasional nut job with a gun or gang violence in general. Gang violence arises from the environment a person grows up in. Not the media they entertain themselves with. Now you can argue safe sex but psychologically it's not likely to be practiced by the vast majority because you are trying to add responsibilty to control a vice. Minors engaging in this activity are acting irresponsible in the first place. Not just with respect to their bodies but likewise their minds. Sleeping around at such a young age will undoubtedly have consequences as they get older. They will find it difficult to have lasting & trusting relationships. Finally there is plenty of evidence showing a correlation between teenage sex & drug abuse. You can't very well expect drug users to practice safe sex for the betterment of society. Can you?
  10. Sheesh! I even have to explain the play on words for the opposition: Household + hellhole = househole.
  11. Ah .. but then there's Minute Maid Park. We could stage a smashing of the orange juice tailgating rally before the game!
  12. This is extremely easy to answer. How much temptation & peer pressure does a child face on a daily basis to pick up a gun or engage in violence? Now ask the same question in relation to health. You may view sexually active minors & kids as being healthy behavior. Many people including myself strongly disagree with that.
  13. That mixed race analogy is getting so old & so nonsensical that only a liberal takes it seriously any more. Especially given that fundamentalist Christian groups played a major role in ending slavery in America & forging civil rights. They got tired of other whites treating blacks as second class citizens. That's why the civil rights movement came about. Both were actions BY THE PEOPLE to bring about social change. RvW, Lemon Test, & the rest of the crap that came thereafter all represent actions by a liberal extremist court to bring about social change.
  14. Discounts do exist. Thome offered a big one to the Cub. They turned him down. Giles gave one to Pitt, Griffey to Cincy, & so on. Even Sweeney took on more deferred $$ to hang with the Roys. Both Delgado & Vlad took on backloaded contracts plus deferred $$$ to sign with their new teams. Then you have the opt out contracts like the Cub & their 3B. He can opt out & become a FA if he thinks he can earn more. So there is contract flexibility occuring all over the league for players who really want to stay with their teams. It's just a question of how bad Paulie wants to remain a White Sox.
  15. Let's think about this & it's impact on education .. shall we? First in order to understand even the basics of ID a student has to be well versed in mathematics, genetics, physics, chemistry, & molecular biology. So any suggestion that ID be taught in schools implies that this math & science rich core needs to to be introduced earlier. Something other nations have a lead on already. With those as pre-requisites an ID course of study would then relate philosophy & metaphyics with the science. Something Japan is taking the lead in with respect to its Buddhist culture. And for people like Texsox since he seems to want to suggest that it's our diversity (or what others might call the things that put America in the TOP 5 list of evil nations) that made us #1 super-power he's in for a rude awakening as well. Once the societies of the other econ super-powers establish trust in banks & financial institutions America will fall fast & furious. I can post links suggesting this is begining to happen but I'm sure you can look it up yourself if you care. If things don't change in America soon we might find ourselves #2 20 yrs from now or sooner. It was the people's trust in banks & financial instutions that made America the strongest.
  16. Signatures are real & polls are nothing more than sampling data. It's very possible for someone to say No on a poll but vote Yes on a ballot. Especially when the issue is made part of campaigns in the 2006 elections.
  17. I had great teachers which led me to be a NMS award winner & a partial scholarship at a prestigious engineering Univ in America where I made the Dean's list more often than not. Of course my parents sacrificed some of their disposable income to provide me a private education. This crap shouldn't be taught in the school period. If liberals had an ounce of open-mindeness or fairness in them they would offer social sciences as electives & allow the parents to choose which elective best suits them. Even if that elective is Christian in nature. That's the whole point behind an elective. It's a choice.
  18. No doubt they came from a Dem househole
  19. Though this is semi-related it needs to be said. America is in for a rude-awakening & the quicker we can wrestle education away from the liberals the better. In Asia, Latin America, & Europe, & the CIS most public schools are teaching English in K-9. They don't have time for BS like moral relativism. The public education there is far superior to ours. That's why they are turning out a greater % of engineers & scientists these days. One of these days we can only hope that liberals realize everybody's s*** stinks including theirs. Tour Japan & you will find a completely different perspective on their involvement in WW II than we have. Their s*** stinks & stinks good! They still to this day justify their reasons for that war & deny their association in the axis of evil. Their museums downplay all negative associations as well. Everybody's s*** stinks so keep it to yourself & stop forcing it on others. Note to the kids: s*** is NOT a bad word. That's a myth.
  20. I agree with him 100% & I believe the majority of Americans do as well. What's more I think in MA in 2008 we will find the majority in that state agree too. What shocks me in America & it is clearly orchestrated by sinful liberals is that this stuff ever enters into school. I have friends & colleagues around the world & this stuff never gets the gold standard treatment in their schools like it does here. They marvel at the culture war in America & they do agree with me that it's mostly the fault of liberals trying to impose their ideology on the rest of us. Is it any wonder that America's public schools continue to fall behind when the rest are devoting their time & energy to teach reading, writing, math & physical science while we feud over garbage issues like this that serve as nothing more than a waste of time that could be put to better use? I've got a novel idea. Why don't we first teach the kids to excel in reading comprehension, writing composition, math, & physical science before moral relativism? Oh wait. I forgot this is a public school. That's too much of a burden on the teachers.
  21. You say forward I say downward .. yada yada yada .. I do believe the Church will come around on married couples being made allowed into the priesthood before women, gays, or lesbians are. There is a shortage of priests in general they have to deal with & if left between further parish closings or ordaining married couples as priests I think they will choose the couples. Looking forward to it
  22. Where were the parents unreasonable? They asked for an opt-out policy that would not impact their child's grades. The school refused. The parent choose to stage a sit-in until the school reconsidered. The school filed charges & had the the parent arrested. Translation to the masses: Public schools don't give a rats arse what a parent thinks. Like I said the GOP couldn't have scripted it any better.
