QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ Apr 4, 2008 -> 12:18 PM) Snacks and Cakes with some of that stellar defense that keeps him in the lineup.

Actually, I think Podsednik very well might get better reads on balls, which would make him the better fundamentally sound fielder, but Owens speed is so much greater that he can close in on balls much better than Podsednik can.

QUOTE(Kalapse @ Apr 3, 2008 -> 11:11 PM) Ivan Rodriguez's OPS was .002 points higher than AJ Pierzynski's last season. AJ's a tad overrated, but he had a pretty poor year last year too. All of his splits were below his career averages. IRod's were too, but you sort of expect that out of a 35 year old catcher.

QUOTE(lostfan @ Apr 3, 2008 -> 10:04 PM) A lot of that was just beyond his control, he played hurt a lot and when he wasn't he never fit in, it was all about LeBron so I think it's pretty unfair to boo him. I know he was a major disappointment there (lol www.heylarryhughespleasestoptakingsomanybadshots.com) but IMO he couldn't have been anywhere nearly as bad as Wallace was for us... yeah, we booed him pretty bad. But I think when you factor in his effort, production, and contract, he is the worst player in the NBA. that seriously has to be the longest domain name of all time

Yeah, no velocity, right. Colon would look really good in a White Sox uniform about now.

QUOTE(SoxFan101 @ Apr 4, 2008 -> 01:43 AM) Im not sure if that is a good thing or a bad thing It's most definitely a good thing

QUOTE(RockRaines @ Apr 3, 2008 -> 11:53 PM) He was also 20 and in the majors. He'll come around. He's nasty. Between Cueto, VOlquez and Bailey, they have a REALLY good young pitching core. Not that it makes a hell of a lot of difference, but he was actually 21. He also had mediocre BB/9 numbers in AAA last year and his K/9 doesn't jump out at you. He does keep the ball in the park well, and is, afterall, only 21, so it's not like he's running out of time.

QUOTE(peanut33tillman @ Apr 3, 2008 -> 10:54 PM) I dont see a valid point ur trying to make here witesox, yea he hits 7 hole but have you seen that lineup?? take a look at that all star lienup and you might rethink what you said...I could care less for Pudge but its unfair to make an assessment on him because he hits low on a team full of massive amounts of talent... He'd bat 7th or lower in the White Sox lineup too. He's not that good offensively anymore.

QUOTE(lostfan @ Apr 3, 2008 -> 09:47 PM) All I'm saying is you'd expect someone who is eventually going to the Hall of Fame to be drawing more than 9 walks a year. He only walked 24 times in 1999 when he won the MVP too. It's really not that big of a deal to me. He's never been a patient hitter, and he didn't play in 33 games last year. If he sees a lot of pitches he wants to swing at, more power to him.

QUOTE(lostfan @ Apr 3, 2008 -> 08:53 PM) I'm not saying Rodriguez is a s***ty player by any means, but he has a really horrible OBP for a player of his caliber. Of his caliber? He's the 7th hitter, and once Granderson gets healthy, he'll be the 8th or 9th hitter in the lineup with Inge getting bumped to the bench. He's not a real good player anymore, and he does have a s***ty OBP, but he does make up for that somewhat by hitting at a decent clip. Juan Uribe hits .230-.240, and that's why people are upset with him.

So nobody did anything of significance for Charlotte tonight except Haeger, who went 7, allowed 2 runs on 7 hits, 1 BB, and 6 Ks. So I guess there's that.

I'd really like to say something about trade value and two certain players, but I'll refrain for now. I love John Danks

QUOTE(iamshack @ Apr 3, 2008 -> 12:27 PM) Good job, JD. How about we cheer for the guys that are playing for now, since we have no control over what the organization chooses to do regarding roster management at this point? I am. I still have the right to expect Crede fail and to yearn for Fields to be called up. -

QUOTE(Jenks Heat @ Apr 3, 2008 -> 12:20 PM) If the wind wasn't blowing out Monday, there could be some really negative thoughts going around about Thome. If Fields had a better OBP and played average defense his K's would be acceptable. HE DOES PLAY AVERAGE DEFENSE -
