  1. Theres a weirder game I remember (I got to watch this one on TV too). Yankees-Red Sox at Fenway. Mussina pitching. The game is tied 0-0 all the way to the top of the nith and Mussina has a no-no. The Yankees scored once and Mussina quickly got two outs. Then Carl Everett came up and with two strikes hit this ugly, flaring bloop single which only fell due to perfect location in left center. Mussina got the next guy but oh if he had got a perfect game it would have been historical. Historic park, historic rivalry, close game and of course the perfect game. But it didnt happen and not many people remember that game anymore...
  2. Well a loss like todays can be demoralizing. So lets hope they tank now and leave the division for us...
  3. Ya know, maybe youre right. I bet ted Lillys great start is a bit more legitimate than Gonzalez'. Sorry baggs, rafa kinda scared me out of this one...
  4. Effort and hustle. Just what I love!!!!!!!!!
  5. Alex Gonzalez for Jorge Julio and Ted Lilly Im the Beach Busters. You can see more details on this proposal at the league page...
  6. The most violent act at Comiskey this season was when Raul Ibanez stomped that guys leg after he attacked the ump. Did he think no one would see him do that? Id say peg him but the guy was a Cubs fan, thus no retaliations neccesary... ESPN hate the Sox. But thats OK. Theyre gonna have a tough time trying to rip on us when were all over the News for winning the WS...
  7. And this team has the talent to win. They just need an inspirational manager, which JM is not. Which is why we must bring in Hawk or Wally to fire these guys up...
  8. I could have managed that 2000 team to the division. Everyone played well and had career years. Anyone who knows anything about baseball could have taken that team to the division title. But I agree. Under no circumstances would I want to see the Sox lose. I dont care if itll get our manager fired, Ill never hope for such a thing...
  9. Hawk would be awesome. He was pissed last nite I hear. Imagine if the Sox and Minny got into it again. Hawk would come out swinging! And he does know the team. Backman or Hawk, I dont care which of the two, but JMs gotta go...
  10. Dont you think the ump owed it to us? Theyve made plenty of questionable calls against us, about time they made one for us...
  11. The Gun on Wgn was Wacko. How ya tell me Gordon is gonna blow away hitter with an 84 MPH fastball. And Koch was only hitting 86. No way that gun is right I was kinda thinking that too. Kochs first pitch looked pretty hard. And it was only saying 88. I thought that was a bit weird, but hey, I had nothing else to go by...
  12. Oh, just at the beginning of the inning he was throwing around 88...
  13. Well put em down there soon. I just wish they did what Cleveland did last year. Go to Comiskey and the season goes down the drain. Last year it worked like a charm. This year might be a little tougher. But seriously does anyone expect to see the Royals in the playoffs? Not me...
  14. Yes I am. I should get that dogworshipping brother of mine on here. I was normal before he showed up. Not Im a nut...
  15. Tigers are actually beating Seattle. They beat the As the other day. After going 1-16 against the Central I thought theyd have no chance in the West. A spoiler perhaps?
  16. Forget about baseball! Im just here for the weirdness...
  17. Come to think about it, this is a normal day at soxnet...
  18. You expect me to behave? Are you nuts? Feel lucky I know absolutely crap about computers cuz if I did know anything your site might look kinda weird when ya got back...
  19. Can I just ask why a simple wishing of goodnite from me to the boards turned into showtimes moms paranoia of showtimes sexual relationships with someone twice his age? Jeez, I thought we started weird about impotence caused by eating pencils (btw I got up to eleven) and now we have this. I shoulda figured it would only get weirder...
  20. Whats your site hsc? I dunno. It would kinda be nice to be able to put a face on some of the posters, ya know...
  21. OK I think Rios is a good ballplayer but lets not expect him to win the AL MVP. Thats a little much...
  22. Fine you go ahead and put in the guy whos hitting like .111 and Ill go with the insubordinate whos hitting .289. Well see who comes out on top. Rowand sucks...
  23. OK I didnt start watching til the seventh but it seems like this team actually started showing some heart today. The Sox won and Garland pitched well, obviously, but there are some other positives. -First, I loved Carlos double in the seventh. It was the first play I saw on TV and I loved it. For anyone else that a single but Carlos knew he was going two the moment he hit that. I loved his hustle, chugging it all the way and never hesitating. I love that guy. -Second, Thomas hit a homerun. I always like that. This guy is finding his swing and hes gonna be a scary mofo this year. -Third, and most importantly, Garland retaliating against Mientcewicz. That was huge. Pitchers willing to get themselves ejected to show some punk ya cant be hitting their star slugger are special. That what made Rocky Biddle great. I wish someone pegged AJ as well but well get him tommorrow. Things like this, where teammates stand up for eachother, turn teams around. Did for us in 2000. And did ya notice that yet another member of the Twins is afraid to charge the mound. Mientcewicz and the rest of his buds are all talk and no do. Cowards. Jon shouldnt walked right up to Dougie and planted his fist right in his face. I hate those guys, hope we get into a real brawl tommorrow. Frank, Lee, Garland and everyone is coming out with their fists clenched. Well take all the suspensions but all those punkass Twins will spend the rest of the season in the ICU... Oh there was one negative today. What is up with Koch. He had like 88 on his fastball. Something is definitely not right there, not to mention the two run show he gave up. Overall this game was great, the most important game of the season thus far.
  24. He was throwing 88. Something is definitely not right...
