Agree with the first part of the post and ditto on the good thoughts. Brian's friend died over the weekend and even though he had been ill (he was ravaged quickly by leukemia - Brian talked to him a few weeks ago, was diagnosed right after that and lost his battle on Saturday) it still came as a shock to him.

Shows like these make me eternally grateful for books, sports, Discovery Channel, Food Channel and History Channel.

LOL! The DJs on 100.3 pissed me off this morning - they were doing sports and when they came to the Hawks they said they are playing some team they never heard of - to them I say :fyou. Eh, one is a ditz and the other is a Cubs fan, what did I expect?

We're going to pick up cheapest seats in the house when we go tomorrow night. We generally end up 2 rows from the top and love those seats. People up there don't tend to give us a hard time about wearing the opponents' jerseys.

(Trying to remember if this is the same incident that was history channel a few months back.) EDIT: Just researched it and it is the same incident I saw covered on the History Channel.

I doubt it as well, but I do think (from what I've read and heard here) the Sox have made a decent effort to retain Maggs. Then again, what the hell do I know?

I don't think I would want Griffey on the team. He can't stay healthy and he whines regularly (which I could see the team dealing with if he could stay healthy and put up the numbers). If there was a chance he could stay uninjured for a full season and put up decent numbers, okay, sure, I guess grab the guy. How would having two big names (Thomas and Griffey) on the team work out in the clubhouse?

I can tell you for a fact that Ireland and England write the same history entirely differently. My family is from Ireland, but my aunt and her family moved to London about 15 years ago (right before my grandpa passed away) and was telling us about the history books my cousins had in school.

I was actually thinking about that yesterday while watching the history channel special about one year after Iraq. I was wondering how long before this government we are helping to create in Iraq turns on us...

I can't stand Farmer and Rooney. When I am forced to listen to them (driving home from work, etc) it kills having to listen to those two. They never say a score and get way to wrapped up in some dumb golf story. If they told the score during the inning at least once, I might have a stronger tolerance for those two.
