QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Apr 5, 2008 -> 06:22 PM) Lets say June rolls around, Crede is hitting .275 with 12Hr's and playing gold glove defense and has came to the Sox willing to sign an extension. Fields is putting up good numbers in the minors and the Sox biggest weakness is the rotation. Then I wouldn't answer the phone. I want nothing to do with Crede long term, not with his back. It's understandable if the upside is like a .900-.950 OPS, but that's now what Crede would put up.

cuz I came here on a cold, mid-November night 5 and a half years ago, and I didn't want to leave. So I made myself at home.
-
And I'll still say that trading Fields would be the dumbest move KW has ever made.

QUOTE(BearSox @ Apr 5, 2008 -> 02:23 AM) except maybe without the Judy Garland break downs. Which would be Kevin Brown. He was kinda good

Did that uniform say SOX on it? I could have sworn it did.

QUOTE(Wanne @ Apr 4, 2008 -> 06:05 PM) I guess I just dont' agree with the classifying. To me it's 2 different subjects. Offensively vs Defensively. Where do you draw the line as to what a good 3B is? To me if you bat around .250 and have a great glove...you're a good 3B. If you are good offensively, you have to be simply godawful defensively to be brought down, ala Ryan Braun last season. Joe Crede's defense isn't good enough for me to ignore his bat. And, because of how mediocre offensively he is, and how he rates among all other 3Bman in the league, I consider him to be quite mediocre.

QUOTE(Wanne @ Apr 4, 2008 -> 05:29 PM) That's great. I'd kill myself if I had to listen to that guy do Sox games.... That's probably why there are so few Reds fans.

QUOTE(Hatchetman @ Apr 4, 2008 -> 06:40 AM) thanks. guy should have been the #4 prospect in all of baseball. Guys with sinkers always get overlooked because it's hard to project them to the majors. Some can be super studs, like Webb, while others can be just good or even bad at times, like Jon Garland. There are examples of bad ones, but I can't think of any because they suck.

QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Apr 4, 2008 -> 05:50 PM) You sure did, couldn't be happier to be wrong. Admitting you lost to Wite, that one hurts. I understand your alcoholism.

QUOTE(Wanne @ Apr 4, 2008 -> 05:40 PM) Defensively?!?...not hardly. I'd rather have Miguel Cabrera at 3B than Joe Crede, and Crede is probably twice the defensive player Cabrera is when his back isn't acting up. That's because Miguel Cabrera is a friggin monster. As Rowand alluded to, Crede is an average 3Bman overall. Nick Punto and Brandon Inge aren't mediocre defensively, but they ride the pine because they are average. Crede really isn't that much better, if at all, than Brandon Inge.

QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Apr 4, 2008 -> 05:48 PM) I was very against it, even saying that I thought BMac was going to be much better than Javy last season. As has been said, get back to me in 5 years but I really hope I'm wrong on the deal, hopefully Danks and Masset continue to pitch well. BMac better than Javy, you crazy son, and I told you so

QUOTE(Shamrock4Life @ Apr 4, 2008 -> 04:31 PM) great game, i love it. Aj is the man. I would still trade Uribe if someone came asking. As far as his defense, he might end up costing us more runs in the end, at until he gets used to 2nd. Crede I would have to see what we get back, a real 2nd basemen and a prospect? What's with people thinking that Crede actually has value? I'm not about to start this up again, because he's been good through 4 games, but he is mediocre 3Bman with everything considered, has one year left on his deal, and his agent is Scott Boras. I'd imagine the highest his value will ever be is about a B prospect. You aren't going to get multiple players for him unless they suck.

QUOTE(sox-r-us @ Apr 4, 2008 -> 03:33 PM) I may have created a monster.....keep this thread bumped - the tiggers are gonna crash and burn this season And yeah, fock those experts on ESPN and on this site who predicted the Tiggers would be a contender this year ..... It is 4 games
-
I would just like to point out to Ozzie that the White Sox have scored 8 runs in a game twice this year, and they haven't had a legitimate 30 stolen base threat in the lineup once, with the potential minor exception of possibly Cabrera, but I don't see that happening.

QUOTE(lostfan @ Apr 4, 2008 -> 03:26 PM) lol that would be awesome. Trade, then optioned to AAA, followed by DFA. LOL, I was thinking more along the lines of optioned, then DFAed to make room for someone else on the 40 man, to being traded. That would work too though. It would suck for MacDougal though.

I don't see Bull Durham being quoted. Must mean it's not the greatest baseball movie of all time.

OMFG JD is so damn slow

AJ owns your soul, just so you know

QUOTE(Tony82087 @ Apr 4, 2008 -> 02:58 PM) There are going to be bumps in the road, but the back end of the pen looks to be really solid. absolutely. Add into that how good Boone looks and that Thornton should be solid too, and the Sox have the makings of a pretty solid bullpen. MacDougal's a wild card, and Masset's a big whogivesaf***, but I love it. I do think if MacDougal struggles enough and Wasserman keeps on producing at AAA, MacDougal will be optioned/traded/DFAed (or hell, maybe all 3) and Wasserman will be up soon enough.
