  1. My brother "regifted" a birthday card he gave me the previous year (when I lived at home). Funny part was that it took me about a week before I noticed the erasures (he was 16 at the time, the little punk lol).
  2. That sounds similar to what I told a guy that was going door to door when I was about 14. I told him my mom only reads the Times and we weren't interested. He asked about my dad and I told the guy my dad only reads Gaelic. He was a little speechless, said thanks and left.
  3. Glad someone else noted that. Several of the carpenters that I have been in contact with (from the construction we did last year and the construction his sister is doing now) make damn good money.
  4. Brian went there near Halloween when he was a senior in HS. He swears they didn't see anything, but strangely he refuses to go with me to see it (during the day, not in the mood to get arrested lol). I've never been there and have been wanting to go during the day. My sister is the only one I know who's been there and willing to go back.
  5. We let the answering machine take the telemarketers. If we are home we'll listen in case it is important, but mostly we let the machine take it and then hit the delete button. The only time I was rude to a telemarketer was back when I was 21 and at home. My dad was seriously ill at the time and Discover kept calling for my mom and she told them she wasn't interested once and let me answer the other hundred times. Well, after 2-3 weeks straight of calls from them (after she declined their invitation and then let me say she wasn't there), I told him that she already declined and that if she wasn't taking the call for the 2-3 weeks she wasn't interested and to stop bothering us. They did.
  6. PK doesn't look all that different (physically) now from when his HS baseball card picture was taken.
  7. My mom told me about seeing this when she was younger and wandering around there (she was running away from day camp lol - she would have been about 10 when she says she saw this).
  8. After seeing the one so smashed up and the other semi twisted, I admit I cried and then said a few prayers.
  9. Good to read ya! I hope all is well with you and your family. Congrats on the apartment.
  10. I am wondering what happened to the semis. There was almost nothing left of the one and the other was twisted and on its side. From what I see on a regular basis, I wouldn't be surprised to read that the semis were cut off by some one in a car. In any case, I hope everyone involved is okay.
  11. That was one horrible crash. One semi smashed into a wall, another on its side and then there were a limo and a pick up there (neither looked terribly damaged from my vantage point (north bound on the Tri-State). I couldn't see if there were other cars or not though, but it looked pretty bad. State Police are saying the earliest they expect to be out of there is 3PM. I hope everyone survived, but the condition of one of the trucks makes me think that someone might not have made it.
  12. Fire Downtown This is about 1 block from where my dad works (at work now - he's a night janitor...er...maintenance engineer lol).
  13. Tops on my list is bret boone. I am sure there are others, but I am to engrossed in the fire coverage to think of 'em.
  14. Forgot - I saw that History Channel documentary you mentioned. If it is true, very creepy.
  15. I thought the home owners admitted it was all a hoax? I know the murders really happened, but I mean the hauntings...
  16. It is amazing how many people think the solution is drugs. How about working and paying attention to your kids (as a parent or a teacher).
