This is a topic that cracks me up to some degree (the 'we shouldn't expose young kids to being gay - it's encouraging it'). Growing up, my aunt had several openly gay friends who are the nicest people one could ever meet. My parents never said a bad word about them or were concerned with us being around them (and one of my parents is old-country Irish). The thing that thoroughly surprised me was something my father told us. There was a gay coouple (2 males) that lived down the road from his family and inspite of being in a country that is strictly Catholic, no one had a problem with them and were friends with them as well. He seemed to find it strange that there is such hostility towards gay people here. Now, I am not saying this attitude is prevalent all over Ireland, because I honestly don't know what the attitude is today. But, back then (he was born in '49 and came here in fall of '72) and in his area, the 'it's no big deal' attitude was prevalent.

What is your problem with the book? Just trying to get an opposite point of view is all.

Wright's been looking pretty good so far in ST, so I am going to go with him (I confess I haven't been following Grilli as much, sorry).

Since I don't have kids yet, I am not sure if my opinion on this is fully informed or not, but, I don't have a problem with this book.

I'm not a Hawks fan in the least, but it was a really good game last night played cleanly on both sides. Give these guys some experience and they should get pretty good.

I doubt it. Leighton did a great job - he stopped 46 of 49 shots and some of those were great shots (not all by a long shot, but the Canes got off a number of good shots). One last thing - in their last 6 meetings the Canes are 5-0-1 against the hawks. Including a 3-2 victory when I went two years ago (an OT victory).

I went to the Canes VS Hawks last night and that was some game. A nailbiter to the end, which brings me to a question. Why were fans filing out with about 2 minutes to go and only down by 1? Also, that place was empty - although I expected that. We sat in the 200 section level - Brian felt like splurging and I didn't argue lol. Ok, actually he misread the price guide, but figured this is a once a year deal, it wouldn't be so bad. He was right, we had a blast. Especially when we got dirty looks from two guys two rows from us when we cheered when the Canes scored - that was fun! Heck, we were both decked out in Canes gear so there was no mistaking who we were cheering for and we ran into another couple that were cheering for the Canes as well - she even had an authentic Whalers Jersey (for the jersey, not the girl lol)! It is sad to see how far the Hawks' franchise has fallen, attendance wise, I mean. Hurricanes!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! to Craig Adams, Eric Cole, Rod Brind'Amour and the Little Latvian - Arturs Irbe for the show they put on last night!!!!!
