White Sox vs. Twins, Game 1 of DH, 7/06/07 (L)
claydude14 replied to BearSox's topic in 2007 Season in Review
This double header is like watching my hometown Rochester Red Wings (AAA Twins affiliate) against the White Sox. I've seen Baker and Garza pitch before. I hate having to watch players come through town and go on to succeed against the Sox. And my Dad's from Iowa and is a Twin fan, so the getting swept the last series against them was pretty annoying. -
If the offense and bullpen stay as steady as they have this series, maybe. But we are playing the Devil Rays of all teams.

If we win, is that our first series sweep of the season? I honestly don't recall, it's been so long since we even won a series. -

Nice to turn on a game to a Konerko home run. -
Come on Jenks

So this is what it's like to enjoy watching a White Sox game, this is a great feeling.

Thank God he bobbled it. Of course Thome couldn't make it home otherwise.
-
Let's go Fields come on kid.

I watched this game in hope of catching the offensive outburst we had the past two games, it's been dissapointing so far.

I think I say this on behalf of most of the people here...

You know what, I'm gonna just go ahead and support anything the White Sox put on the field. I'm tired of being negative becuase of how we've played for a month. The season is over, and as a younger Chi-Sox fan that's harder to swallow then some vets probably who have seen bad seasons. But the bottom line is, I've decided to not jump on a NL bandwagon I've proposed due to my MLB.TV subscription, but instead I'm gonna watch for the bright spots and learn to live through the bad times with the good. I'm cheering for our young players to succeed now- they are the only entertaining part of the club. I have a chance to go to the Inidians at the Cell the 2nd weekof August for my firt Chi-Sox game in like 12-13 years (I have family in Chicago but have grown up in Rochester NY and usually have to see the Cubs when I rarely do visit- have only been to "New Comiskey Park" once). And I'm going to pursue that no matter what, because I still am in love with this ballcub. -
And that's pretty much a White Sox season...

Looks like it will be 05 Series DVDs and National League baseball the rest of the summer for me. -
I'm not sure if I want the win or if I want to get swept. It's that depressing of a season and even the trade rumors don't look promising. And yea, I'm a team guy so don't say I'm cheering for the team to lose. I will watch the game and cheer for them to win, but in our situation the L gets the trades closer (I'd hope, but looking at our GM I'm not so sure). In other news my $70 clubhouse shoes arrived in the mail and they look nice so at least no matter where I go people know I'm a true Chi-Sox fan.

This season f***ing sucks. I'm thinking about using my MLB.tv subscription to just hop on some National League team's bandwagon for the rest of the season so I can actually enjoy watching a baseball game. Those Rockies are sure looking good.

Where's the Ron Paul love?

QUOTE(southsideirish @ Jun 17, 2007 -> 01:02 AM) Great points. I really don't know how this clown has a job let alone how he has become this media icon in Chicago. It is quite embarrassing really. NY heard him for two days and couldn't stand him. They could tell right away that he sucked ass. We have him for life it seems. How is that possible? Mike North sucks no matter where I hear him. I have a great baseball franchise in town that are unfortunatley affiliates of the Twins. I grew up on Rochester Red Wings Baseball, and some nice prospects came though but I love the fact I can no longer cheer for the hometeam. So much more interesting. But we toook advantage of the ballclub. The Rochester Red Wings are one of the oldest and most original franchises in all of ROchester. In response to that last post there should be prospect talk, but embarssingly it is missing

Ugh why is it every night I get home from work and turn on the game the Yankees are in scoring position?
-
With the Count on the mound, maybe it's not a bad idea to just ignore the 4th game of the Yankees series...
-
Coming home to read a victory feels so good. I went out in the top of the 9th and was still worried about coming home to another loser. Let's go Sox.
-
And here I thought things were about to turn around after the Cubs series. Our lucky breaks are dissapearing.
-
Came home from an 11 hour day to my Old Man in a Twins shirt and a score of 9-1. He's lucky he's only a casual fan and didn't know to talk s*** to me, I may have flipped.
-
Disgusting.
-
It's not over yet. Let's get out of the inning tied.
-
f*** yea

Come on Paulie
