Between the Sox, getting my marriage license tomorrow, made home made pretzels and apple pie as well as completing the rest of my wedding tasks, this weekend has been a huge blessing from God!

My mom and I were just talking about that. Since I took a vacation day for tomorrow and get the errand done in the morning, I really want to get there. Someone PLEASE post times as soon as you hear!

Thanks for the code! Just ordered a cap and t-shirt! -
There are a few helicopters outside - I wonder if they are hovering over Bourbon street.

PK got the award, but I agree with what he said it should be for the starting pitchers as well as the team since it was a team effort!

QUOTE(WilliamTell @ Oct 16, 2005 -> 10:18 PM) I'm trying not to be picky but I'd like an insurance run. Me neither, but I could go for one or more myself.

My grampa and my mom. My grampa was a few months old when they won it in 1917 (he died 7/5/93). For my mom, because she has been a loyal fan and why not?

I have been holding off reading my paper as I am afraid I am going to look and find out last night didn't really happen. Heck with it, I finished one of my tasks so it is off to read the paper while downing a nice, hot cup of coffee! GO SOX!

QUOTE(Texsox @ Oct 16, 2005 -> 08:28 AM) Anyone else remember the sirens being tested every month? In Rolling Meadows, they test them at 10AM on the first Tuesday of the month. I think Chicago will need to schedule a test conveniently if/when the Sox score the 4th win of this series .

My friend and I were wondering why the pitcher was "redressing" on the mound lol.

QUOTE(mkalk @ Oct 15, 2005 -> 10:29 PM) This whole season is going to take a while to sink in. It still hasn't completely sunk in that we won the AL Central, or that we swept the Red Sox. I hear ya. I keep thinking it is another series - the fact that the Sox are 3-1 in the ALCS has definitely not sunk in yet for me.

These announcers really suck. Yes, the Sox have benefitted from some blown calls, but let's face it, if it were the Red Sox or Spanks, you would NEVER hear "the ump screwed up." Yes, the umps have botched calls, but STFU about it already - talking it about it until they are blue in the face isn't going to change a bloody thing.

It was catcher's interference, but does it need to be repeated once a minute for the next 60 minutes?! Good Lord I cannot stand this numb nuts. Too bad I don't have a radio in the area of our downstairs tv to put on.

QUOTE(Texsox @ Oct 14, 2005 -> 11:02 PM) Taking 10 days is within eBay's rules. The sad part was it was barely 36 hrs past the win when we got that call. If I remember correctly, the part was only $15 or $20 as well, so it wasn't a high priced item or anything even close.

QUOTE(AddisonStSox @ Oct 15, 2005 -> 09:56 AM) 2)Tatyo Irish Chips, imported from Ireland-----I need a little help from the Southside Irish on board. Those are called Tayto, are they not? They have some real interesting and delicious flavors. Problem is, you can really only get them at those Irish import stores. Yes, that is the name. My dad's favorite "flavor" is the vinegar and salt type. I have been to Pat Jacks (Ridgeland a few blocks north of 111th) to get them in a little while, but they are tasty!

QUOTE(SleepyWhiteSox @ Oct 14, 2005 -> 04:39 PM) Good point. I'd be all for parochial and private schools having to abide by rules that they could not "discriminate" (I'm using that term loosely since I wouldn't consider it discrimination when the schools themselves are faith-based) based on faith...as long as taxes that go to public schools were optional. Parents choose to send their kids to private schools. I doubt they would mind if all of the teachers and those who work there were of the same faith as what the school is based on, and I would imagine that it could even be preferred. Parents also pay taxes that go towards education, so I see nothing wrong with them getting some of that money placed towards their children's education, regardless of the hiring rules of the schools, especially since it is where they are choosing to send their kids. Anyways, that's just my opinion.
