White Sox, A.J. Pierzynski agree on two-year extension
QUOTE(SoxAce @ Sep 29, 2007 -> 05:18 PM) Point is, I wouldn't be shocked. Were you expecting Pods to be back with us this season? You just don't know what direction they are going behind closed doors. When Juan Pierre got a $44 mill deal, it made a lot of sense.

White Sox, A.J. Pierzynski agree on two-year extension
QUOTE(Soxfest @ Sep 29, 2007 -> 05:02 PM) Reported riff between AJ and JG when he pitched at times. That has absolutely no reason why Garland will be gone. Garland's $12 million salary has every reason as to why he's gone.

White Sox, A.J. Pierzynski agree on two-year extension
QUOTE(Tony82087 @ Sep 29, 2007 -> 04:51 PM) Love to hear the logic on this one, at least from the standpoint of AJ resigning... There is no logic, don't even worry about it.

Thome Season Total
Yeah, you actually should probably give $100 to Ozzie for continuing to play him throughout the course of September.

AAP: Tom Collaro
QUOTE(BB2ZZ @ Sep 26, 2007 -> 08:20 PM) You obviously are confused Gene, hence the cub and female reference. This is ADOPT a prospect, not trash a prospect. You are strangely attracted to a portion of the site where you OBVIOUSLY are not a fan. You must have issues of some sort, just go to the Jack Egbert site and stay away. I've got NO PROBLEM with Egbert or Gio and went to the All Star game, I wish them both the best. MVP must been a very difficult choice, whoever made it. Not my job or inclination to question the decision. I like Collaro as a person as much as Gene does....which means I've never met him and have no idea what he is about personality wise....but really, he's not cheering against him. He's merely stating that, due to his peripherals - mainly K/BB, which is one of the most important stats among minor league hitters, along with BABIP - that he is completely unlikely to make a significant effect on the major league roster next year, even on the bench. I sincerely doubt he's cheering against the Sox or Collaro. He's merely stating that Collaro, at this point, has absolutely no place on a major league roster and, without some improvement on contact or plate discipline, he should have no place near a major league roster.

QUOTE(Jordan4life_2007 @ Sep 28, 2007 -> 10:09 PM) I'll say this much: good luck to whoever has to go up against the Phillies offense. They've got 3 legitimate MVP canidates. I am just going to assume you are not including one of Howard, Utley, and Rollins AARON ROWAND 4 MVP!!@1!!!#$!$#!^^!@#$#!^&!!!!

It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia
I definitely was just channel surfing before going out last night, and this show was awesome. The 12-year old bit definitely caught me off guard.

September 28th: Chicago vs. Detroit
QUOTE(whitesoxmanager @ Sep 28, 2007 -> 07:34 PM) I almost posted something to the effect that Aaron Rowand has made a big difference on the attitude, personality, and competitiveness on the Phillies. To those of you who think otherwise, well you have many years to gain the experience necessary to realize what it really takes to win. KW you were wrong and now we are left with a listless team. Ryan Howard, Chase Utley, and Jimmy Rollins have absolutely nothing to do with it. It's all Rowand. Get real.

September 28th: Chicago vs. Detroit
Since the draft position is meaningless at this point anyways, here's to hoping Vazquez wins 15 and gets his ERA below 3.70. (reverse psychology or somethin...?)

wite needs a sig
alright, great sig, but it's kinda starting to freak me out first person to make a sig with the pic below saying "Sox Rock" and "WITE" along with the Sox emblem preferably right in the middle and pretty large in it wins some cool points from me. I know I'm not a Soxtalk Icon, but I'm still pretty friggin sweet. Please

A Little Help PLease, Probably from the college crowd

A Little Help PLease, Probably from the college crowd
QUOTE(sox4lifeinPA @ Sep 28, 2007 -> 03:36 PM) my p.s. included a statement about Ginseng. can you OD on Weed and Ginseng and then eating the mix? http://users.lycaeum.org/~sky/data/cooking.html so that's why someone would, but it didn't help, it's kind of neat though however, according to Wiki, you can overdose on Ginseng. That's probably what happened, and definitely not marijuana

A Little Help PLease, Probably from the college crowd
QUOTE(Markbilliards @ Sep 28, 2007 -> 01:12 PM) For those of you who have done weed, did you find it addicting? Yes, only because it's very easy to get into a routine of doing it, as Rock said. There would be times when I just had to smoke and then play video games for like 4 hours...it was like a f***in necessity. But I came to school, and I just don't smoke down here at all (which is kind of weird that I smoke when I'm home but not at school...probably has to do with my inability to smoke and drink). So to answer your question, yes it's addictive, but it's pretty easy to break the addiction so long as you can change your routine.

If the Sox would have missed the playoffs in 2005 would you be calling
I got a question If the Sox made the playoffs in both 2003 and 2006, rather than choking, would Ken Williams be considered one of the best GMs in the game? I can play that game too dude; it's a scenario which is impossible to achieve at this point, so why bother asking?

Is there really anything wrong with comparing a 24 year old pitcher to a 38-41 year old Greg Maddux?

Official Hate for the Milwaukee Brewers Thread
QUOTE(ChWRoCk2 @ Sep 27, 2007 -> 10:25 PM) Brewers are as good as done, Cubs have tie breaker and with three games left a piece, if the Brew crew lose one its over. What tiebreaker? There is no tiebreaker in the MLB that decides if a team is going to the playoffs or not; that is settled in a one game playoff.

Official Hate for the Milwaukee Brewers Thread
Why has Gabe Gross never been given a chance to start? His numbers - even with hitting .230 this year - are pretty solid all around. So what gives? This is also why I kind of wish the Sox were rebuilding next year so they could take a chance on a guy like Gross.

Grade the Sox
QUOTE(BigSqwert @ Sep 27, 2007 -> 04:16 PM) The plus is for effort. He just really sucked. I like this reasoning more than giving Andy Gonzalez an A Andy Gonzalez - F+

Grade the Sox
I really don't know why or how anyone would give Andy Gonzalez anything less than a C. As far as I'm concerned, he stayed healthy and played a lot of positions, so he gets an A. That in itself says a lot about a guy. I mean, the guy hit like s***, but who honestly didn't expect that? He's the 32nd man on a 25 man roster, it just so happens that the White Sox are so bad that he was the 27th or 28th man. Had the team been in contention, it's an entirely different story, but seriously, kudos to Andy for health and flexibility, and thanks for busting your balls kid.
