This question was on ESPN, and I just think it's great..

:bringit

Did I catch it or just see it?

That's exactly how it was worded on ESPN.com.....state it however you like.

Indifference. Don't give him attention by booing or cheering. Just say nothing. Then when he's wondering "WTF IS GOING ON" he'll be pissed probably.

If I caught it I would sell it on Ebay :o

That would be my reaction as well.

Mixed feelings here. Happy in some regard. Pissed in another.

Can you just picture him hitting the homerun and everyone in the park just goes silent. That would be priceless.

ESPN Poll is currently around

80000 Boo

40000 Cheer

Can you just picture him hitting the homerun and everyone in the park just goes silent.  That would be priceless.

Not to mention you won’t see any camera flashes or anything like that. Bonds will just be rounding the bases as quick as possible knowing how silent the damn crowd is. f***ed up s*** right there for Bonds if it were to happen.

Definitely BOO.

If I ever caugh the ball, I'd write "ROIDS" with permanent marker and throw it back. It may be appropropriate to stoop myself down to the level of a drunk, bandwagon jumping Cub fan.

In the upcoming generations, when Bonds historic HR is played on TV, they'll have no choice but to reference the growing steroid scandal surrounding his HR chase.

i would def. cheer. it is an amazing accomplishment by an amazing player

Who is on steroids. ;)

Yeah, but you still gotta put the bat on the ball. He gets an average of one 'hittable' pitch per at bat. So instead of hitting a 350 foot homer, he hits it 400 ft. big F'n deal. It takes a lot more than size to hit HRs, lots of big guys can't hit for s***.

I would boo... hell even b4 this scandal I was going to boo him. He's the biggest jagbag and doesn't deserve respect or cheers. Screw him.

People can say boo all they want, but chances are if you're at the game you will cheer. And obviously if it's in San Francisco you'll cheer. I personally can't say what I'd do because I'd have to be there.

Yawn.

It's too bad, but that's the reaction I have to the chase.

Impressed by the achievement, less than impressed by the man achieving it.

That would be so awesome! What better way to mar his "achievement" than by to ruin the ball itself.

My sentiments exactly.

Also: Steroids don't affect eyesight and probably would affect bat speed negatively, being that bulked up. As someone said before...you still have to put a cylindrical bat on a round ball.

Mark me up to cheer. For the accomplishment, not the man.

How would it negatively affect bat speed? Two of the fastest bats in the majors are on steroids.

Doesn't all the extra bulk slow them down..?

I know the strength improves.. but then the size would get it the way.. wouldn't it?

Isn't that why boxers don't take roids..? Golfers also?

I don't know, it would certainly help how hard and fast you can push off of your legs. And all that bulk that Bonds and Sheffield have doesn't seem to hurt their bat speed.

I totally forgot all about the legs. :bang

The miracle of modern pharmaceuticals. I hate to see on honest man's accomplishments be replaced by someone who, while possibly not directly breaking the current rules, broke the law in his quest for power and fame.

You cannot separate size and ability. Artificially substituting size is as wrong as artificially sacrificing ability. If somehow any big guy could be given artificial help in putting the bat on the ball, would that be fair?

Tex, good points and think see what you're saying, but IMO in terms of specifically hitting a baseball, ability is far more important than size. So yes, you can seperate size and ability. If a guy could theoretically take a substance that would give him better hitting ability, that would be wrong.

Now in football, size is equally if not more important than ability, so roids factor in a lot more.
