And let's not all act like there are not SS's available; as far as I can tell, there may be up to 5 or 6 shortstops available. Right now, I count Renteria, Furcal, Eckstein, Tejada, and then potentially any of Uribe, Greene, Lopez, and maybe even more lesser names. There are free agents out there, so that should not be something the Sox have to worry about.

I missed the fire, but I'd gladly take a 5.27 ERA from Floyd next year in the 5th spot. So long as he avoids giving up the longball, he'll be absolutely fine. But I back Floyd because he's my boy. Carry on though
