  1. QUOTE (knightni @ Apr 14, 2008 -> 10:47 AM) Send Ramirez to AAA, bring up Richar and bench Uribe. Also, bring up Wassermann and send down MacDougal. And so Richar would just lay down at 2B? It's hard to play an injured player.
  2. Kyle Farnsworth relieved Kyle Farnsworth twice tonight against Boston.
  3. QUOTE (Flash Tizzle @ Apr 14, 2008 -> 02:21 AM) Has anyone else aside from myself never sneezed more than one time in a row? It's always one and done with me. This is something I first noticed a long time ago, but it wasn't until today that I was reminded. I normally only sneeze twice. But if I'm sick or I have something jammed in my nose really well, it can be 3 or 4. And then one time I sneezed like 12 times in a row, and I have no idea what the hell happened.
  4. QUOTE (almagest @ Apr 14, 2008 -> 12:39 AM) Well, we lost 2 of 3 vs. Cleveland, and split with Minnesota. Both teams are at or below .500. That doesn't bode too well, though I suspect we'll find out more about this team in the series vs. the A's. I thought we looked like a superior team than Minnesota though...Danks and Masset blew up against them, but all 4 of the other starters have looked OK thus far. I also thought they looked pretty good against Cleveland too and the Sox could have won that series too - we all know about the opening day fiasco.

QUOTE (santo=dorf @ Apr 13, 2008 -> 06:49 PM) There was snow friday night so I didn't bother to make the drive up there. Man, this weather sucks. It was pretty s***ty Thursday too. We had a few guys go down there, and they said it was pretty crazy. The parade was pretty sweet though from everything I understand too. I hope to go down next year, because I think it'll be crazy as hell.
  6. QUOTE (Heads22 @ Apr 13, 2008 -> 07:10 PM) Not if he keeps producing. It's hard to justify trading a guy playing as well as he is, contract situation be damned. Especially when the team is winning too.
  7. QUOTE (Tony82087 @ Apr 13, 2008 -> 04:57 PM) Where exactly would he fit on this team? Why would he have signed here? His OPS is worse than that of Quentin, Swisher, and Dye...and it's really not even close. And he's not hitting "about .400" while getting on base at about a ".500" clip unless Joe Crede also has "about 10 homers" right now.
  8. QUOTE (DABearSoX @ Apr 13, 2008 -> 05:14 PM) How can you trade a guy that is so clutch....Clutchness wins playoff series...If Joe keeps it up I can't see Kenny trading him away Good pitching wins playoff series. Without good pitching, there is rarely an opportunity for any player to be clutch.
  9. QUOTE (CWSGuy406 @ Apr 13, 2008 -> 04:04 PM) Wasserman needs to be up with the big club... not so much because MacDougal and Masset are terrible, but because how good of a pitcher Wasserman may actually be. I know he's seen as a gimmick pitcher who probably isn't that good, but damn -- and I'm aware there's severe sample size issues at play -- he held righties to a .430 OPS last year. There's a non-terrible chance that Wasserman is our best non-Jenks reliever against right-handed batters. I would say there's a damn good chance Wasserman would be the best non-Jenks reliever period.
  10. QUOTE (BearSox @ Apr 13, 2008 -> 03:32 PM) Nice to see Kong finally break out with a good game. And Crede is plain and simply a beast with the bases loaded. It seems everytime the sacks are packed with him at bat, he hits a granny. I still think Fields is the future at 3B, but Crede going like this only raises his trade value. Would have liked to see Javy get the CG shutout though... Chris who? FOR THE LAST f***ING TIME, IT'S CHRIS YOUNG

    Heads, how was Veisha?
  12. actually I thought one...how about lowest IP per appearance? Kelly Wunsch has to be near the top of that list with his 2/3 (technically 0.686) of an inning average per appearance over 258 games in his entire career. Or Mike Myers...less than 2/3 of an inning per appearance (.613)
  13. QUOTE (BearSox @ Apr 12, 2008 -> 02:31 PM) why do so many people want MacDougal off the team? He's our best reliever, no doubt, when he throws strikes. And he has been throwing strikes. I really don't know how you can claim MacDougal is better than Jenks at any time.
  14. GAVIN FLOYD IS SO AMAZING!1!1!111!!!!!! HES SUCH A CUTIE
  15. QUOTE (The Beast @ Apr 12, 2008 -> 10:06 AM) Prove it, wite. No need to use caps. I just think some people, including posters here and especially Ozzie are making a big deal out of nothing. Obviously I'm an umpire and I know for a fact, I may not like some of the people I'm working for, but it doesn't make me have a vendetta against them, and I won't change calls because I know I'm umpiring for someone. When people get out of line, you get thrown out, which is exactly what happened to Ozzie and which is exactly what happened to several coaches I've umpired for. So how does you having that mean anything? We all have different ways about our life and nobody lives the same. Just because you don't have a personal vendetta against others doesn't mean someone else can't. Having that idea is absolute bulls***.
  16. QUOTE (The Beast @ Apr 11, 2008 -> 11:12 PM) I really wonder why this whole situation is becoming a dramatic one, it's absolutely ridiculous. BECAUSE YOU MADE IT ONE
  17. QUOTE (ChiSox35 @ Apr 11, 2008 -> 12:30 PM) /\ I wouldn't quite say he's the *main* reason, but he was certainly accelerant that helped turn a fire into a blaze. If Jose Canseco didn't do what he did I have no doubts someone else would eventually. Steroids time line, as it happened. Canseco is listed on there 5 times (2 of them, however, are not distributing related. The first leads to himself and then his dealer getting caught, and the next leads to Boone in ST when Canseco was with Anaheim). However, Canseco reputedly shot up Juan Gonzalez, Rafael Palmeiro, Ivan Rodriguez, Miguel Tejada, Jason Giambi, Mark McGwire, and then a few guys in Tampa too who are rather meaningless. Look at those 6 and tell me how many places you see steroids connected with them, and you tell me Canseco wasn't the main reason. By all accounts, Canseco was one of the first to begin fully using steroids, and he was helping distribute it all around the league. How is he not the main reason for steroids in baseball today? Don't glorify the demon.
  18. QUOTE (BearSox @ Apr 11, 2008 -> 08:41 PM) Fields 4-4 now with a double, home run (both oppo), 2 singles (both to left), and 2 rbi's. And as fathom said, Broadway with a real good outing. 7 IP, 1/1 R/ER, 5 H, 4 K's, and 3 BB's. Those BB's cost him a run. Looks like he really wants to take someone's spot in the rotation. Or Masset's spot in the bullpen
  19. So, hypothetical situation. Some man comes home one night and he's just piss drunk. He decides it's time to start hitting his wife. So he hits her in the face, shoves her into the wall, kicks her in the kidney, kicks her in the head, just bloodies the hell out of her. He takes her outside and throws her into the street. A car's coming, and it's going to run this lady over and take her life. But, drunkass pulls her out of the road and saves her life, yet she's still bloodied, bruised, and demoralized. Is drunky really a savior? Savior of baseball? Get the f*** out of here. Jose Canseco is the main reason there ever were steroids in baseball...because he's trying to clean it up now, he should not only be cleared of all charges, but become immortalized in a good light? F***.that. (and let it be known...I am happy Canseco is doing what he's doing; it doesn't change the fact that he's a scumbag who could have been the one major pitfall in the greatest game in the world) (I also wish someone would poke his head with a safety pin to let all that air out. I've never seen a person so damn full of themself)
